  1. Both Luke Getsy and Andy Alleman were officially invited to the NFL Combine.http://www.nflcombine.net/files/invlist/last_name_sort.html
  2. For the love of god KD call a TO. This is getting ridiculous.
  3. I don't pretend to be a basketball know-it-all but I was at the game tonight cheering my butt of with the Rowdies (BTW, the continued lack of any emotion out of the reserved seat crowd is pathetic and inexcusable, you should have to sign a waiver when you buy those tickets that you will at least make some kind of sound during the evenings festivities). Here are the few observations I can come up with.-I didn't look at the box score, but Winston Salem had to have an absolute sick night from 3 point range. Seemed like every time they hoisted one up from behind the arch it was going in. It contributed to keeping them close.-Sloppy Sloppy play on the offensive side of things praticularly in the first half for the zips. It looked like we came out expecting to whollup these guys and play some street ball and it just wasn't happening. Poor shot selection, some really dumb passes, some really stupid turnovers. Again it contributed to keeping them close.-Looked like KD expected an easy one too and brought some of the reserves off the bench early. Conyers and McKnight in praticular were in early. McKnight came back later. Conyer no. Wonder if that means anything. -The refs were getting REALLY ticky tacky on both sides it seems. It was really aggrevating and it interupted the flow of the game a lot.-Cedrick is as clutch a player as we have on this team. That prayer at the buzzer at the half was just amazing. I hate to be down on him, but thats a shot that I've seen Dru miss too many times. If it comes down to a situation like that later on in the year I want the ball in Ced's hands.
  4. I love this quote from Scout on Simkovich: Man, we got ourselves one BIG O-lineman there.
  5. First off, lay off the caps man. We can hear you. Really we can.Second off noone is calling out the board here. I merely stated that it would have been nice for EVERYONE who is a member to have been informed about this beforehand. This is a student group and as students we all have finals coming up and are getting blitzed with homework. We can't all drop everything for a mandatory meeting at a moments notice.
  6. Would have been nice if we would have gotten more than half a days notice for this thing. Some of us can't simply drop all of our studies at a moments notice to go get our shirts.
  7. 2007 is the year by which to judge JD. These are primarily going to be his guys in his scheme. We can't continue making the same stupid mistakes (penalties and turnovers in praticular) that we've made this year. I'd really like to get rid of this ridiculous gimmick defense. Even with a good rover like Mackey it is way to suspect against the run. The MAC is changing right now. In the years to come the teams that will win will have mobile QB's, good ground games and be able to stop the run (both by RB's and by QB's). We have mobile QB's in Jackson and Hakes. But I worry about our ability to stop the run.
  8. Start him, give him the whole game. Look, this season is pretty much over in terms of reaching the post season and Getsy has not shown much of that swagger that we saw in Detroit last year (if any). Lets get this kid in there and get him ready to open the show in the Horseshoe next year.
  9. Blocked punt. I can't listen to this anymore. I'm out of here.
  10. Offsides on the XP? How undisciplined do you have to be to be offside on the XP?
  11. ok this is ridiculous. INT for a TD by the Rockets. Down 14-0 already.
  12. So Akron starts off with more sloppy play. Personal foul penalty again. Zips look like they can overcome it and Getsy throws a pick. Welcome to Zips football 2007.
  13. Am I the only one a little curious to see JD add a "Coaching" section to those grades? Maybe it is just me but I'd like to see how he feels about his own performance. Maybe I'm getting a little annoying with this but I think we've been pretty clearly outcoached a couple times this year (granted JD and staff wiped Amato's behind) praticularly at Can't State. Lets not forget that a big part of what got LO fired was losing to Can't (once).
  14. I'm sorry but the more and more I hear stuff like this the more I can't help but think that JD has lost control of this team.
  15. This one is on the coaching staff boys. I hate to say it but if Cincy wants JD they can have him. I was once a beliver, and I could accept Army and Ball State last year. I could accept some of the blowout loses his first season on the sideline. This team we have right now has clearly not been taught the fundamentals properly. Stupid penalties, blown tackles, dropped passes and the like are becoming the norm for this team as opposed to the exception. Blame the schedule all you want but Can't and Cincy were two VERY beatable teams that the Zips have come out and played flat pathetic against. JD isn't going anywhere soon boys, but now I can't say for sure if that is such a good thing.
  16. This one has to go back to the coaching staff. This kind of consistently sloppy play is an indication of a coaching staff that has either lost their team or lost the ability to adequatley prepare their team. One or two stupid penalties, I can take. Thats on the players. 5,6,7 or 8 dumb false start, holding and interference calls a game is on the coaching staff. Its unacceptable and speaks to a lack of focus. One or two dropped passes, I can take. Thats on the players. Consistently dropping key balls in the endzone, on third down and at crucial parts of the game the way we have the last week is on the coaching staff. It's unacceptable and speaks to a lack of fundamentals which the offensive coaches apparently aren't emphasizing. It isn't just one player either. Jabar, Kasparek, Lindsey and today even Harvey made key drops like it was their job.One or two missed tackles, I can take. Thats on the players. Consistently whiffing on tackles and not wrapping guys up and following through on the play is on the coaching staff. Its unacceptable and speaks to a lack of discipline and fundamentals being taught by the coaching staff.Bottom line, do we have leadership? No. The players aren't stepping up and taking accountability for their own play and the coaches aren't doing their jobs in getting this team ready to play good sound fundamental football week in and week out. I can't help but question JD and his staff right now.
  17. Forget Kosar, I think Steven Hawking could run for over 100 yards on our defense.
  18. And we get nothing out of it. Harvey drops one. First real mistake all season for the frosh.
  19. GROZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Defense missing more tackles. Why can't we finish plays????
  21. Typical Zips football. Do a few things good the get caught patting yourselves on the back.
  22. Where was this team last week????
  23. Akron pulls away to an early lead before calling off the dogs in the second half.Halftime score: Akron 29 Can't 7Final score: Akron 35 Can't 10
  24. CJ did get the last offensive series of the game didn't he? Or am I mistaken
  25. Funny, cause I seem to remember something like that happening the last time we came into you guys house. If I recall right you were even so kind as to put on a fireworks show after the game so we could celebrate our victory. Are you guys doing that again this year for us? It was a very nice gesture. Showed that even though this is supposedly a rivalry game that you indeed know your place and that you can accept it and be happy for our success. My memory might be a little off though.
