The SEC pays more than the other conferences. That really helps. Just be sure to make the check out to the parents and make sure the athletes say they didn't know about it and all is well. They are also very good at never self reporting and then stonewalling the NCAA the entire way through an investigation. Also be sure to be like Alabama and find the way to sign the equal of 7 recruiting classes over a 5 year period. Then just cut the guys that aren't good enough.

I am going to say this and I know I will be disagreed with but here goes. Akron has a lot better talent on this team than to be 2-22 the last 2 years. Not saying this is MAC champ calibre, but it certainly in the upper half. I beleive that you will see more wins just because we will have a coach that knows how to coach these guys up and the negative attitude will be gone from the locker room.

Ha, Not Herbstreit. LOL. Akron tried to snake their way out of paying JD when he left even though they fired him. There are some behind the scenes stuff that made TW look like more of an ass than most of us already thought. Think about the way Reno was treated here also.

I love BW & hope he stays. But he rarely "blew up" a play. Most of his tackles were 3,4 & 5 yards downfield. He's excellent at reading plays. But I really believe a big reason his stats were so gaudy was because the rest of the team was so weak. Someone had to make the tackle. It was usually BW. I think he'll kinda disappear on a team with more talent. IMHO, his best bet (for NFL exposure) would be to remain a Zip. Exactly right. Wagner is a good MAC player. He is the only good player on the UA defense. He wouldn't even start om most of the top 40 teams in the country, let alone be a star.

I will say this when others have said bad things about Akron. There is a true college football insider that is connected with Ohio and national college football that has stated that Akron is the best job in the MAC and 2nd best in Ohio with the facilites and potential to challenge anyone. He has stated that many college football people agree with this too. I won't say who said this because I will be attacked for where it came from, but this guy knows his stuff and admittedly hates Akron because of the way Akron treated JD. He thinks TW is a bad person. But he has stated Akron is a sleeping giant in football.

Perhaps his name recognition and the appealing depth chart will help him salvage a decent recruiting class. Start winning and that bring the recruits. With an even coaching playing field, we should dominate recruiting in the MAC based on facilities alone. If we have better coaching, good times are coming.
