  1. Maybe we should return the money
  2. Espn.com agrees that Frye is starting. I wish him well.
  3. This just made my night. I was so freaking nervous that he was leaving. It would have been quite a disappointment if he had been introduced as DCU's next head coach. I can go to sleep much happier.
  4. Not sure what you mean here? What do you have in mind...
  5. I was at the game. Fact is, the fouls were 22 by Virginia, 10 for Akron. Yes, the yellow card against Blair was absurd (and the one on Mwila for that matter), but to say that the handing out of yellow cards decided the game is a little extreme. We were better than them. We were the better team. We dominated the second half by probably a 75-25 split. We had chances in OT, etc, etc. We could have won. Diego was as classless as ever, but there was no "conspiracy" against Akron and to think that is downright silly. Heck if anything UNC has a complaint the other way because they had a guy red carded in the biggest game of the season (granted the second yellow was merited, but I'm not so sure on the first). Anyway, bottom line is that I think the refs and the dreaded NCAA treated us as fairly as ever, and that we were the better team, but in soccer that is no guarantee of a victory.
  6. I also heard this today... I'm starting to get nervous.
  7. It's getting heavy in here.
  8. Top 5? If we're lower than #2, send in the FBI!See you all in Santa Barbara, California. December 10, 2010.http://ucsbgauchos.cstv.com/sports/m-soccer/cup10gen.htmlHaha, touche! Good call though. Looking forward to meeting you in a year or so!
  9. I refuse to ever watch these.
  10. Not raining on the parade at all here, but I'm not sure where you got the information about next year's class being one of the best in the country... we have (to my knowledge) only one recruit signed for next year, that being Perry Kitchen, captain of the U-17 national team. Granted he is a phenomenal get, but I doubt that one recruit alone is enough to push us to the "top" of the recruiting rankings. Having said that, we really only needed one recruit because only one starter is graduating (Zemanski). It is still in the early stages after the season, but there is a chance that Blair, Ampi, or even maybe Teal will leave for the MLS. Time will tell, but that is what we really need to worry about at this point. Regardless I'm sure the Zips will be a preseason top 5 and stick around all year putting us in good position to make the College Cup again next year. The future is indeed bright!!! Go Zips!
  11. Haha, Diego! I hope everyone remembers Diego from when he played at USF two years ago. He gave the Rowdies a double barrelled bird after USF scored in the second OT against us. The crotch grab is also his standard MO. Rowdies, I expect that you be all over him the whole time tomorrow!
  12. I was thinking the exact same thing when I was reading through the past thread CK posted. I miss Balki
  13. What is the status of Nanchoff? I've heard a lot of conflicting reports and he didn't go at all last game obviously...
  14. Awesome news. Thanks for the update on that front. I was hoping for more bleachers.
  15. Ouch. I think that's all that can be said.
  16. Pretty cool. Very rare to get local news coverage for a soccer team, so I'll take it. Thanks Channel 5.
  17. To see the best celebration of the year check out the link below. I had no idea that's what they were doing, but man was that fantastic.Recap
  18. I can't even figure out what she is saying here...."The first two rounds of the NCAA tournament weren't exactly marked by a rash of upsets -- eight seeded teams remain and no team seeded worse than 10th advanced, so none of the opening results were jaw-dropping."What does she mean no team seeded worse than 10th advanced? Drake is unseeded, Stanford is unseeded, Indiana is unseeded, Duke is unseeded, UCSB is unseeded, and Portland is unseeded. They are all by definition worse than the 10 seed. This woman is absolutely clueless.
  19. And the tree should be drunk.
  20. Here's a crazy thought...if we have an indoor practice facility for football, and an outdoor field (summa style) right next to it, why do we need the practice field next to schrank? How about we use the real estate better?I'm fairly certain that the soccer team practices on that field to keep the grass on Lee Jackson in good condition. I think it makes sense to keep as well.

    wow

    Booo.It's go hang a salami, I'm a lasagna hog.
  22. Great win by the Zippers today. They looked much better and more focused than they had been the past few weeks. Maybe being bogged down in MAC play was getting to them. One point of concern... Nanchoff went down midway through the first half and did not return. Any status update that anyone is aware of?
  23. I doubt this result holds but I have to believe that this would be beneficial for the Zips.I do believe that even though the gametracker is stuck at 1-0 Stetson that USF has taken the lead 2-1 by the end of the half based on the video feed. Can anyone confirm this?
  24. I doubt this result holds but I have to believe that this would be beneficial for the Zips.
