How was the new stadium going to beat them? Make a tackle? Don't throw an interception? Our players were going to be bigger, stronger and faster because of the new stadium?I'm more concerned about being the best team in a bad conference. I actually think UofA needs to stop scheduling more than one BCS team per year. It isn't helping.I think everyone needs to brace themselves for a loss at Syracuse later in the year. The new stadium helps with momentum. I don't beleive Indiana is bigger stronger and faster. I think, as usual, Akron wasn't prepared. Do ou think N. Illinois is bigger faster and stonger than Purdue is? I don't. Other MAC teams seemto find a way. Akron never does. How does it help with momentum?Take out the program and compare the size of players. You will see a difference. It was obvious on TV today. The difference isn't overwhelming, but there is a difference.I think you are right. UofA wasn't prepared. They weren't prepared for their starting QB getting the boot the night before the game.So UofA is just as big, fast and strong as IU, but NIU isn't as big, fast and strong as PU. I'm confused...which is it?How does the stadium help with momentum??? Did you really just ask that question??You got my point exactly. You are confused that is my point....Akron should have won today. But as usual, we lost...I did ask the question and I'm still waiting the answer. I'd love to hear you back up some of the comments you make on this board periodically.I saw on TV today that IU has improved their facilities as well. Maybe you are saying IU's stadium beat UofA's stadium today? For those of you who think IU is the bottom of the Big Ten, I would reserve judgement until the end of the year. They are 3-0 now with winable games against Northwestern and Purdue. Squeeze in one other win this year and they go bowling. What question didn't I answer? Oh it must have been the stadium question. If you don't understand what the home field advantage in a new stadium is, nothing I say can explain it to you. What other points do I make on here that you want backed up?Bring it?

This was his chance.Indiana Sucks. Yes, they do.A very beatable Big10 team at homeNew stadiumEverything in UA favor and we lose again and it isn't even close. This is ridiculous.Other MAC teams not only give B10 teams a scare, but actually beat them. Akron has never even put a scare into a B10 team in the modern era.

It does have to do with talent, but not in the areas where people look. The skill players at tOSU are for the most part just as fast and big as the players in the three major conferences. Where they have no athletic talent is on the offensive and defensive lines and LB positions. USC beat OSU because they created a match-up on 3rd & 17 late in the game where a far superior athlete was covered by a slow "suburban" LB from tOSU. Game over. With the addition of Pryor, they will see increasingly less skill players. Any kid with pro aspirations would not attend tOSU with him there. He can't throw the ball and the skill player would not be able to showcase his talents. Tressel is "all in" with Pryor. I'm not certain what he was trying to accomplish with him.tOSU is the best team in an increasingly bad conference. The do have to go to PSU and UofM is getting better. The Big Ten needs UofM to be good in orded for the country to take the league seriously.I've been reading the Columbus Dispatch a little this week. The coachers down there want Tressel fired for not winning big games. The truth is, he was not brought to tOSU to win big games. He was brought there to do two things: First, beat Michigan. He does that. Second, run a clean program. With a few exceptions, he runs a clean program. They did not hire him to win national championships. If they fire him, and they won't, they deserve their next John Cooper.I don't want to get into this with you, but you are very wrong. Both OSU DE will be in the NFL. They have recruited the top linebacking class the last 2 years in a row. There problem isn't defense. On offense they recruited 2 5*OT 2 years ago and one of the top o-line classes last year. The problem is Tressel and his archaic high school offense. If he doesn't get him self a real o coordinator soon, he will be gone.USC beat OSU because OSU has no offense. OSU beat USC up and down the field all night. Pete Caroll even admiited to that.USC had no answer to the OSU defense...Sow suburban linebacker. You mean like first round picks, Hawk, Carpenter and Laurainitis...Keep that crap to yourself.Sorry to discuss this guys, I am only responding to someone else.I have to respectfully disagree. Perhaps it is your obsession with recruiting and what people on Scouts, etc. say about players, but when the Big Ten (tOSU) players get on the field with guys like USC's, they are not as athletic. That tells me either sites like Scouts are wrong (and they frequently are) or there is an evaluation problem at tOSU.Like I said, tOSU has players that are just as athletic as their superiors. The problem is they don't have enough.Hawk, Carpenter and Laranitis are second tier NFL player to guys like Troy P. in Pittsburgh and the Bengals first round pick. I don't even know whey the Cowboys keep Carpenter around....he is a nothing. Hawk starts because they don't have anyone else. Laranitis, we'll see....I think he is another Carpenter. Just because a player is drafted in the first round doesn't make them a great player. Ever hear the words "draft bust". It defines a lot of tOSU players. The point I was making had nothing to do with how well these guys do in the NFL. They were selected as first round picks which obviously means they were great college players..Have you seen Thad Gibson or Nathan Williams play DE? They are faster than most USC and SEC DE.Sabino and Bell are both 4.4 guys playing lb. Athleticism has nothing to do with it. Like I said earlier, OSU ran USC over last week. The OSU offense was non existent. Not because of athletes, but because of coaching.

