  1. Poor Buckzip. Are you kidding? I have friends who are OSU fans that are so upset by this situation that I can't even bring the subject up with them. Why do you say that? at least he has the zips...... ajaja fuk, I'd take a little rule bending if we could get away with it
  2. Anyone who would still drive after their license is suspended obviously has contempt for the law and does not fear (or does not believe that there will be) the consequences of his actions. All of these signs are indicative that the unofficial message that OSU gives to it's recruits and players is "we obviously can't give you money and there are a lot of bullshit rules that we need to look like we are following, but if you come here, you will be like kings in Columbus and everyone will treat you that way." ...and because of this, these players feel that they are untouchable and entitled, and they hold NCAA rules with great disdain. They even hold the law in disdain. If it was one player and not a patter, then you could conclude that it is a personality flaw of that player. If it becomes a pattern with frequency and pervasiveness, then it is obviously the result of the culture and the fault of the institution.
  3. I guess it would be fair to say that is ONE reason. The main reason we don't draw fans is our team has been so bad, nobody can stand to go watch them lose time and again. If Tressel came to town and lost at the rate we have been losing the past 20+ years, nobody would come to the games. Agree with that. I think the numbers would be slightly higher, but the point stands. They don't circle the wagons around Tressel because of his wardrobe. It's because he won a lot, and beat their rivals.
  4. I'm not for going after Tressel either.... and I am amused by a board were a bunch of members have been on a Tressel witchhunt for ages, and (perhaps not the same ones, because that would be very amusing) also members are now on a Tressel hire-hunt. BUT, it is interesting to speculate about the rewards vs. the risks. The risks are the stigma that follows him, at the very least, even if he changes his ethical philosophy and runs a clean ship. But at the worst, he could continue his old ways and sabotage the Akron program with his old methods. The rewards are the aspects that would be curious to ponder. How many Tressel Loyalists are out there... those who would want to see him vindicated? More over, who feels he is a winner, even though he is stigmatized as a cheater? And how many people would jump on a bandwagon as fans because of those perceptions? How many recruits would get on board? Not only don't I think it would/could happen, but I don't think it would even be realistically considered here. But there are some interesting angles.
  5. "Ehhhhhh.....don't you mean MAROONS?" ooooooooooo maroon and grim ah well. if everyone is doing it, why is it that THE ahiya stayt unuhvarseteh is the just about the only one who has seemed to reach cascading levels of impending guiltiness?
  6. Bafoons and incomps I would agree. I think we should at least give Obama and the Seals some credit for killing the guy who masterminded the Sept 11 murder of 3,000 Americans. Americans should feel good about what happened and we should be able to express positive statements about those responsible for meting our justice the old school way.....a bullet through the head. Wow. You guys are amazing. I am incredibly impressed. I had no idea we had posters on this board who had the highest top secret clearance on national security information. You know, like the president and the secretary of defense. Because you obviously feel that you know more than them and that they are idiots. So you must have access to all that information to have your opinion be worth a nickel. Again, I had no idea we had such national security experts who are posters. It can take years to get the kind of clearance to gain access to the information you have. You are amazing. Seriously. thanx
  7. Who gave the order to send in the Seals? I agree, go Ron Paul. Who gave the orders to invade Afghanistan? Invade Iraq? Bush Who said there was no war on terror? Refused to use the word Terror? Obama Who said in the state of the union before invading Iraq that we were not in the business of nation building? Bush Who promised that he would withdraw the U.S. occupation from Iraq in 12 to 18 months? Obama Complete bafoonish incompetence at the very least. At the most, these guys are straight-up lairs corrupting their executive powers
  8. trollin trollin trollin'... keep them GPs trollin Saying that Obama ended teh war on terror when Osama got nixxed is like Bush's mission accomplished when military territorial actions ceased in Iraq. The only people who should get credit are the people who serve honorably (and sometimes die) over there. These assclowns in the whitehouse will get props from me when they end their occupation nation building follies. Go Ron Paul
  9. Symptomatic of the business mentality that Universities have these days. The priority is to get you in and get you paying. Once that happens you are less important, and once you are on your way out the door, they wont even bother to put the extra effort into your graduation ceremony to count the graduates attending. Afterwards, you are a complete afterthought, unless you contribute to alumni donations or bragging stats.
  10. Wake up and put on your glasses man. Obama is the one with the big ears. thanx, I knew there was something
  11. trillions spent on wallstreet bankers, and trillions spent on wars, and the dollar is either going into default, or will be subject to hyper-inflation from over-printing in the next 10 years, and I can't tell the damned difference between Obama and Bush.
  12. I can has teh iCoach voodoo doll?
  13. I can has wagon wheel? I've never done tattz, but I'm very artistic and willing to try.
  14. Not sure to what extent either party is interested, but Dayton could easily triple his salary. I think he would hard time turning down that job if it was offered to him. I'd give a hometown discount. I sizable one. But I would not turn down tripling my paycheck
  15. We have YouTube Tom at the helm. A successful hire would be a given. Don't sweat it. sarcasm meter just pegged
  16. I don't usually correct people when they say Akron U... though honestly, I really don't hear it that often. Count me in with the crowd who feel that it's not the name we should be worried about, it's the reputation.
  17. Where did it move to if you care to share. I drove past it a week or two ago. A few streets south of exchange...next to 76. Came back after break and the signs on the "old" building are gone along with any activity around it. is teh Townhouse coming back?
  18. yar... some people just call that "man strength". I can bench more than twice now than what I could when I was 17. Your post seemed a bit deliberated and slightly clinical, but I agree with what you say, GoZips, but with one exception; It takes an above average amount of natural anabolic/androgenic blood chemistry to fill out a guy with a 7'-3" frame. He will get stronger and more athletic but he may or may not become a beast. I wouldn't stake a lot of loot on it.
  19. Plane overshoots runway at Can't State Airport
  20. Yes! I think that everyone on the Earth now knows that Akron and Can't are exactly fourteen miles apart. I thought the team that did last weekend's ESPN game were much better. Kara Lawson really did her homework. Would like to hear her do more games. Geno Auriemma teaches 'em right. But, hey at least it wasn't Chones and Reghi, JC don'know what town he's even in man. I didn't! I actually heard it was 7. What is that fourteen? A round trip. LOL, no one stays in Can't.
  21. When are the libertarians in this country finally going to wake up and realize that they are libertarians So to you, someone who doesn't fit the democrat (liberal) / republican (conservative) mold is a libertarian? I used to also call myself a social liberal and fiscal conservative, until I realized that this gave me no home at all, because neither party is fiscally conservative, and if you are lucky, you MAY find some representation for your social liberal stances in Washington... MAYBE, but usually not. And what is a "social liberal" anyway? Someone who thinks government should stay out of people's lives? That's a libertarian. What is a fiscal conservative? Someone who thinks government should tax less and spend less? Again, that's not a republican or democrat these days. Oh, you heard republicans pay lip service to it before the recent congressional "sweep", but when they get in, what do they do? The only thing close to it is to slash planned parenthood and public broadcasting, not because they want to cut spending, but because they are icons of left leaning political interests. Liars and hypocrites. All of them. Both parties. PS: Even though I used to call myself a social liberal, that is only because I support people being able to make their own choices and own mistakes in this world. However, I actually tend to live somewhat conservatively. I just don't think others should be forced to live conservatively.

  23. Even more fodder for the imagination when it is noted that Zippy is a girl.
