It was a beautiful day for golf. The event was well attended with a full slate of foursomes in both the morning and afternoon flights. I played in a foursome with Steve McNees and Charles Thomas. The most interesting comment from them was how impressed they were with Kwan Cheatham. It's way too early to make any guarantees , but he has such a good offensive game that if he can play any defense he has a chance to get some minutes next season. For a guy who is 6'9" he is a really good ball handler. He also can shoot off the dribble. What makes that interesting is this from the Zips Media guide.

It looks like the UPA has run its course. University Park Alliance’s $6 million grant, $1.8 million loan is canceled by Knight Foundation; $500,000 given instead The Knight Foundation has pulled the plug and it looks like things will be winding down in the next year.

They played at Rayen High School Stadium actually. Watched the Zips lose to a Ron Jaworski led Penguin squad in the pouring rain at Rayen. Remember the Side Saddle T? Jaws threw a TD pass on the last play of the game to put the Guins on top.

If we ever get a new arena I will definitely upgrade my tickets. I would imagine I'm not the only one who has the same idea.

Lighten up a little 71. Go Zips is just having some fun. It's only summer practice and we have to find something to talk about. Big Dog will have a nice career for the Zips, but he is still just a typical Freshman. Except that he is a mountain of a teenager.

Dru dropped in to say hello. After practice was over he shot some baskets and shot the breeze with KD and a few others.

At the golf outing, John Pont told me they were hoping to sign him. He is going to a wildcard type of player. They will line him up all over the field and let him make some big plays.
