If I was Keith I wouldn't want to play VCU either because they kick your team's head in. Actually Keith you should schedule these guys every year and Shaka might even give you your coveted home and home.

I appreciate Walsh being a gamer but he has looked beat since he stepped on the floor. How do the coaches not see that? Three missed threes that would have been better coming of Kretzer or McAdams hand. Please keep him on the bench the rest of the game...what are you saving your time outs for at this point - call at TO and pull the guy out.

When a team plays as fast as VCU is playing how is you don't set picks all over the place and just run them into them? The most pathetic defensive effort I've seen all year.

So far the D is sucking! How are these guys getting wide open and we can't grab a damn rebound on the rare occasion they miss.

Pat played a total of 9 minutes in our last two games -- 2 and 7. VCU is a smaller team with their tallest player being essentially Tree's size. If Zeke needs a breather the rotation will have to change a little. B Walsh is a different story. He played 25 minutes and scored 2 against Can't then played 28 and 8 against OU. If he misses we'll need Reggie to step in but I think Walsh is a gamer and your going to see him rally, but if he can't give you real minutes he needs to get off the floor and it becomes next man up.

And today both teams are at home. My question regarding MTSU is how did they get an 11 seed when we got a 12 seed? Didn't we beat them? Does the tournament committee completely discount the game because it was at home? Would you rather have a play in 11 seed or a straight 12? Would you rather have played last night and if we won been set to play in Memphis or be the 12 seed getting ready to play VCU? First off I think 11 seed as a play in game is bullshit to start with but I do think I'd rather have played last night as an 11.

I was reading the VCU message boards and I think the VCU fans are more arrogant than OU fans. VCU is a good team and they play an impressive style of basketball but to completely discount the Zips altogether is crazy. Our team is turnover prone and they will most likely turnover the ball quite a bit but this team also can play some impressive defense. I know these are fans but I have to believe some of this arrogance also extends to the team. Zeke's quote is more confidence than arrogance.

I was torn on the Denver/OU game. I didn't even know Denver played Div. 1 basketball. I don't care for the OU fans they are probably as annoying as any fans in the MAC but I really wanted them to win in support of the MAC.

That was as dominating of a second half as I have seen Akron play. I hope the tournament committee was watching last night. I went from the game to a St Patricks Day party and everyone wanted to talk with me about the game and the team. Funny how non-partisan bystanders wanted to know what seed I thought they'd get they were all shocked when I said 13. They told me no way....funny how a 13 means the committee thinks you are between the 49-52 best team in the country which is ridiculous!

Cap'n I was having similar thoughts about the team this morning. I'm hopeful the charge for Carmelo and others who back him up is to simply not turn the ball over, get the ball into the big men and then for the big men to get the ball back out when they don't have a shot. The interesting thing that Carmelo adds to this team is his slashing style of play. His style of play is different than Alex and the different look he provides the team will be interesting to watch. He doesn't seem to shoot from beyond the arc as much as Alex so it'll be interesting to see how things change.

Just heard an interview (taped earlier today) with Zeke on the Ken Carman show on 92.3. I was really impressed with the interview. I haven't had the opportunity to talk with Zeke or here him seriously interviewed. What I thought was awesome was that he didn't answer questions with sports cliches...he answered them open and honestly.

The national media has caught the story on twitter and I'm seeing it everywhere. Nothing like getting the Zips name out there nationally Alex...this wasn't the right way to do it.

So does this mean your point guards are Carmelo and Deji? Does Blake Justice see playing time? So very disappointed. This certainly makes the end of year quite interesting. Hard to believe an athlete can be so stupid. I used to wonder if Roy Tarpley sat around thinking up stupid things to do but I continue to learn it isn't just Roy Tarpley. Hard to believe a kid who talking about winning championships here and always was so excited when the Zips were on national tv so his friend back home could see him would be so selfish. I guess we should all be grateful we have the JC point guard transferring in next year.

Last night wasn't an outright Championship so maybe that played into it too.

It looks like Buffalo and Can't can end the season tied at 8-8 but Can't wont the season series 2-0. I suspect that will keep Can't on our side of the bracket. Looking at Buffalo's schedule this season there is a loss on the schedule to Eastern Michigan where the only scored 46 points and lost by 19. It was at EMU but if I'm KD and we have to play them again I'd watch that game to see what happened and how EMU held Buffalo to 28% shooting in the 2nd half. Maybe it was just a bad night for Buffalo as they also shot 11-22 from the line.

At the end of the day I realize you don't get style points for wins but I really would like to see them step on someone's throat for once...don't let up and just destroy them.

Is anyone else concerned this team can't even bury a terrible MAC team from the tip to end at home? This team seems really out of synch. Call me Chicken Little but I've been concerned about this team's lack of killer instinct all season.
