  1. As long as it's behind JMU. Of course it would be better if they were playing that way.
  2. Even worse now. 50 to 18
  3. They just mentioned on the broadcast that the 11 players on JMU's team have been in 23 different programs before showing up at JMU. Different era. Smh
  4. For as well as they've been playing defensively, have not looked sharp offensively at all. Game is too close for having played that well on defense.
  5. Defense has been outstanding so far. And now we have a Oggi sighting who makes an excellent pass inside even though it didn't lead to a basket.
  6. Evan Mahaffey looking really good so far.
  7. And it's funny if you look at Buffalo's results, it'll look exactly the opposite of this. Buffalo has played no one but the bottom feeders.
  8. I've searched and searched and cannot find the 2025 Men's soccer tiebreakers. Georgetown is in as the one seed. Creighton has 14, Akron, SHU, UConn and Providence all have 13 and St Johns has 10. As we know Akron wins and theyre in. We lost to St Johns and UConn and tied only SHU so I'm not confident of winning any tiebreakers if we're in a group of three or more in that muddle in the middle. Hopefully the Big East will provide some clarity before the games. It is amazing that that with one game left in the season, the Zips have lost only three games in three years in the conference, but have never beaten Providence UConn nor St. John's. There was also kind of a weird quirk in the schedule this year it seemed. It appeared as though we were going to have the same three East opponents every year alternating years. This year Connecticut replaced Providence. I don't know if it's random or not but I think I would have preferred to see Providence. Anyway, go Zips!
  9. Got mentioned tonight - during Bassitts only bad outing of the postseason. 😂
  10. And just like that, a Stefan Dobrijevic PK puts the Zips on top.
  11. Zips have only three shots and one shot on goal. If they can't beat this Marquette team they probably don't deserve to be in the tournament.
  12. With Creighton picking up a point tonight Zips must get at least a tie to stay in contention for the Midwest title.
  13. Seton Hall up on Creighton 1-0. If Seton Hall wins, might not be the worst thing for the Zips since they tied SHU and one of the tiebreakers is how you did against the highest ranked teams. Both Creighton and the Zips have lost to UConn.
  14. DePaul and Providence tied 1-1 at the half. A tie would be helpful in this game. And in the continuing theme of Big East schools having ball field infields on their soccer pitches, DePaul does as well. I think only Creighton and Georgetown have equivalent soccer facilities to Akron's in the Big East. And unrelated but still strange ESPN+ is showing four NCAA women's hockey games at the same time on the same screen.
  15. Come on I was waiting for someone else to praise Bassitt. Another scoreless inning (has given up one hit in the postseason) with two strikeouts. Would have been the winning pitcher had Toronto been able to complete their comeback (runners on 2nd and 3rd with none out and score no runs is pretty rough) to be the pitcher that got the win in the clinching World series game. Darn it.
  16. St. John's holds the tiebreaker on us and finishes at Butler. We desperately need the win today.
  17. 6-6 looks actually possible. Far from a guarantee but possible.
  18. Just for fun I was looking back at recent Akron successes in the MAC tournament. Akron was first eligible for the MAC tournament in 1993, it didn't even qualify for the tournament at all until 1998 and won only three games total until 2007 when it made the final (although the previous year the Zips were seeded third and their one win put them into the semifinal a streak that would continue for 12 years, then two years of not making the semifinal, then making at least the semis every year since it has been played). Despite the Zips never making a championship until 2007, and not winning one until 2009, they are 6-6 overall now (only one behind the three all-time leaders Ball St, Ohio and Kent (all of whom have made at least 32 appearances). Zips have 17. Despite the Zips having won only three games by 2007, they have the highest winning percentage in MAC tournament history at .607. Zips have as many wins as they have missed championship appearances since 2007. Just wanted to put in a little thanks to Keith Dambrot and John Groce for making these last 20 years so enjoyable. Now go win an NCAA tournament game (for us!). 🤣
  19. Zips can still make playoff without winning this game but man what a disappointment if they can't pick up three at home against Marquette. Creighton (3 points ahead of the Zips) plays Seton Hall (2 points ahead of the Zips). Rooting for the tie. 😊
  20. And yet another perfect inning in relief for Bassitt in an epic World Series game. Bet the Blue Jays wish they had stuck with him a little longer in a game they desperately needed extended pitching moments. He still has a 0.00 ERA in this postseason.
  21. UConn and Providence tie - probably the best result for the Zips. Zips now tied with both of them for fourth place with 10 points.
  22. Pinky - just out of spite. 😊
  23. And Bassitt has an excellent inning of relief in the 8th in game 7 of the ALCS.
  24. Excellent - it looked pretty scary. 👍
