  1. They've already started moving them around. The Zippy Capital One banner and both banners honoring our all-time winning coaches have been moved to the sidelines. They still need to find new locations for the flags; American, Ohio and UA.
  2. On a couple of those deep throws for incompletions we had wide open tight ends cutting across the middle of the field. Woodson needs to quit trying to hit a homerun so often.
  3. They need to relocate some of the hanging banners to keep them from blocking the view from the top rows of the bleachers
  4. St Marys was a very good opponent. Defensively, they kept the Zips bottled up most of the night.
  5. That's why this intervention by the FBI is so important. When the NCAA investigates the big programs have army's of lawyers and plenty of money to make it go away. Coaches make sure insulate themselves from what ever wrongdoings and assure the assistant coaches they will take of them financially for taking the blame. In this case, the assistants are looking at time in the Federal slammer. They are going to throw their bosses under the bus for reduced sentences.
  6. All the heavy I-beams have been welded into place and painted. They are needed to support the much larger video board. Now the skeletal structure is being assembled.
  7. Kizer is the first guy I have seen in a Browns uniform that looks like a competent QB. Sure he has made mistakes, but most of them were because of aggresive play. He has the size, agility, arm strength and brains to be an NFL QB. Now he just needs more experience and a better supporting cast to be successful.
  8. Political correctness is a modern form of left wing McCarthyism. It's why the mainstream media is afraid to call out the groups promoting this nonsense for fear of being labeled as racists, bigots etc...
  9. It should be finished by next Monday.
  10. From today in the JAR lobby.
  11. Dre, I appreciate your input on this topic and I even used one of my likes on a post you made earlier in this thread . On this subject I have to question who is really causing this so called racial divide on city council. The idea of a holiday in honor of indigenous peoples is a worthy cause. Proposing it to replace Columbus day, a holiday which many Italian Americans celebrate their culture was clearly not a good idea. Even the councilman who offered the ordinance admitted he never even considered the impact it might have in the community. The rush to right all the supposed wrongs of the last 3 centuries is not a realistic idea. You can learn from history, but you can't change it.
  12. The airport is doing fine. The FBO is busy and all hangers are full. The old terminal is used as corporate headquarters for Theken, a medical implant manufacturing company. They are also building a large addition right next door. Stricklands still fills the parking lots most nights and the other bars seem busy too. The blimp hanger was just re-skined in the last 10 years. http://www.lockheedmartin.com/us/who-we-are/eesh/remediation/akron.html

  14. I remember going the the Flying Machine mid seventies to drink 3.2 beer. They actually had some pretty good acts like the Ramones, the Runaways and Steppenwolf. As far as the Pelican Cove property I think is sat empty for a number of years after the amusement park closed. http://clevelandrockandroll.com/?p=1643 http://wncx.cbslocal.com/2013/09/04/the-flying-machine-akron-steppenwolf/
  15. Our head coach doesn't even know the names of his players. More than once he refered to Woodson as "Tommy Young".
  16. There is an easy solution to this crap about not standing for the National Anthem. Keep the players in the locker room during the anthem.
  17. Btw, the Draft House was also known as The Flying Machine.
  18. From an article in the Suburbanite. "Sandy Beach Park, East Reservoir — Owned and operated as an amusement park from 1919 to 1965 by “Swanee” Warensford. Then operated as Pelican Cove - a bar/restaurant before being sold to developers for upscale housing"
  19. In your opinion, is playing that many matches a week a good thing?
  20. No way.
