So the MAC and other midmajor leagues have struggled with trying to protect their top seeds in a variety of ways. Remember the sort-lived experiment where the top two seeds got automatic placement into the semifinals? So to keep that from happening but also help the top seeds, what about the NFL model of lowest remaining seed plays the highest remaining seed so if the 12 upsets the 5 say then the 4 wouldn't automatically get benefit of the upset. Unfortunately it wouldn't do anything for "home field advantage" but it might protect the higher seeds a little better and would be really easy to pull off since all of those teams would be at the Q anyway.

ESPN has it as almost an exact tossup. 49.6% chance for the Zips vs. 50.4% for the Flushes.

And the best part is there is only one Akron loss in the games they profiled ?

Ouch. Loss to Buffalo dropped the Zips from 65 to 80 in the NET rankings. Still the highest ranked MAC team for now but that one hurt.

He scored a lot but I certainly wouldn't call that one of his typical games. He shot six of 17. And now that I look at it even Xeyrious didn't have that great a game he shot 5 of 14 and one of seven from three. Everybody seemed like they were just off a little bit tonight. Wow and other than LCJ the rest of the team was 3 of 20 from three.

Disappointing loss I hope we don't get any more top 25 votes seems like every time we get one it follows with a loss

Also every time I hear them interview LCJ after the game I like him even better. What a great young man and who would have guessed what kind of player he was going to turn into.

It's hard to look too bad with a 16-point halftime lead. Ohio made a little run to get back within seven and then the Zips stepped on the gas.

Not that the Zips schedule has been that tough either, but just checked our two biggest East competitors schedules, we'll know if BGSU is real over the next six games. @Tol, BSU, @Buff, @CMU, Tol, @Akr. That's pretty brutal. Buffalo isn't quite as bad but they do have the Zips, BGSU, Toledo and CMU in four of their next seven. This is going to really shake out over the next three weeks.
