Yea, I hate the Red Sox and the Yankees, equally.
-
I completely agree with you guys. I hate those guys from other schools filling our board with worthless posts.
-
How many students are they allowing into the game?

500 tickets will be made available on gameday. -
That's funny, I used to have a lot of respect for the Toledo football program, until I had to read all the posts by you the other Toledo fans who keep posting on here. Now, I have about as much use for Toledo as I do for Can't. Ironic how you get on an Akron website to pimp Toledo, then question OUR intelligence.
-
Ryno is correct. It's a blow for your reputation. I heard at least 3 times yesterday on 3 different national radio shows that Toledo had been penalized. Some say that even bad publicity is good publicity. We'll see, I guess.
-
No, I wish I had a copy on dvd....... Anyone know if that is a possibility?...... Btw, I'd really like one of those rings, too. Why not sell the dvd of the MAC championship game and the MAC championship ring as a set?
-
I don't need a ring. I have the MAC title game on video. :macc:

I hope all of you are right and Waddell does eventually come back to Akron. I, don't believe it will ever happen, personally. He's a difference maker. Look are this place. His influence is everywhere. My guess is that a major program ( Big Ten, ACC, SEC, etc) plucks him away from Cincy. When it happens, I will, again be very happy for him. Good luck , Mike. Give 'em hell.

WOW, JB was harsh, lol..... I agree with you that coach Amstutz is not much to look at, but I actually have a lot of respect for the guy on game day. He's built a pretty nice program out there. Kinda like the one JD is building here. There is only one difference as I see it. Our program is on its way up? Which way is Toledo's heading? Time will tell.

"Even our own people do not believe that we are becoming a good athletic program", says skhorbotlyThis is a ridiculous statement.
-
How the hell does this happen? Toledo loses 6 scholarships?! That's freaking awesome!
-
Personally, I think he's got a good shot at making it in the NFL. Hell, I hope he does. The more talent the MAC tosses into the NFL, the better recruiting is going to be here at home. Go Zips. :macc:

I gotta admit, this is not a surprise, but it is a little bit earlier than I thought it would happen. Obviously, the man wants to be an AD. It woulda been nice if it could have been here. I don't know Rhoades from Adam, but I do know the Wad, and if you made me chose, I'd take the Wad EVERY TIME. (just my opinion) Congrats to UC, you just got the very best that we had to offer. Congrats and good luck to you , too, Wad.Thanks for absolutely everything! See you in October! Always Onward and Upward-Go Zips!

I am not trying to alienate Steuby, but I gotta say that when I read Beanie's quote saying "he was making love to his high skool", I actually , literally laughed out loud. No offense, Steuby, we're all Zips fans here, but Beanie cracked me up with that one. :macc:
-
Steuby, my friend, you just don't get it. There was a huge buzz about that game, locally. Unfortunately, that morning we had the worst weather conditions that we have had this entire winter. The 8900 people who showed up should have had their heads examined for even being there. Have it your way. Call it a failure, but I was there and I know what I saw and it was quite a sight. Everyone braving the cold and the wind and the snow to watch the Zips. I realize that there's no way to tell what might have been if the weather was better, but I do know that morning was no failure. It was great!

Are we talking about Mason Park?
-
The fact of the matter is that the Zips need AN OPPONENT for that game. Anyone will do, but we need to fill that date. 1a, 1aa, it really doesn't matter at this point , but they need to schedule a team. The 1a teams are more than likely already committed, hence, they are looking at 1aa teams. It's a simple equation and you fellas are making it much more dificult than it really needs to be. It isn't about Mr. Rhoades and his legacy or any other nonsense. They just need to fill that date. Also, the Thanksgiving Day game was a HUGE success and the ONLY negative was the weather. As far as the weather goes, the last time I checked, the Rubber Bowl is still located in Northeast Ohio, so, we take what we get at that time of year. :macc:
-
Wow. I am AMAZED at how confident those Ohio people are. A 15 point defeats brings out "guarantees"? You guys are nuts! I actually enjoy your enthusiasm, but you're outta your collective minds. See you at the Q.
-
This one is really gonna hurt. Those defensive players freaking loved that guy. I think most of the d-line is here because thay wanted to play for him. Good luck to him at Purdue.
-
Um, any idea how long that drive back to Athens is after a performance like that one? Me neither, maybe we should ask Tim O'Shea.
-
I can't even believe this is up for discussion. Why wouldn't a kid growing up in Ohio root for Ohio State? Who knows at the age of 9 or 10 what school you're gonna attend after high school? Personally, I didn't even come to Akron until I was 20 years old. Are you going to be critical of me for not being born here? I root for the Zips, I have for over 20 years. I cannot even count how many years I have held season tickets at the Rubber Bowl. It's just my opinion, but I don't think the two things are even related. OSU is a Big Ten school and we only see them once every 3 or 4 years or so why do you people even care? It's a dumb topic and a stupid discussion and I am sorry I even got caught up in it.
-
Ahem, msopher. I was going to ignore your response and let you have your say, but then you said Akron did not represent the MAC well in the Motor City Bowl. You are WRONG. The Zips got beat, but the played with heart and with pride and left everything on the field. They had nothing to be ashamed of, and represented the MAC just fine. We'll see you in Toledo this fall, you just have your boys ready. :macc: :macc:

They're a cocky bunch, but that board is pretty good. Gonna be a long drive back home tomorrow night.
-
You know, Sullivan was a great kicker during practice and during pre-game, but he could certainly stink the joint up during an actual game. The mental side of the game is something that can't be underestimated.
-
I am not a Livingston fan, but the man didn't lie this time. The Zips, themselves can prove him to be wrong, though. Hopefully, Akron will get two more shots at Can't. All the have to do is go out and beat them and articles like this one will stop appearing. Personally, I don't read the PD, anymore, because I just can't stand to read articles by guys like Bill Livingston and his ill-informed, dim witted, drool.
