A more likely scenario would be for the Browns to trade the first round pick they obtained from Indy for someone like Kirk Cousins and use their own pick on a DB or running back.
The second half was nothing more than a glorified practice. Lots of different combinations and players looking for some PT. Diggs only played 19 minutes, most of them in the first half. I don't fault the players for struggling to keep their focus when it was obvious we could have blown these guys out by 50 if we had kept the pedal to the metal. I think Melo is slowly playing himself out of the rotation. Late in the second half, KD almost inserted Ricardo Hill into the lineup before he thought better of it.
In case you missed the news last night, Coach Dan Peters has taken a leave of absense from the Zips Mens Basketball Team. Dan is battling pancreatic cancer and will start his treatment on Monday. 4 Petes Sake Please Keep Dan and his family in your prayers as he battles this deadly disease. The team has dedicated this season to him and will be wearing patches on their uniforms to show their support. Dan was planning on retiring after this season. Steve McNees will assume his duties for the foreseeable future.
The only time I ever visited Phoenix it snowed while I was there. The locals thought it was great but I was pissed because the golf course I was supposed to play was closed due to the weather.
I was more than a little surprised when Coach played Kwan burning his redshirt in the process. Just like DIG said, Kwan needs to work on defense and not making dumb fouls in practice to see more playing time. The season is just getting underway and I'm sure there will be opportunities for KC to get some PT if he works hard in practice.
I think KD feels his best chance a getting production from Melo And Deji is by having them in the starting lineup. Melo did'didn't do much but Deji had a nice game. They are both decent defenders and Deji can hit an open shot. I agree with JZ in that the main advantage might be that when we start to see substitutions is where the Zips real strategy shows. Quincy, Jake and Nyles are good enough to be starters on any team. Deji was also in the game at the end and performed well including blocking a 3 point attempt after CSU had closed the gap to 8 pts..
Today's story by GT is very telling. KD has been riding Evans very hard in the last few weeks of practice. Lets hope what we saw yesterday from Nyles is a sign of more good things to come. If he can start to hit those threes it will really help.
A final note, Alex Abreau was in attendance at the game. He was warmly greeted by many fans and supporters. I hope he is getting his life back on track.
My experience was negative also. He wanted nothing to do with the fans. Seemed like an arrogant know it all. That's a real problem when in reality he didn't know jack #%&@ about being a head coach.
My guess for yesterdays actual attendance is 3500 butts in the seats. Main reasons for lack of interest are Black Friday, early start time interfering with Black Friday shopping, 3 wins combined over the previous three seasons, cold weather.
That was the most fun I've had at a Zips FB game in long time. That was the most fun I've had at a the Big Dialer EVER! I'm glad I brought my lucky charm to the game with me today. Might have to talk to Joe Dunn about spreading some magic dust on the field for next season. I sense a winning record in the near future.
The Raiders just executed your play perfectly Dr Z. But unfortunately the safety made the tackle preventing the touchdown. Two plays later the Cowboys intercepted a pass in the end zone. Net result-zero points.
Not sure where you're getting your information regarding scholarship commitments. NCAA rules prohibit member institutions from making early offers. Some institutions skirt this rule by making informal offers to underclassmen but until the schools accepts a letter of commitment by a student athlete on or after the designated dates there is no binding contract.
