  1. Did the guards ride up there on the outside of the bus? 18% for 3's vs 42% for EMU?!?
  2. Are current players elegible for that "honor"?
  3. He's doing a great job spinning around and then missing the rim. Unfortunately, no one else seems to want to take a shot inside that little line on the perimeter of the court. I wish someone on the team would drive all the way to the hoop instead of pulling up for a little floater in the paint. I'd settle for them putting that orange thing in the round ring.
  4. I know he's given a lot of heart and effort to the team, but I was wondering last evening if it wouldn't have been better to have given a few of Bardo's minutes to Egner. He surely wasn't going to do much worse than the others were on defense and he has a much higher offensive potential. Plus he needs some experience for the "real" season.
  5. Hopefully all the new coaches in the league are an opportunity for more wins this year for the Zips.
  6. Hope Josh, Dakota, CJ and Kyle get some major minutes tonight.
  7. Actually we did some like that in the 80s. (train with smoke and moving wheels, horse walking downfield).
  8. ZIPS to be displayed on FirstMerit tower to celebrate national championship. link
  9. I think they had to find funding for building the bridge next. Not sure what the timetable for it was.
  10. Hope you are suffering from dyslexia; 41 points would be more accurate IMHO.
  11. They're just excited to have basketball starting!
  12. Maybe the merger/acquisition will allow them to help advence the plans for a new UA basketball arena?
  13. Shirt is from Rubber City Clothing on High St.
  14. That's a great idea; I'd buy it! Maybe they can get Huggy to write a piece for it while he recovers.
  15. It's better than some of the ideas that were on the survey, one of which was "Portage State"
  16. NEOUCOM Board of Trustees moves forward in process of university name change: At a special meeting held July 27, 2010, the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy (NEOUCOM) Board of Trustees unanimously voted to move forward on the next steps of the process of changing the University?s name. As you are aware, the University recently underwent a naming and branding review that included focus groups, surveys and extensive interviews with faculty, staff, students and alumni, as well as external partners and community leaders. The results of this research were presented to the NEOUCOM Board of Trustees, and after careful and thoughtful deliberation, the trustees decided to move a name forward for further consideration. The name that was approved by the Board is the Northeast Ohio Medical University. The new name being presented is one that is very close to NEOUCOM?s roots, and also pays respect to the geographic area that we serve and to our successful educational and research programs in medicine, pharmacy, graduate studies, and community health,? said President Jay Gershen. ?We look forward to getting this name approved by the legislature and further developing the brand as a premier medical university.? The name change is one part of a multi-phase transformational process the University is undertaking. Other initiatives currently underway include a strategic plan, organizational review and campus master plan. Next Steps: 1. Before the name change can take place, it must be formally approved by both the Ohio General Assembly and the governor. We are hopeful that this approval can be obtained within the next year. 2. Because a name change is a very large undertaking for an institution that requires much planning, a transition plan will be shared with campus in the coming months. Your support of this effort is greatly appreciated!
  17. Better than an abandoned building. What I really want to see open up somewhere on campus is a place like this. Unique idea, and perfect for college students. I'd love to see this open in the downtown area. It was packed with students in Halifax.
  18. Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens on the west side of Akron was home to the founder of Goodyear. The mansion and grounds are open for tours and they often have events there (car show, craft show, vintage base ball, etc.). The Erie Canal towpath runs from Cleveland to Zoar and passes through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and downtown Akron; good for hiking or biking and there are the occasional historical exhibit along the way. There's also an old train that you can ride that runs the tracks thru the park along the towpath. They do the Christmas story ride also (tickets by lottery - it's very popular). Near Luigi's and Crave are a few art galleries, including the Akron Art Museum.
  19. Josh help out at basketball camp. "When I do play for Akron, I want to bring that refusal to lose mentality like we had at Jackson and do what I can do to help the Zips."