I am impressed. Being an alum of 2 different schools, I never thought I would see the day when an Indiana fan would talk smack.. -
Imagine our D-line if some of those guys were still here..There was some good DL talent on the 2006 class.

What's going on with the building around the stadium? I thought they were supposed to run the corner and go around the open end of the stadium. Does anyone have any update on that? -

That is sweet. Very nice. -
The B10 has really gone to crap. There are only 3 teams that are regulars in the top 20.PSU, OSU and UM. UM won't be down for long.I don't think it has a lot to do with talent. If you look at recruiting, those 3 still are usually in the top 15 in recruiting each year. The difference is coaching. The B10 still has that smash mouth philosophy which is outdated.

Sorry guys but I have never been overly impressed with our band. I remember back to the Jackaboice(sp) and Romeo days and thought the band back then was much better. Sorry if I offended anyone, just being honest. I still remember a few years ago when Akron played Hampton or Howard or one of those D1AA schools. There were 2 other bands there and they completely blew away the Akron band. I was there with my son and we both were getting upset when the UA band would try to play at the same time as the other bands. Most of it was music selection. The other bands played much better music. IMHO.

Yep, there were a ton on the field before the game. I think JD said in his press conference yesterday that there were 45 recruits at the game. I'm sure there will be a big amount at the Indiana game, as well. I have to believe that experience will get some of those guys to commit pretty quickly.45 recruits and only about 9 scholarships remaining to offer. We should get some really good kids out of the those final 9 schollies.More than likely they weren't all 2010 recruits.

if Akron doesn't win this one, I doubt they will ever beat a B10 team in my lifetime.Momentum, the new stadium, home field advantage, and Indiana sucks.

You have cable without ESPN!!! What plan is that? The "less than basic" plan for $4.95 a month?Less than Basic....

And show me pictures..

I am pleased. Thank you. I thought you said he quit though....I find it interesting that you are bothered by me questioning the ability of this staff to recruit players that actually make the team. You obviously disagree...I never said he quit. You did. Use the search function on our site. Type in "Marquinn." You'll find all related posts. It is very easy.As far as retention is concerned, you again elect to ingore facts. Zipboy spelled it out a while ago in this post.Tonga is here. Davis is here. Homayed is here. Herderson will likely be here in the spring. Retention in the last 3 years is excellent. If you want to dwell on 4-5 years ago, that's your call.http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?sh...amp;hl=marquinnMy apologies, you said he is off the team...I never said he quit. I asked what happened. You said he is off.As far as retention, I did read what Zipboy posted. I didn't ignore anything. That is his opinion. I have also stated in the past that I too think it is getting better. However, once again, 2 Quit, Brandt and Houser, and 4 more aren't eligible as of today.Hopefully they all make it and will be ready to go for spring ball and next season. However, this is a bad percentage to start the season. If you don't agree with that, I don't know what to tell you.

Enjoy the Mogen David. La Chaim Didn't he used to be the Zips beat writer? No. That was David Lee Moron.

I am with you. I hope they leave them on.

Excellent. I can imagine French having a coronary if the Zips pulled it out. That would do more for the program than any of us could imagine. Just think of the young recruits that don't even know where Akron is. They see that big win. Then they get contacted by the school and come for a visit. Then they see the facilities and new stadium...Wow.

Really surprised he didn't rs last year. It was a wasted year for him.He seemed like he is a player for the little bit we saw of him.Good story. Hope it all works out for him.
