  1. Odd that you ignore UA's Law School, but tout K.e.n.t.'s Journalism program. What can you do with a Journalism degree in 2012? Blog?
  2. They are playing at a very high level. Great players and fun to watch. For the second time in my life, I am rooting for the Flashes (the other time being their Elite 8 hoops run). Lots of respect for their baseball team. If they were to win it all, how would it compare to our soccer national title? Equivalent? Better? Lesser? I guess that is another poll for another day. I saw that Josh Cribbs chartered a 53-person bus "to make sure K.e.n.t. was well-represented in Omaha." Nice gesture.
  3. I hope Harney is adding some moves to his half-court offensive game other than "plow into the lane." If not, there will simply be a 2" taller kid sitting on the Zips' bench for 28min/game. Fr. to Soph. is usually a big jump. My expectations are high for Harney in 2012-13.
  4. I'm at the point in my life where my kid is playing fall sports on Saturdays. Here's hoping his games are early...
  5. I missed the interview. At any point did Bowden say "It's a process..."?
  6. Back-in-the-day, my son's favorite player. It also beget him following #99 Carl Edwards in NASCAR.
  7. I agree that with Gilliam and Diggs being seniors, and maybe Walsh being a senior too, that there won't be a ton of minutes available at shooting guard. But there will be some. As a redshirt Fr,., 8-or-so mpg wouldn't be too bad? I really wonder where Ibitayo will fit in. Not a great shooter. Not a great ball handler. Great upside. Great length. Is he still a year away from meaningful minutes? Seems like it.
  8. I think this is the first legit, 36-team sell-out? We've doubled-up on holes in the past, but never on all 18. Hope the dinner isn't over before our group completes the round.
  9. We don't need a #2 guard that can shoot the lights out? I saw how OU ran through the 2012 NCAA tourney. I want to be like them. I want guards that can hit the 3 at a sick pace.
  10. I don't think it has been a rarity over the past several decades that the 6th or 7th best point guard from the Philadelphia area has been a better player than the #1 or #2 rated PG in Cleveland or Pittsburgh.
  11. I hear he was a victim of pfau play.
  12. Antwon Hight...gotta add his name to "The Best Zip Never" list we were working on a few months ago.
  13. How Ohm Youngmisuk's blog is not titled "Ohm's Law" is beyond me.
  14. Most people from Youngstown have a bullet wound or two. No big deal. It's not Mayberry.
  15. Wonder if originally being a Tressel recruit helped him find his way to Akron?
  16. Since things are slow, I think it is time to begin looking forward to the 2012-13 basketball season.
  17. Good to see he's finally moved on from picking K.e.n.t. 1st in the MAC. It took him 15 years, but he did it.
  18. Wow...that's terrible. He was a familiar face around UA athletics for many years, and always fun to talk to. I'm shocked and saddened.
  19. I'm not inferring it would be our new conference's choice. I hypothesize it would be UA's choice remain MAC in football, but upgrade its programs that could be competitive in a better conference.
  20. Hypothetically - what if we could go into a bigger conference in all sports except football. Keep football in the MAC. Would you do it?
  21. This process has been proven effective. Temple did not have the talent to compete in the Big East. After getting the boot, Temple entered the MAC Wellness Program and turned their life around. Temple became a viable candidate for a better conference, and subsequently moved on. Zips football needs to pretend it was in the Big East, and got kicked to the curb. Pretend it is starting from zero in the MAC, with a goal to get healthy over the next 4-6 years and become a viable candidate for whatever conference upgrade might present itself.
  22. The A-10 picks up two recent Final Four teams?! That leapfrog's them into an elite-level conference. Their commissioner is a keeper.
  23. The John Clay Era comes to an end. Eerily similar to the Ryan Bain Era. I found page 29 of that thread to be outstanding. Page 13 was also good, but too similar to pages 7 and 31 to merit top billing. Honorable mention goes to page 17, which would have been #1 had it mentioned LeBron James or Akron U.
