  1. You gotta see this goal by Blair Gavin (The rookie from Akron). http://mls.neulion.com/mlsvp/console.jsp?c...822&id=4863
  2. I refuse to frustrate my self and waste my money to fund a league that is designed for the richer teams to win every year. The MLB can take all the money in NY and LA, not mine though.
  3. What media will be willing to do that? the ABJ? 95% of their readers are buckeyes firts fans. Why would the ABJ write a story that will piss their readers and make them loose subscribers?
  4. Which tournament are the zips scheduled to be in? and where at please? never too early to start travel plans.
  5. Bardo has been on scholarship for four years already and he already graduated from his program and started working towards a graduate degree. Would it be too bad if he finishes grad school on a teaching or a research assistantship?
  6. Humpty and the Hitchens will be in my prayers.
  7. STZ: I can say the same exact things about our football program. You can say that you prefer the pro game and that the zips players are all too small, too slow and not very skilled. Why do you still watch Zips football? At least the basketball team competes for its conference title every year. Others: None of our athletic teams supports itself (let alone support other sports). Football generates the largest chunk of income but also spends the largest chunk of the budget. In fact, last time i looked at numbers, football had the biggest deficit margin of all sports. Edit: just saw ZW's post about red numbers. Sorry about the redundancy.
  8. Dambrot should be ashamed of making such silly comments as of downsides of Butler making it to the finals. For some reason, i am starting to feel that all KD does is looking for excuses in everything. First it is the fans, second the other teams who will not come play us in the JAR, and then it is Butler because they mannaged to win... It is getting old.
  9. Are we keeping any body from this year's team at all?
  10. Every one wants Akron to be top of the mac. The question is: Would you rather see Akron improve and get better than an excellent Ohio U? or do you want Akron to retain the same level while seeing OU become worse? How can you complain about the MAC being so bad and in the same time hate it when a conference team does good? Hypocracy if you ask me.
  11. My problem with the older posters (some of them, not all) is their attitude of accepting mediocracy. I can't stand reading the following statements anymore: 1 - you can't criticize KD, he's a lot better than Hipsher 2 - Why are you complaining? at least we are not Toledo 3 - You should be proud, we went to the MAC finals 4 years in a row 4 - this is our 5th consecutive 20-win season, shut up and count your blessings 5 - Why can't you appreciate our situation? 10/12 MAC teams would love to be in our place
  12. VMD, I am starting to believe that you have a personnal issue with the kid because you can't be reasonnably arguing that he does not impress you. First of all, I'm not aware of no one averaging 36 points a game in college. No one in the NBA (where the games are 8 minutes longer) even averages 36 points/game, not even 30. (LBJ leads at 29.6 PPG) Second thing, Your cotton guy (in his freaking senior year) averages 12.5 Points, Cooper averages 13.1 in his F R E S H M A N season Third, there are other stats to look at when evaluating a player, like assists, Rebounds, and Steals: Troy Cotton: 12.5 points 3.0 Rebs 1.0 Assist and .7Steals DJ Cooper: 13.1 points 5.4 Rebs (can you believe that?) 5.9 Assists and 2.5 steals Go ahead and compare these numbers to any point guard in the NCAA (let alone freshman) and then come back and tell me how overrated cooper is.
  13. Cooper is over rated?????!!!!! you wouldn't trade a urinal???? I will keep this page in my favourites to provide a link to it every time we play them and he detroys us for the next 3 years.
  14. It is disturbing that zips fans are rooting for their conference foes to suck. Then in another thread people will be complaining how the MAC doesn't get respect. I would rather be the second or third team in a great conference like xavier in the A-10 or BYU in MWC as opposed to being the champion in a terrible conference where we get the automatic bid and a 15 seed and get blown by double digits in the tournament. I hope all MAC teams win their post-season tournaments (OU in the NCAA, Can't in the NIT, and Akron in the ...oh wait!)
  15. Gozips gets a lot of heat on this board but he knows what he's talking about and most of us don't want to hear or belive the truth.
  16. I can't believe i wasted 2 hours of my day watching my "favourite" team. Way to finish strong zips!
  17. Upgrading the schedule does not always mean playing more top 100 teams. The problem is the number of 200+ teams that we play every year. We played at least 10 teams with RPI of 200+ few of which are even 300+ The focus should be on playing teams in the range 50-150. If we do so, we will have a fun regular season where the games are competitive and also if we win enough, we will have a nice resume come postseason time.
  18. 1st Team C/F-Jeremiah Wood F-Romeo Travis F-Nate Linhart G-Nick Dials G-Rashon Brown (sp?) 2nd Team C/F-Rob Preston F-Chris McKnight F-Rick McFadden G-Dru Joyce G-Steve McNees
  19. Our bench situation is certainly not a healthy one. With Euton, Egner, and Green coming in and only 2 scholarship players graduating, someone must be asked to give up their scholarship. That is not a good situation to be in and KD certainly is not looking forward to do that. From KD/fans point of view: Swiech has been on scholarship for 3 years with no on-court production same thing could be said about Sullivan (2 years). From the kids/families point of view: we had other options coming out of high school, you offered us to come here so we did. Your decision, your fault, you pay the price.
  20. I never thought we would lose either. I was always telling my party that OU will eventually run out of gas. They were playing their 4th game in the tourney and the second to go to OT. They traveled to Muncie and back before coming the cleveland. They have a rotation of only 8. Bassett and Cooper still played 45 minutes each and didn't show any fatigue symptoms. It is against nature laws
  21. That shows fan maturity and proves that our fans are reasonnable people who are not asking for the moon. When the team is playing in the MAC championship to the wire and the players are leaving it all out there but come short because of a shot that didn't fall or a call that went the other way, fans can't be upset. On the other hand, loose to a mediocre AP or EMU, get destroyed by Can't, or not have a chance against RI, all at home, fans better not be happy. Something is wrong if they're not upset.
  22. When is Nik going to learn to stop dribbling, pass the ball to a guard, and then move his feet? That would work too
  23. If we lost last night, i think Nik would have been to blame for it. I think that he was too anxious not to foul (after fouling out the previous night) that he wasn't focused on his game. Also, when will he learn to start dribbling before moving his feet?
  24. For whatever it is worth, Bassett played the whole 40 minutes against Can't and then 37 minutes agianst Miami. I don't care how athletic and fit he is, he must run out of gas sometime soon.
  25. One question in my mind. What did Steve Hawkins say to Kool 4 years ago? How can you get a kid like that to sign with a middle of the pack MAC team?Did he not get any offers from Butler, Dayton, or Big10 schools?what a great kid.
