we lost to austin p,uri,n.c.state,texas a.m.(uri,n.c. state, texas a&m) were chances to be top 50 teams.we lost to every one of them plus austin-p.why would it make sense to schedule more of these type games when you can't even beat one of those teams.just beat one top 50 team first. then talk about scheduling more the next year.

i am in sales for a living.i have not seen one good idea from the akron sales/marketing dept. in along time.the acme zip game was a good one. c k is right on the money.you need to build relationships within corporations,and the community.get the coach and the players out into the community would be a good start.go to the major sponsors,and have the guys sign autographs,poster for thier employee's. ect. once a week. the main thing is get the team out to meet people,and you might be surprised how many people would come.kd complains about the attendace,but he does nothing sales/marleting wise to help.i don't mean have a meet the team one time a year.

if somebody is really serious about scheduling b-ball games why not go to the a.d.,and complain.why get on the board, and continually cover the same topic 100 times a year.

i don't understand why the mac does not start it's own network.i realize this would cost money from each school to start it up.it would be a good way for students interested in broadcasting to get some experince.the cable company would not pay for it,but im sure we could get the gameson tv then.then at least we could put all the mac games on tv when we wanted to.it would be a great advertising,and exposure for all the mac schools.we are getting nothing out of espn now;so why not at least try it.right now we don't even live feeds on the zip zone.we pay for this crap when it's also on the radio for free.the horizon leauge put all the b-ball games on for free.the mac needs to do something because right now most of the money is coming from the general fund to support sports.bcs schools like osu all the money comes from dontations,tv rev,merchandise ect.

your probably right gp.nova beat temple the first game of the season.i would hate to see nova play emu,akron,ball state,miami,western would all probably lose to them.the mac does get some great qb's.defense is where the mac players look like they are in slow motion.anybody who says we have talent needs to watch the game tcu/boise.those teams havespeed.

z-pouch is right on the money.we will never get kansas,duke,unc,kentucky to play at the jar.what's the point of plyaing them on thier floor where you have little chance of winning.miami came close and is now 3-9.how does coming close countfor anything.if we can get teams to agree to 1-1 then shcedule them.everybody said we need a harder schedule.yet who won the mac last year.akron.i am sure kd has a way he wants to build his program,and really does not care what peoplesay about his schedule.

i watched the boise/tcu game last night.when watching two mac teams play a game they look like high school teams.both teams had so much speed on defense.tcu defensive end runs a 4.5 40yard dash.we are lucky if we havewr run that fast.the game tcu /boise game last night showed me how bad the talent level in the mac has become.for akron that may be a good thing since the mac is terrible.to say we have talent on akron's team after last nights gameis nonsense.how many guys on akron's team could start for either boise,or tcu.not very many.hopefully the new coachcan go out and get defensive guys that can run esp the db's.

gp is up to his same old tactics.he waits in the shadows until we lose a game,and then piles on.zips have no talent,don't play hard ect.when we were winning he never says anything good about the team.

if you schedule teams like duke,n.c. you will lose.look at miami.they are 3-9 now.how does 3-9 help you.you have no chance of winning on (duke,n.c.)thier home court.the same fans that want us to schedule top 25 teams are the same one's that would complain when were 3-9.we lost to a&m, rhode island,n.c. state,but we should play kansas,n.c.,and duke.that makes great sense.

rhode island would mop up any team in mac.they beat ok.state ,and if keep winning will be a top 25 team.to say we didn't finish is crazy. we lost to a better team.

i guess akron fans would like to have a guy with no head coaching resume,off a 6-6 nd team.over somebody who actually went/played at akron.has been a good o/c,and done a decent job as a head coach.you can say he coached at a lower divison,but the guy akron hired has not been a head coach period.i guess it's better to have no hc experience than some hc exp accroding to our a.d.i don't really care if it was winters ,but find me somebody that has been a head coach.we went down this road two other times and it blew up in our face.i seriously doubt other mac teams are worried about our hire. guess we will know in a few years who was right.

it was a bad hire given that other people were out there.did u of a even try to get any of the top 1-aa coaches.the guy has no hd experience.we tired this with owens,and jd the plan falied.he has neven coached one game in college.i had moretrust in our a.d.now i am not sure what akron is doing.

i think it's a bad hire,but since he's the coach i am behind him now.the big issue will be who he brings in on his staff.i don't know if walt harris is even interested, but i thought he did a good job with our qb's given what happened.if he was smart he would go after winters for his oc position,but once again will he be interested.the biggest challange will be to find asst coaches.most asst coach at bcs make more than make head coaches so finding the right people will be tuff.i think we have enough talent to be competitive in the mac.we do not have the talent of temple,cmu,ou.we do have the talent to compete with everybody else.i would imagine golden, or jones will be gone if not both.cmu loses thier qb whcih carried that team.we need an upgrade in talent,but that does not mean this team cannot win 6 games next year.

when a new coach comes in the first class is usually not good.i would rather get a few qualtiy kids the first year,and save the offers for next year.just giving out offers to fill a class is stupid.get the best few guys you can this year and forget about it.i am almost hoping some of jd guys change thier mind.he proved he cannot evaluate talent.

see tee you make some good points.do we even want some of jd's recruits.he had not done much in the last few yearsas far as talent.we would probably be better off losing a few of them.save the scholly's for the new coach,and the players hewants.if a kid has already committed the university needs to honor that,but if we lose guys so be it.

i think our d-line coaching was terrible while j.d. was here.maybe using a different defense will help.we never put pressure on the qb even when we blitzed.my biggest concern is the new coach of the d-line.i think we have some good players,butthey need coaching.even on third and long everyone in the stands knew the other team was passing:the other teams qbcould sit down drink a cup off coffee get up ,and complete a pass for a first down.we also need to find some more biger db's.teams with bigger wr made us look bad.i know things won't change overnight,but the question remains does the coaching staff even know where to make changes??

like any of the other guys have a better resume than winters? we tried getting an asst coach from a bcs schools the last two times,and look what happened.we need somebody that at least has been a head coach.we did get an asst coach from osu with owens;so i hope they don't hire fickell.

i would love to see winters get the job.i have no doubt we would score points,and would be an improved team on offense.he would have success would not be looking for the next job.if nothing else i love to see him as our o.c., but i know head coaches usually bring thier own guys.some of the other guys have never been a head coach.

torrence was wasted on the bench this year.every rb we have fumbled numerous times,but he was in jd doghouse for some reason.i think having new coach gives each player a new start to impress the coaches.we should be ok at rb,and qb next year.not great ,but good enough to win mac games.the biggest question mark is the o-line.the did a great job of run blocking when kennedy,johnson,allen played the previous season.maybe teams were stacking the box this year, but still no excuse for the way the o-line played.we still need to find 1-2 wr for next year.their are a few guys on defense that played great,but we need help at the db postion.we need some db's to step up next year.we are so small at the db/ lb positions.we have never been able to put a pass rush on teams even when we blitzed.i think part of the dl problem is bad coaching.guys have no idea how rush the passer.

what is going on with marashll only playing ten min.if this team is going anywhere they are going to need zeke to develope.he will not do that on the bench.it's not like the other front line guys are playing lights out.if kd was only going to play him ten min a game then they should have red shirted him.if he is not ready to play red shirt him,or play him.i just don't uderstand what kd is doing.
