great pep talk coach dave! i too have thought about what the win means. i really think it means little. it could mean a lot if it motivates one player and that is c mcnight. chris is the key to the team winning it all and i'll break down why quickly1. he's the one true variable on this teamyou pretty much know what you'll get out of everyone else but not chris. when he's on, akron is really tough to beat. when he's not, they tend to get pushed around. 2. when chris plays well (see late second half yesterday) the rest of the team steps it up. can't explain it but it happens all the time. during the first portion of yesterdays game or even the k.e.n.t. game his head wasn't in it (doing his best drew gooden impression) and got lost on d and made poor pass after poor pass. but when he's focused it raises the teams level of play.3. besides nate he's the only upperclassmen the team has.simple here. the team looks for him and nate to set the tone and lead by example. when they don't the team goes flat.lets hope chris goes on another terror like he did towards the end of last season or during the win streak this year. if he does akron is dancing!

gozips.com has updated the rosters for spring 2009. two things that i noticed is that some of the player mentioned to have transferred that were not confirmed are still on the roster. the second thing that i noticed is that adam bice is listed as dl. i really thought they were looking at him as a possible replacement to bates next year. click me

This kid is AWESOME. It would be nice if Coach Ferri's Mooney Alum status carried some weight in recruiting him. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I can always dream.IMHO i seen both him and erik howard of North Canton play....i would take him over howard anyday. Howard is a powerback who has some speed. this guy is an all around athlete who can play in all phases of the game, offense, defense,Special teams.another Mooney kid that has interest in Akron click megot to talk to him for a few min. while he was on campus for the akron bgsu game. huge kid! very nice. also, there were a ton of high school kids there many were "local"

i was down in akron visiting a friend for dinner and suggested the lizard knowing the broadcast was there. i was a little bummed as i could barely hear the questions. the only question i heard was when do you consider the freshmen, no longer freshmen? k.d. reply.....now.

watching the film he has good touch on the ball and once he gets his foot work down (it's really bad) he'll increase his arm strength. in the rivals article he is quoted that he knows he will red shirt and he is fine with that. this is a great pick up and this class is looking very strong!

ok time for a history lesson on the term ak rowdies. first of all its a pretty new term and very new to the university. the term ak rowdy became popular a few years back with a rap song called ak rowdy ( pretty good song by vic?). from there it sprung from the streets to the university and now is the name for one of the best student groups in the mac! while the student turn out has been a little up and down this year it is growing. i just wish the university posted more signs about upcoming games. i am an alum but i think all that is around campus is the sign heading into the jar and the sign on the walk way heading from the parking deck to robs. if there are any others please let me know.....hope i'm wrong

based off the rivals article it appears he only had one other offer from bg and he wasn't hearing from them (read Can't was his only offer)

you could have had prime time, night train lane, ronnie lott, and woodson back there and they still would have gotten toasted with the lack of pass rush. the secondary is fine. the front seven needs to get to the qb or it will turn into a touch football game with the linemen counting to 10 mississippi before doing anything.
