  1. Lost one to Ball State...compelling story.
  2. I want names! Skip, and who else?
  3. Maybe you were in the restroom? I never said blows were exchanged...Just some guys jawing back and forth. Cotton seemed to feed off it.
  4. Tonight had every bit the feel of a traditional Akron/OU game. Loved the OU guards running their mouths and the Zips shutting them up. The Zips defense was relentless for the better part of the night. Other than losing track of Block on a few occasions they did a great job of switching and cutting off the dribble penetration. Constant defensive hustle. Loved Cotton and Ivey closing it out at the FT line. Nice that the refs didn't get in the way of a good game tonight. By MAC standards, a well-refereed game. Kudos to whomever decided to display individual stats on the sideboards for the bulk of the game! Ball State lost to Kent tonight, so Saturday's game doesn't look quite as daunting as it did earlier in the season. Are the Cardinals prepared for The Kostelac Attack?
  5. Seems the side effect of having the early December signing period is an earlier "active" recruiting of the following year's class?
  6. What they're saying in Athens... Not much.
  7. Mark Montgomery can't be long for the NIU HC job. Midway through his 7th season, he sits at 84–123 (.406). It really amazed me how this decimated Zips team, with all it's injuries and defections, thoroughly whipped a healthy MAC team. Kudos to the coaching staff for keeping the guys focused. Cotton has been a revelation. Until 3 or 4 games ago he'd really shown nothing that'd foreshadow the run he's been on. Seems like he suddenly became confident, and it's made all the difference in the world. Patton isn't scoring all that much, but he continues to do a nice job on the boards. It will be fun to watch Kostelac develop. He's such a big strong kid as a true freshman. With an off season to work on a low post game, he should make a big impact as soon as next season. Overall, you have to be happy with the coaching, and subsequent growth of all the players. The young guys show continuous improvement, and the older ones have added a lot to their game. Nice to see the Zips honoring football's Andrew Hauser during the game...but they misspelled his name on the big screen - Houser? C'mon, man... Should be a fun Tuesday night game vs. OU. How this Zips teams has a chance against anyone is beyond me...but they do. Let's see Utomi go for 32 again!
  8. Someone's got Kostelac fever!?
  9. How is it possible that any healthy Division 1 men's basketball team is an underdog to this Zips team?
  10. Hosting the mighty 9-10 George Mason patriots today.
  11. Strong, tough kid. I wish we'd have given him a longer look. Oh well...
  12. Dukes lose by 13 to the 9-10 Billikens.
  13. FAU QB Retires
  14. Sorry...I was thinking he was a 2017 senior. No inside info.
  15. HA! Thought the same thing!
  16. My hope for the offensive line hinges on whether or not Deltron Sands production at the end of the Buffalo game was real, or an illusion. Buffalo knew we were going to run, we ran, and they still couldn't stop Sands. 7 carries for 70 yards. He and the OL moved the chains at-will to close-out the win. Edwards and Morgan are good, durable backs. I'm glad they came to UA. But neither are especially strong, shifty or fast. Tough to bank on Sands for 2018. I hope he's healthy. But he had 2 shoulder injuries, and then a season ending leg injury... all last year. Those are Newman Williams-type numbers. I'm looking forward to seeing the fresh corp of heralded RB's this spring, and seeing if their accolades match their performance. We need a game-breaker RB in the worst way. If we find one (or 2), it'll make the OL look a lot better.
  17. They had such bad talent they only beat Pitt by 9 last season. Lost by 12 this season.
  18. Big game tonight at Saint Louis (8-10, 1-4) Om nom nom?
  19. Love RC. Always brings energy to the floor!
  20. Would InfoCision fill up for midget car racing?
  21. Get Kostelac and Sayles a ton of minutes. It will pay off next season. The blessing in Gordon Hayward's (Boston Celtics) broken leg is the expedited development of Jayson Tatum. With extended PT I could see Sayles development taking a huge leap forward over the next few weeks. The regular season is a wash. From here on out, give the young guys a ton of minutes and see what they're made of. In the MAC Tourney, field your best possible line up and see what happens...you never know.
  22. Wow...I saw his leg wrapped during the Buffalo game and thought he was out with some minor knee problem? Hope he has a full and speedy recovery. I agree with Clark - seems like a great, hard-working kid.
  23. Just received a call from UA informing me the game time is 4:30 pm. This is different than the schedule I printed from GoZips.com last month, which lists it as a 2 pm start.
