  1. Apparently. Or at least hatched it.
  2. Per Akron Ohio Student Association: Pavloff was also asked for his opinion and thoughts on the now-ended ITT deal. Pavloff explained that this idea was brought to the Board by the Chairman of the Board of Regents and that the Board had not sought out his deal. They were never in discussion with the actual owners of ITT. According to Pavloff, “The idea was to shut down ITT, have the government address all of those issues with the states attorney generals, and basically have a clean sheet operation from that point forward when ITT shut down… This was “ITT will go away””. And on day one someone new would take over the academic operations of ITT to provide educational opportunities for those 50,000 students. That would have been the University of Akron.” It was mentioned from there that it would make more sense to students for the Board and other administrators to focus on the increasing problems at the main campus and satellite campus' before trying to take over a network of other locations.

  7. I recommend clicking the link to the Akron Ohio Student Association facebook summary of their meeting with Pavloff. Athletics spending/student fees was not mentioned but among their grievances is a concern that Aramark profits via the "prison industrial complex"...never saw that one coming.
  8. $80M is only 8% of $1B
  9. You make a lousy bookie setting the number that high!
  10. I didn't remember seeing this before (from spring prospectus)... "On Feb. 23, head coach Terry Bowden and the Zips traveled to the Ohio Statehouse and received public recognition from the both houses of the Ohio General Assembly. They were given proclamations for their bowl win over Utah State. The Zips were also recognized by the Summit County Council." http://www.gozips.com/sports/fball/2016-17/files/2016_Spring_Prospectus.pdf #TeamOhio
  11. Diebold is a very conservative (stingy) company. I would say replace them on the list with J.M. Smucker.
  12. Also, the news links to GoZips.com don't seem to work, or is it just me?
  13. "fellow inside linebacker" ?
  14. Another round of budget cuts would be very difficult.

  16. While most students will be attending only one S.S. campus or the other, hopefully there will be some good connections between the two and draw some Stark Co. folks up to the Akron campus and UA area.

  19. Looks like they are positioning for the Big XII expansion
  20. BOT Chairman Pavloff's term expires July 1. Per Akron Ohio Student Association: Lastly, Pavloff was asked about his ending term as Chair of the Board. He stated that his term on the Board is "likely to terminate" and that he is "working under the assumption" that his term ends in June.

  25. He maybe wouldn't have built "that" stadium, but since it's there now I think he would be glad to get into the A(A/C)C. He's not anti-athletics.
