Zips are playing tough. Awfully hard to battle against a team that's about a half a foot taller you at every position.

They made up for it. 😊

The Vermont and St. Louis finals went the way we needed them to. Hopefully enough for the Zips to get at a top 16 seed.

The announcers sounded stunned that they actually called a foul on Purdue.

Hate the way that Smith does the shot fake and then slams his body into the defender. I know it's a legitimate play, but I hate that we keep falling for it and I hate it in general. 😂

There are some great games in there, you'd assume that in the first four where there are direct Zips opponents it would be best for them to win. Funny that the worst matchup of the day by RPI numbers is the Big Ten final.

Four teams fighting for the final three spots and the Zips are the odd team out with a loss to Toledo. They had an ok year finishing at .500 in conference and above .500 overall but still very frustrating as they beat every team that made the tournament except Miami and 17-1 Ball State. What killed them were a number of losses to teams that ended up below them in the standings including cellar-dwelling Kent State. 🤮

Kansas only beat Princeton by 19, bring 'em on! 😊

Netters beat Toledo 3-0 tonight. If they beat Toledo tomorrow they qualify for the playoffs (and potentially knock Toledo out since the Zips will finish with the same record and took both games of the series so will finish ahead of Toledo). The Zips can still qualify with a loss but BGSU must lose to Buffalo. The Zips will win the tiebreaker with BGSU. They split their two games but the Zips have a win over a higher ranked team (WMU) than BGSU does.

Georgetown dominated Providence 2-0 in the second semifinal.

Those 16 steals are an all-time NCAA D-1 record. I watched the game for a bit at the start of the second half and they were getting destroyed. Saw one Zips basket and Notre Dame running all over them. Now they are a top 15 team, so I have no idea how the Zips stayed as close as they did.

Where does Purdue find this pipeline on 7'4" players? He's no Zach Edey but I'd still be happy to have him.

The Zips are certainly testing themselves with a challenging OOC scheduled to start the season, but there's challenging and suicidal. Oakland also started with Purdue (when they were #1) and Michigan (#6) and Houston (new #1).

No #MACTION tonight. No game closer than 17 which is what CMU is up on Buffalo, who has played the weakest schedule in the MAC but they will likely be going Bowling. Toledo thumping Miami and NIU taking UMass to the woodshed.
