  9. i am guessing they are referring to j.d. relinquishing the offensive coordinator duties and going to the spread offense. best of luck to sean but if you can't beat out the cj's and you can't pull another d-I scholarship then it was best the two parted ways when they did

  15. cap one question.....when talking about jac; were you getting the feeling that the people you spoke with were just giving lip service and allowing him every chance to win the job? Or, did you think that they truly believe that he has made that big a stride?

  17. perhaps i misunderstood what "Snack Toads" said to me then........i completely agree though that financially the uw makes more sense.
  18. from what i've heard akron didn't make the decision to drop kentucky. chryst did. both kentucky and wisconsin were ok with akron backing out but cryst made the choice for them with conference scheduling. chryst is an idiot and akron needs to get out of the mac asap. i agree that the big east would make a lot of sense for scheduling unless it's a school like iu.
  19. Given our history, it would be a bathroom stall without a door on it and a Cambodian guy sitting on the toilet.that's got to make the hall.......well played sir!
  20. you are right they don't and can't offer scholarships but they can offer "leadership scholarships" ( proud recipient of one). also they can offer you a job with the school and the hours you work for the school go towards your tuition. if you happen to be an elite athlete some one will always find a way just they way it is...... with that being said i am a graduate of a public school. so i can see the pros and cons of the article.
  21. something to keep in mind when bigger conferences are looking to add teams. tradition doesn't always play a factor as some would think. usf and ucf are perfect examples of this. conferences will look at facilities, growth potential, and possible tv market. akron will have the nicest stadium in the conference and the city has made it clear it wants to build an arena downtown for basketball. enrollment is up and the university has a president dedicated to into a powerhouse for northern ohio. ut and akron really are the two that can make the move at this point. c-usa fits the demographics (campus wise) and would elevate the university. rifle i do agree with you that mack has done a very good job in the fundraising department. his legacy will be if he can get the university in position to upgrade in conference affiliation.
  22. it will be tough to keep humpty off the floor next year. i have heard that ray is still on their radar and hope he can qualify in two years. also, i have heard that parrish had some grade issues and is now a question mark. hope that he is fine come fall as he could have a chance to see the floor as a frosh.
  23. from the nbe site and a quote from his aau coachMarshall’s height, 7’4” wingspan, and athleticism are all huge plusses for his future on the court. The fact that “he can run all day”, according to Klimchock, is another rarity for such a tall player. As far as defense, Klimchock, who is no stranger to talent having coached two-sport phenom Terrelle Pryor in high school, is not shy in his enthusiasm. “I think if you ask people around the country they will probably tell you that he is the best shot blocker in the class. He is phenomenal at it.”i agree......is it 09 yet?????
  24. spoke with a few people in the ad department yesterday and they hope to make an announcement soon and i will drop one hint about the potential game at the q. the team is south of akron and the game still isn't locked up.
  25. huge! both figuratively and literally...... glad to have the big man on board!!!!!! side note, kind of surprised that psu didn't recruit him all that much. pretty sure his dad played there and played well.
