@NewZipsFan percentages are misleading.... If 50 out of 100 renewed in 2011 for 50% and then 33 out of 50 renew in 2012 for 66%...which would be significant but still be down considerably. With that in mind I'm hopeful new ticket sales are significant because by the end of last year things were really bad.

I was able to move my seats down 10 rows....with that I woudl think renewals are down.

The Whiskey bar is nothing like the Peninsula Winking Lizard. Lizardville and Winking Lizard are two separate brands. At Lizardville they have a smaller appetizer menu and an entire whisky menu where you can buy flights of whiskey. They have 170 different kinds of whiskey. When they opened the one in Bedford Heights they took some of their best bartenders and servers from their restaurants to staff it. They have a chiller they drop the bottle into when you want to purchase that chills it to the perfect temperature. Pretty cool place with a completely different vibe than the Winking Lizard. Zac Jackson from Foxsports Ohio was on 92.3 just the other day talking about this contract extension. He then went on to suggest a new stadium with money from LBJ is in the future and perhaps a LBJ statue in the arena. He inferred that he learned it from talking with Keith. If I recall Dakotah was an 8th grade commit to Kentucky and never lived up to his potential. Forsythe was actually on WVU's roster for a year and if you read the articles expected to play a significant part last year as a back-up prior to his injury. Seems quite a bit different.

I am listening to the press conference on the radio and if this isn't the definition of lack of institutional control...I'm not sure what is. Given the penalties other schools have seen for "FAR" lesser things I hope the PSU football program gets the death penalty. SMU got the death penalty for drugs and cheating....allowing children to be molested on your campus is the worst. I said allowing because the lack of care regarding this by these children is disgusing. On a side note the blinded PSU fans and alumni who continue to try to defend Joe Paterno (my relatives included) disturb me to no end.

Nobody would come here because Cleveland was always a few year destination for him never committing to Cleveland. If he would have committed they would have come....they were right he jumped ship first chance. Nobody discounts his talent they discount his character.

GP1 being a Steelers fan I wouldn't expect you to understand what it is like to be a Cleveland fan. I don't know you from Adam, but if you are one of those born and raised in Cleveland Steelers fans that makes you even worse. I had 3 Floyds Gumballhead on tap at the Taphouse in Tremont. Taphouse always has a good rotation of beer, but the Greenhouse Tavern always has a 3 Floyds on tap.

I look at the list of guys who played at Akron and none of them ring a loud bell. I guess if you have a real football jones this is for you. I know in Germany they have club teams that play for a city....I guess this is similar to that. So the Akron team finished 8th at the MAC Tournament, but Charlie Bull was selected to participate in the Regional Tournament. My question is (and we may have discussed it here before) why are we so bad year in and year out in Golf? We have a home course most kids would love to play on Firestone and I thought we had an indoor golf area in the Field House that was supposed to be top notch. What are we doing wrong? I hate to see Herb Page dominate at Can't like his teams always do. Can't golf is like Akron soccer without the national championship.

I got the survey and filled it out. I'd love to see an online (unscrubbed) version of the results posted on gozips. It would be interesting to see what people suggested. I will say the most entertaining professional sport in NE Ohio is the Cavs. The Cavs by far put the best game experience together and it makes it enjoyable for kids of all ages...interested in basketball or not. I am always thoroughly entertained. The Zips are trying, but there game day experience is quite amateur still. At the end the of the day if they improve the seats (even the blue seats are terrible) and provide better sight lines throughout it will make things so much better - oh yeah students need to be closer to the floor with better seating other than those lousy behind the seat hoops.
