Am I the only one that was surprised Chisholm was the offensive player of the year? Maybe it isn't a surprise and it just says how poor our offense was this year. I wasn't impressed with Chisholm this year at all and I hope we see a RB that comes in next year to take his place.

Although you don't want it to happen this way I think you also always have the chance a kid gets hurt his senior year and loses his top choice offers but a school like Akron is willing to wait an extra year for the kid to heal.

Do we have to play in a conference in soccer? Can we be independent? I know we'd miss out on the automatic qualifier if we win our conference but it seems our conference does us no favors. Are we as a school at a point where a move to different conference is right no the cusp if our football team could get their act together.

Woke up early this morning to watch the game. I am certainly glad I didn't stay up to watch. Very disappointing game. I'm not sure I've seen a team look like five individuals on offense more than this one. It has been beaten to death but if these are our PGs for the entire year we are going nowhere. We have two PGs who right now are no threat to score whatsoever. I can make an argument for Kretzer or McAdams being on the floor at all times. We need their three point shooting and coming off the bench I'm afraid it takes them some time to get into rhythm. We need their shooting desperately -- we needed it today but it was not a thought. The rules change to not allow hand checking is going to be quite interesting. I have no idea what the plan is for this rule. Last night we saw a hand check get called one time down the court and then the next time down the court nothing was called.

Not sure if I missed it but has there been any information regarding how the team is preparing to play at 3 a.m. ET? I know they've been in California since Friday but are they staying up through the night every day to be able to play this game at 3 a.m.?

This is why this game should be at the beginning of the year before anyone sees how terrible these teams are and the weather is nice. There is not enough interest in either program (die hard) to actually sell this game at the end of the season. If either of these teams are good at the end of the season it won't matter who they are playing the stands will be filled. Even in a 1-11 year if this game was early in the season it would have significantly more people in attendance. Hell I have season tickets and the moment I got sick last week I knew I wasn't going sit in the cold and risk getting sicker watching these two teams...as much as I love the Zips. If the Zips were and 8 or 9 win team though I would have been there.

I really liked this game the year or two it was an early game and the community didn't have reams of excuses not to be here based on both teams records. A packed house for this game, good weather and a Thursday night would be awesome. Although, this year the weather won't be ass bad as the ice bowl year...yet somehow that was more fun than sitting in the rain.

I'm hopeful this game exorcised some demons. A lot of first wins in a long time today on the road, at Miami, against a Div. 1 opponent. The team can put this all behind them now. I hope this is the corner and we are beginning to turn it.

You have to sit Bickley down in the second half. You can't keep him in the game if he is going to fumble. This is how a team who on a losing streak continues to lose.

It was an exciting game. More exciting than I would have liked to see but I'll take the wins. A few things I think... Hirschman seems to be more decisive and quick with his decisions than Pohl. Pohl seems a little lost out there and I'm not sure why. The offense looks different under Milwee than it did under Bowden last year. I wish I knew if this was because Dalton isn't the QB or the O-Coordinator change. I'm leaning toward Dalton being the difference as the offense looks better when captained by Hirschman. I too don't understand why Mizell starts the game on the sidelines. Mizell does look out of shape (for a linebacker not a 40-something guy in the stands) but when we he is on the field he shows he can play. Justin March is a beast on defense and I don't even want to know how many yards JMU would have without him. The defense is terrible. The scheme seems pretty vanilla. We seem like we are just trying to overpower the offensive line and it isn't working. I worry that defense has passed Amato by and the team is not this devoid of talent. Akron ushered Amato out the door at NC State and I am starting to think we may need to usher him out the door to retirement now. His schemes are not coming close to slowing down these teams. Building on the above point...there are times when the defense looks like they have a lot of talent and then the next play they give up a 50 yard play. I think there is talent on the defensive side of the ball. Chisholm looked more decisive last night when there were holes to run through. Unfortunately there weren't a lot of holes. Offense needs to start Dillard, D'Orazio, Pratt and MTB. Dump the TE and find more room for Bickley...man that kid is fun to watch. I'll be interested to see how we play against another MAC school to get a better feel for where this team is but right now I'm not sure I see a lot of winning on the schedule. The funny thing is I'm still sold on Bowden and think the problem stems from the out years of Brookhart dovetailing into the miserable two years with Ianello.

I would call the University and explain the situation. The lot is "technically" for donors only but it isn't full and you'd think they'd appreciate the $. It's only a $100 donation if you're feeling philanthropic.

A little disappointed with the press conference. I was under the impression (based on last year) we were a team that was going to attack without fear and play high flying offense. Terry says in this press conference similar things to I-Coach...well we wanted to play them close and try to win it at the end. We wanted to play conservative and not turn the ball over. Is there something in the water at the Zips offices that does this to the coaches? The Tennessee game last year saw us play like a team that wanted to win. The UCF we played scared and Terry basically confirmed it.

One of those times was when he was a sub for the Dawson then was cut...went to the Ravens and was a Pro Bowler that season.
