zips barley house celebration one of the four re-shown during the CBS closing credits. Between that and flush fan's prediction of getting ND, I think there are many good omens

... and in the cover letter, I would emphasize that the refs (perhaps subconsciously) are sympathizing with the smaller players in the MAC against Zeke, as if to handicap them because it's not fair... and this attitude will keep the MAC down, because in the future, other sought prospects coming out of high school will see how their predecessors were treated and avoid going there, and the MAC will never breach the glass ceiling.

Akron September opponent's coach in hot water?
zen replied to Dr Z's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
I thought the same. Although, I also thought, if LBJ was going to hold a one hour special on tv to address his free agency.... IKR? I thought the same thing about LeBron. But I can picture Tressel being there if they are letting him go. Give him his chance to say his peace and goodbyes, etc. However, I still say, unless there is more to come out, no way he's going. -
Akron September opponent's coach in hot water?
zen replied to Dr Z's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
I'll be shocked if Tressel loses his job with what is out so far. tOsu likes to toot their integrity horn, but while there may be some truth to the beliefs they subscribe to, when the rubber hits the road, winning is more important. -
good for him for showing some school pride. who cares? he's an alumni showing support for his school. +1 That was pretty cool of him. I'm glad he's so passionate. Great rivalry. ++1 If he was an Akron Alumn, we'd be into it. Imagine if JT was tweeting this stuff during a Zip basketball win. I don't think JT would ever be dumb enough to talk football smack if he lost 3 of the 4 years to Can't. Cribbs is an idiot. He is doing what most of us do on here on a regular basis. He's pulling for his team and yes, he's putting some rivalry into it. I don't expect anyone here to like an NFL star pimping our rival. I'm not on Cribbs bandwagon except when he touches the football for the Browns. But I don't begrudge him supporting his old school. If the Zips had won the game it would have made him look like a chump.

Screw Cleveland... Cleveland screws the rest of NE Ohio and believes it should be that way. Regionalism may apply to Garfield Hts. and Cleveland, but Akron is no suburb. I grew up in North Summit county, but almost EVERYTHING I did was north towards Cleveland, but I hold no allegiance to Cleveland. I have some perspective on the differences. I agree that Cleveland uses whatever political force it can to horde attention and resources (zip37's example of moving the arena to cleveland is a good one, thanx). I know some people like the big city event atmosphere, but most people would rather not have to drive downtown, deal with the traffic, parking prices, and dirty city. The only drawback to Richfield was that there wasn't jack around in terms of restaurants and bars (a few exceptions could probably be cited, Richfield tavern I think maybe?). Cleveland drove out businesses and Middle Class residents with high taxes, so they have to take what they can and force it into their city so that they can leach revenue from the rest of the region in order to slow the impending spiral of doom. Saying it's "childish" to fight cleveland is like saying you should open your door to a rapist.

in all my time, I have rarely ever found anyone who would defend oreilly. I mean, I've heard these people exist, but I have never witnessed it. What I have seen a lot of is people taking troll bait when someone associates him with other people whom they want to vilify. Predictable. Most people cannot see the forest from the trolls. What is lost in all this is the fact that the people at the controlling strings of places like fox and other media interests willfully advance neocon agenda whist promoting lipservice to libertarian and freedom-centric ideals, which is nothing close to their goals. BTW, go greatness

dunno if this one was mentioned yet, but I was just flipping through some cable channels and Nat.Lampoons European Vacation was on. The family was sitting at breakfast and behind them is a couple making out: Rusty: He's got his hands on her tits right at the table. Ellen Griswold (mother): Stop staring. Clark Griswold (father): European standards of public behavior are different than ours. Rusty: But they're from Akron.

tea-party is NOT libertarian. It was initially funded by Soros to further split the republican primary votes in 2008 in order to give McCain the nomination, and a few years later it's carcas was revived by neocon (or atleast social conservative) republicans like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin. Despite the concept that the name implies, there is absolutely nothing libertarian about the "tea party" The green party's golden age has Nader written all over it (not coincidentally also a hijack), like the reform party's now tarnished coin has Perot's face on it.

<-Alum The way I see it, If I am here when things aren't going well, then I will have earned the right to be right there when things get good and to enjoy rolling my eyes at the bandwagon full of screaming flag wavers trying to run down the newly arrived front-runners

You want guests to be able to read most topics, and if you want some degree of SEO content in the search engines, you need to let guests view topics. Page-loads of forums isn't much of a bandwidth killer. Galleries on the other hand, can be a problem. Visitors probably don't spend a lot of time in your galleries, but the crawlers could. -
Being fair to Ianello -- If the Zips convert two extra points, we're sitting at 2-7, with Buffalo still remaining. understood....... then again, how many games of JDs can we do that with? ... more pointedly, which games in his 3win season could we give him with some missed kicks? It's started to sound like I'm a JD fangirl (lol), but that's not it at all. I just don't know how it gets this bad this year when it seems like only one thing has really changed...
-
JDs recruits suked so bad that he managed to win at least 3 games each year with them. If it's all about the talent, then why the significant drop off? Perhaps it's some sort of perfectly timed culmination of JD's bad recruiting that finally manifest this year?
-
this is simple.... because of the absolutely ridiculous performance this season, RI's term has shortened to just two years. So........... one year from now, if he has 3 or 4 wins, this article prophesies a turn. If a year form now, things look just as dismal, it prophesies not only the investment in the coach as a faulty hope, but also the fall of an AD. Good luck TW. You just got RI one more year. Hope he saves it for you.

I dunno who your host is, but I'm not a fan of hosts who shut you down without notice. In 2004, I had a community (with other features I custom made in PHP/MySQL) that was getting a million hits per day. The stated bandwidth restriction then was 35Gb/mo, and I was regularly going over that. This with $9/month hosting. After a month where we more than doubled the traffic limits, they actually called me and asked me whether I'd like to make other arrangements. They didn't shut me down. They called me. Perhaps from a business standpoint, they didn't have to be so lenient, but I think it's genius. To this day I would go back to them whenever I needed basic hosting. "Bandwidth Exceeded" errors? Really? BTW, you may want to check that your robots.txt is keeping the crawlers out of the image galleries. -
Teh curse of Zippy! Don't let zippy anywhere near the soccer field with a segway!!!
