Man Trent Dilfer stunk up the joint last week and a buddie of mine said he hear that Charlie was going to start..I found this on yahoo... Oct 25 Trent Dilfer will remain at quarterback for the Browns, but his grip on the starting job may be loosening. "At this point, we're making no personnel changes," Browns coach Romeo Crennel told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "That's not to say that I might not make one [later in the week]. I could. But as of right now, that's where we are. I think that you try to give [Dilfer] the benefit of the doubt and not make knee-jerk reactions. You can say what is a knee-jerk? How long does it take? That's a judgment thing and the coach has to decide that." Dilfer had his worst outing of the season in Sunday's 13-10 loss to the Detroit Lions, posting a dismal 22.4 passer rating. The Browns' veteran quarterback finished the game 10 of 19 for 73 yards with three interceptions and no touchdowns. He was sacked four times as well, tying a season high. I hope Frye has been keeping himself prepared and ready.

Everyone knows if we win games people will show up.....look at the Indians, Cavs, and Browns...when they sucked they were giving away tickets, Lebron shows up win some games now you can't get tickets, When Bernie played same thing, it's only a matter of time before the front runners come.....I bet it is when we have a solid team, win the MAC championship, and have over half the team returning when we play Ohio State.

Current Conference Standings Ohio 1-0 Bowling Green 1-0 Akron 1-1 Miami (OHIO) 1-2 Buffalo 0-1 Can't State 0-3 Akron still has to play OU, BG, and Miami Miami still has to play OU, Akron, and BG BG still has to play OU AKRON, and Miami ya see the top 4 all still have to play each other, by no means is "ANYONE" out of it yet.

They won't be missed, the weren't even in the conference that long just like central florida. Oh well I am sure their fate will be the same. As a former player and 2 year starter I will tell you that fan support does matter, When it is the fourth quarter your tired and drenched in sweat, hearing the crowd cheer defense or chanting let's go zips does something to you, it gives you that extra umph you need to make the play. I had never experienced a losing season until I came to the university of akron, I had to learn to depend upon myself for that extra motivation at the end of the game because you aren't going to get it from the fans. And as a former player the last thing a player wants to hear after a loss is you guys are pathetic, fingerpointing and blaming. Do you guys think players don't read some of the ignorant stuff you guys type? COnfidence is a funny thing, cheers are sometimes hard to hear sometimes but boo's are always loud and clear!

Well I am from Massillon and the tigers shoot off a cannon after every touchdown! So I am used to hearing a cannon after every score I think it should stay so all the neighboring people that didn't come to support the zips hear them doing well and maybe inclined to come to the next home game, and I especially agree that it "wakes people up" which is also a good thing! I think the fireworks makes it more festive and exciting, kids love seeing fireworks and it presents the atmosphere of "putting on a show" and around northeast ohio we need all the extra's to make it exciting and entertaining, because like someone else mentioned good football ain't enough!!

Good point I never though of it that way! Now I have another valid point when I argue....I mean debate with Buckeye fans....it's funny because half of the buckeye fans I know didn't attend ohio state or college for that matter.

Akron became 1A in the 80's if I am correct, did they get respect back then? I am just curious, I just get irritated when people say the only good college football team in Ohio is Ohio State. Don't people realize that Mount Union, Youngstown State, and Ohio State all have national titles. Don't people also realize that Ohio has more division 1 colleges that 90% of the other 50 states. hell if we combined Miami and OU, Akron and Can't, BGSU and Toledo. Then when would be like Florida State, Miami, and Florida. We still have Cincy that I left out too. And Youngstown is borderline 1A status. I just wanna know why is it that it's cool to go to Ohio State but not to any other Ohio MAC school? Sorry for the rant guys I am just proud of the hard work the Zips put out but recieve respect only when board members b!t(h to get it!!

Miami looked pretty good last night I am trying to figure out how they lost to Central Michigan did they just not play well or is Central that good?

I think we are gonna take it to them in front of a larger crowd than the home opener. There are alot of people mad they missed a good game so I expect a larger crowd, causing our team to be pumped up. I am gonna say the score will be 38 - 21 Akron.

Guys it is way too early to be having this conversation, as the person above me stated everyone was saying the same thing about Lee O. now what is everyone saying, everyone knows we get little respect, it will take atleast 2 maybe 3 championships before people say it is good coaching and not a lucky streak, or fluke.

cause we get no respect.... ditto, they beat Tennesee Tech and played close with Northwestern, that doesn't justify enough points to be above a team you lost to this early in the season, so in my eyes Akron is 3 instead of 4.

Ball State, Buffalo, and Army are 2, 3, and 8 on the bottom 10 respectively. All of which are our future opponents!!

I think it is resonable to say that at the very least we will be 8 wins4 loses or win out!! Things definately just got more difficult because now no one will overlook again. As far as Lee Corso coming to the RB i doubt it but it would be awsome!!!

Are you serious "The Zips were 7 point underdogs against the conference elite, playing the first home game, with new whistle, and went into overtime and an won!!! And you mean to tell me there was no story about it?

That's an awsome job you are doing by shaking things up. I read the UA response in defense to the ABJ and it shouldn't matter if we win our not it is your home team and should be covered. If the Browns lost everygame they would still cover them in the plain dealer.

Man I am gonna say this is gonna be a close game because the Zips will be highly pumped up with it being the first home game, the new whistle, the GMAC being their, and I have faith that JB will watch the Michigan film and exploit their weaknesses, Ball control and keep the ball out of Wolfe's hands by keeping him on the sidelines. I think it will be a close game, being a former football player I refuse to say the Zips will lose so I will just say I am praying for the upset!!

This is looking like more of a possibility if we continue to improve!!
