Coach just confirmed on pre-game that the games don't matter until next Thursday. Silly me for thinking momentum heading into the MAC tournament meant something or that wins in your league heading down the stretch just might have an impact on seeding in The Big Dance or to a (much-)lesser extent the NIT.

IDK, it really doesn't matter if we lose this game. As long as we win when it really counts in a couple of weeks that's all that matters. /sarc

Don't know that I'd say they are in 'melt-down' mode but they do seem to be resigned to a general opinion that they have not been as good as 'kron in recent years for any number of reasons (coaching changes, coaching styles, type of recruit, team chemistry, etc.). We certainly have had stability and success, at least in the MAC, with KD and do seem to have a team that may be ready to give us that win in March we all so desire.

Whether it brings Joe Akron out to the JAR or not, a win on the road against a mediocre Big-12 Texas squad has got to be better prep for wins in March than playing name-a-crappy-team at home in December. I'd gladly give up one or two of our home games for road games against P5 squads, decent or not.
