  1. Have a copy... don't want anything that has the last two years in it.
  2. Also from Google translate but with phonetic spelling: Zaustavi snimanje 3 tačke snimke!
  3. "I’m ready to get on the floor, win some games and ignite Zips Nation.” Story here.
  4. NEOtropolis TV just uploaded their that includes an interview with UPA's Eric Anthony Johnson. In the video there are more shots of the Akron redevelopment vision plans than is on the web page. There is a nice shot of the 3D rendering of the downtown arena concept with night illumination... looks very cool. I personally don't have any problem with this location or one near the football staduim; just do it. An advantage to the downtown concept is it might be slightly better for before/after event entertainment in that one may not need to move a vehicle between location.
  5. Interesting that the playing areas in the two configurations go perpendicular to each other in this case. Looks like the ice config is less fan-friendle than the hoops.
  6. "Akron hires former Florida and Illinois DB’s coach Mike Woodford as safeties coach" source
  7. Or this from one of Akron's local toy makers. This one was on a shelf for quite some time before it got the green light. Not sure if it was due to cost or liability.
  8. I think you have UCF and FIU backwards... I think UCF will beat us and we have a chance against FIU.
  9. In my mind, Proenza's annual outrageous "bonus" checks should be weighed against botched decisions like Tom Wistrcill and the resulting chaos. Luis's one personal poor decision cost UA millions of dollars. How is that worthy of a "bonus?" I mean, the guy is way overpaid to begin with. If Gordon Gee can get one after the scandal there, then why not?
  10. Bardo was not athletic. Egner is. He is not looking that athletic. That is the problem. Maybe it's the hair. Remember what happened to Samson.
  11. Attendance there seems similar to UA's final few games... What's with no marching at halftime? They have a band!
  12. On a positive side, the starters should be less tired and the second line has more game experience. Hopefully they can take it out on Duquesne and WV.
  13. The link doesn't work. Just tell us. HEARD that Akron will be getting a ton of 5th year ND guys -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- next year. Dayne Crist Anthony McDonald Dan McCarthy Deion Walker Brandon Newman David Posluzny Lane Clelland Hafis Williams Are all talking with Coach I and Powlus about transfering into Akron and playing 1 year to get a better shot at the NFL. Not being totally familiar with the rules, but how would this be possible without sitting out a year?
  14. As a member of the alumni band who has experienced being on the field and being in the stands, I can tell you that the acoustics of the stadium are partly to blame. When sitting on the east side facing the pressbox it is difficult to hear the band; the sound gets swallowed up or escapes out the end zones. The Rubber Bowl was better because everything was solid concrete and the sound bounced around much more. From the pressbox sideline the sound is much better. In this case, both arguments might be right.
  15. Good ideas. Now, what is your plan to pay for it and maintain it once it is buillt?IIRC, the story and KUD's web site talk about using a combined development program to "self-finance" (building dorms/retail that financed the arean in UCF's case). This could be done similarly by finishing the condo development there by Don Drumm's place to finance an arena there on Exchange near Rte 8.There is also some land that UA owns on Market next to the RR tracks that could also be developed similarly and would be closer to some of the dining and parking on the north side of town as DiG mentioned.
  16. If they can indeed get this going, the construction jobs will be a welcome boost to the local economy.
  17. Buried at the bottom of the UPA article in the ABJ.Seems they like the UCF project that combined an arena with other development: Link to developer.
  18. I remember (not to long ago) a previous administration trying to make all the home games festive. They used to have live area bands, giveaways, marching band playing in the lot, cheerleaders, kids events, a visible (mascot) zippy, that big chocolate blow up zippy, beer tents, etc.. I thought they did a pretty good job. Do they have any of that anymore? I don't wander from Lot 9, but other than the same people trying to sell me some useless towel/rag, not much university sponsored stuff goes on. Personally I don't need all of that stuff, but I know most enjoy that kind of atmosphere. Some of that takes place by the JAR.
  19. That a school with a similarly-sized stadium, in a similarly-sized city and in the same conference can host (and compete with) a big-time school...
  20. Saw Georgia's new uniforms on TV over the weekend... like the helmets.
