  1. i voted better.the secondary has been better than i thought. the play of anderson and graham has been very good. the offense as a whole has been very good too! you can't fault the d line since they are so banged up. the only area i've been disaponted in is the linebackers. grant has played better but can do more. someone posted this in another thread about d will and i completely agree. i'll will send the search team to find him. the youngsters have played well. i was thinking 7-8 wins and (baring no more voodoo injuries) should get there. this team will be ready to contend for a mac title next year as almost everyone will be back! i think the team is in good shape.while i don't have a question about bain coming back in the next two weeks i have to wonder why they haven't given any detail to his injury. i know they don't have to in college but with coles, harvey, and lively you got a time table. this would lead me to believe they are holding out that he can give the team a few games towards the end of the year. lets just hope lively is back for the cincy game and get healthy from there!akron covers this week
  2. 2) Find your tight end! (hmm, that sounds weird) Was Poindexter even at the BS game???sure was, he dropped a touchdown with no one around him
  3. from the gozips.com press conferenceHow many players are you down on the defensive line?We are very thin on the line right now and we lost our fourth nose guard during pre game on Saturday. Currently we are down Eric Lively, Ryan Bain, Deni Odofin, Cowles Stewart, James Harvey, and Hasan Hazime. We are expecting to see some of them back this weekend.wish we knew who??????
  4. my group will be there at 9 sharp!
  5. Plus, if I recall correctly, we either offered Nate or pursued him strongly before he committed to Ball St.you are correct....akron was on him early as well as some other big ten schools but he was leaning on playing hoops instead of football and scared off some teams. ball st never left and the commit paid off!
  6. gonna pick up some burgers with the cheese already in them, some brats (brewed with great lakes dort ), and polish boys for the west side market. can't wait for this game!!!!
  7. great posts guys! a few thoughts.....the ride was a little long but it was worth it!!!!!!the tailgate lots were a little spread out but the sky top lot was very similar to the rubber bowl. had the pleasure of cooking for rowdy zip! the people at the university were one of two people....1. w. ny people mostly from rodchester or buffalo. very nice and great to talk to. didn't take themselves too seriously and knew their sports. 2. the meat head "you got a problem guy" ny'er would talk smack to anyone that walked by and knew nothing about sports. a very interesting mix.thanks to tex mark as the bbq spot, it was amazing! they said they are putting one in manhattan asap and i can see or taste why!on to the gamethe o line played its best game since jd took over. the guard's anderson and ward were fantastic on their zone read plays and gave jac all day long to throwspeaking of jac....i, like many on this board thought he was a a back up but watching him go through his progressions and make the right read and throw have made me a convert. also this should mean stability at the qb spot for years to come as rodgers is right behind him.the running backs all played great. averaged over 5 yrds a carry. the depth of the running game will wear down most mac schools this year and i'm looking forward to seeing it!the wr's were great too! most talked about jones and bowser so i'll talk about bruce. his play in the slot opens up the outside for the other two and they will only get better.the dthe line played with heart but with mostly frosh and soph's playing that is about what i'd expect against 2 bcs teams. when (hopefully soon) bain and lively come back the line will be good not average.glad to see grant step up but he can take it to another level...still want to see more a willagree with previous comments about the rover spot....davis is #2 now and i'm thinking fleming being hurt stunted his growth this year.the secondary will be very opportunistic this year. they are green but very athletic. the best of the lot is b will! the man played at a very high level and should be playing on sundays next year. to watch him line up on the slot one play and then make a big hit on 4th and one. wow! that's all i have to say.....side note his parents are a blast as i sat by them for the game.coachinggreat game plan.....adapted fairly well but i love the fact that they went for the win and to put the game out of reach. capt mentioned this before and i agree. the 3rd and a long one were the zips could have gone run but went play action and hit merc for the touchdown and final blow was ballsy! cuse was thinking run all the way and everyone in the dome was thinking the same thing. great great call.finally to see the a hole fans (who the cops had to tell to calm down after getting after our cheerleaders for 3 quarters) chant g rob must go then all the dome walk out at the same time was priceless! i hope we don't take a step back this week and continue on this upswing!see you at the bowl!
  8. he only dressed for one game last year but did not play. maybe you are thinking of pre season? anyways, this is a great opportunity for andy!
  9. didn't get to see all of the game due to work but the one thing i noticed and will continue to pay attention to is the play of kevin grant. he has to do better than 4 tkls and 1 hurry. he's one of the leaders of this team and needs to perform well for the d to improve. also, would like to see more aaron williams. he just looks like a player. i'd guess the more he gets used to playing at this level the more we'll see him. can't wait for the cuse game!
  10. here's a scout article on Alleman landing with the dolphins click melooks like he had lots of interest. have to wonder why he never dressed for the saints? wish him the best as he has a great opportunity to get on the field.
  11. 6 bucks for me and i'm in the lower bowl. where is everyone parking? please send a pm if you can
  12. for those who have rivals here's a link with a some good insight from his high school coach. click mefor those who don't he is of the opinion that he'll project better at db in college. a great pick up for the zips!
  13. props to kevin grant landing on the butkus watch listclick me
  14. i find it very interesting that jd hasn't committed to jac yet. every time he's asked a question about jac he always mentions rodgers. it appears that rodgers has more talent but lacks experience. it's a tough call as once you give rodgers the keys there's no turning back. i'll still stick with my prediction that he'll be under center for the cuse game
  15. if he's only going to get 1-5 snaps a game you red shirt him.....i can't see why you'd waste a year on a player with that skill set. the only way i'd let him see the field is if someone gets hurt. it also allows him to get adjusted again after such a tough year personally.
  16. rivals is reporting that russell is heading to morgantown
  17. i too was thinking lb but the depth at rb drops next year with the graduation of dk and johnson. that will leave torrence, allen, and pride. allen will be a sr. next year and could set up a potential torrence pride backfield. at lb the zips recruited pretty hard at lb.....also fleming is projected to grow into the lb spot so they are fine there.here's a follow up question...... with the depth at rb and all that has gone on in this man's life should he red shirt?????? thoughts?
  18. here's a link to Reggie Corner's blog on the bills websiteclick me

  23. gozips.com updated the 08 roster last week to include the incoming class. the only player missing i saw was Kevin Funches. anyone heard anything regarding his status with the university? if he's not with the team i sure hope they land chaz russell for the fall. can't wait to see the depth chart updated once fall practice starts!
