Most of the article was good, at least as MAC previews go. But the guy obviously made a few things up when he was too lazy to research it. I see the Zips at 6-6 this year. Perhaps 7-5 if a game-breaker emerges on offense. Perhaps 5-7 if Pohl misses any appreciable time at QB.

So who's gone? I'm guessing Evans will be given the opportunity to find another team...probably Div 2, unless he can graduate this summer. Betancourt gone? Could be. If Robotham is as good as advertised, Betancourt will likely be back to an appropriate 5-8 minutes per game. Maybe he won't like being a back up? Maybe he knows that's as good as it's going to get for him, and he embraces it? Other than the mercurial Harney potentially walking off into the sunset, I don't see any other possibilities. Ibitayo's going to play his senior season @ UA. Maybe Kretzer gives his head a year's rest and redshirts this year (wild-ass speculation only)? Oh, and what if Abreu comes back? Too bad the BB golf outing isn't tomorrow.

Wasn't Darryl Roberts a scholarship player who decided to quit? Then returned to the team after his scholarship was given to another player? That is a far cry from being a true walk on. Jesus...I know the quality of posts on ZipsNatiion has eroded recently, but don't think everyone is stupid here. Roberts was a scholarship player who screwed himself out of a scholarship. Tim Carroll was a great kid, but his contributions on the court were virtually nil. Pick the level of good sports talk up here, people. Please.

There hasn't been a walk on under Dambrot who's played even a slightly significant role on the Zips basketball team. With our PG position as it is, it unfortunately wouldn't shock me if a walk on Freshman could see significant minutes. I do like the kid from Houston. Even at 150 lbs, I'd pencil him in as the starter next year. He can pass, AND make an open lay up. That's good enough for me.

HOF Luncheon

Awesome pick up by the Zips. I am shocked that there is even one iota of doubt about it. As solid-yet-unspectacular as Chisholm is, there's been no one I've seen with the ability to fill his shoes. Now we have one. Hopefully one of the young new guys steps up this summer to be our #2 man. Kennedy-Biggs. Hendry-Payne-Gray. We have nothing like those tandems in 2014. At least that I've seen. The summer will reveal a lot.
