  1. Woodson doesn't look like a D1 quarterback to me. Then again, nobody on offense looked too good this year.
  2. Saw quite a few jump balls thrown to short receivers. Pohl's fault?
  3. will be in akron tonite. In vallley or montrose. Any place u guys can recommend?
  4. I'll never forget we had a contest here: What will be the first play Akron runs on offense at the new stadium? I absolutely knew it would be an end-around to Jeremy Bruce, the short, wr that was not particularly fast. Why? Because that's the play an idiot would choose.
  5. Frye should get an * next to his name for having suffered with the Browns O-line. Or perhaps maybe ** for having Maurice Carthon as OC.
  6. We won the MAC with our A-Roo's. Is that logo now gone from our athletic dept? Damn, lets have some kind of tradition to hold onto.
  7. This is a cool helmet.
  8. I would have liked to have our Kangaroo emblem on the other side.
  9. Agree. Incorporate the A-Roo and the Z...they're both great.
  10. I have admittedly not seen as many games as I would've liked. However, what I have seen has been ugly. It looks to me like we are constantly having to "gut out" wins against teams that are not as talented as we are. That shouldn't be. The offense has no fluidity to it. It's an ugly thing, like it's as if the players have no chemistry. I don't know what the right answer is, but it's undeniable that the program is stagnant.
  11. Brilliant idea. This post should be pinned at the top!!
  12. ^ Punter Darren Bennett. \ Man I saw him put some nice hits on people.
  13. Edelman is fun to watch. Glad to see C Frye had a hand in helping him to take his game to the next level.
  14. The JAR once again looked very telegenic. It always looks good on tv. The floor looked stellar. I really liked how ESPN went into the locker areas and raved about how nice they were. You couldn't miss that huge wall mural of LeBron ha ha. However, what's so obvious is that the setup with the seating is just very very bad. I know the crowd was kinda out of the game for the most part. But with no discernible student section, the crowd on tv just looked extra bored and elderly. It would be so much nicer to have the students and younger, more energetic types a bit closer to the action.
  15. I've seen the guy who bought the Rubber Bowl during that awesome auction (I'm being totally sarcastic it was far from awesome). Let's just say he didn't strike me as any kind of financial genius. MMA? Circus? High school football when there's already Infocision? Uh, that growing sport of...boxing??? These ideas are really stupid, and not even nearly as good as the marijuana grow center concept that was proposed in jest. This area will be a trailer park, once again, if anything.
  16. How about stagnant or even decreasing attendance? I'd say that's just as compelling an argument to influence and expedite an immediate need for a new arena.
  17. Exactly. For me Romeo edges J Wood for that reason.
  18. Wow, 18 point SC lead and we look hapless...I'm going to the beach. Good luck Zippers, hope to be at the Q again this year.
  19. I'm in California so I can only see the Zips on tv this year. But man, does this team have any sort of chemistry on offense? Please tell me it's just SC's tough defense, because we are looking bad. If SC's shots were falling - and thank God they are not - we'd be down by 20 in this lst half.
  20. Was there today. What a decrepid mess that place is. Beyond depressing. Auction items turned out to be mostly a bunch of junk. The scoreboard sold for $1,000.00. But anything cool or of nostalgic value has been long gone from that place. On a positive note: the hype brought Fox 8 news down. They will be airing a little segment about the Rubber Bowl on Sunday. Plus there will be something on the news 6pm and 10pm tonight.
  21. Visiting from California. Had a very successful tailgate session. Successful because I drank so much I didn't care at all about the actual game. Though it was nice to trash talk the OU fans when we had the commanding lead (3-2) going into the Stadium. Thanks Zips football for giving me the day that, deep down, I expected.
  22. Keep bashing Cleveland. And Akron is the rubber capital of the world right? This is pointless. If you live in Northeast Ohio and don't take advantage of the great sports and cultural institutions that BOTH Akron and Cleveland offer, then you're missing out on life.
  23. What is wrong with Cleveland? I think Cleveland is awesome. I live in San Diego now and while the weather and beaches are amazing it just lacks the great character and incredible history that Cleveland has. Maybe it's because I'm not originally from Ohio that I see things differently. I'm constantly arguing with negative Akronites and Clevelanders about just how great Northeast Ohio truly is. Anyhow, sorry for going off topic. There are tons of Cleveland sports fans all over the world who are classy knowledgeable and die hard supporters.
  24. It's a fatalistic, loser mentality that's sadly endemic in Northeast Ohio. I wish more people could be positive because when you put things in perspective there's really plenty to be optimistic about.
