Blue & Gold

Saw both Jimond Ivey & Cristen Taylor @ the game last night. They saw a great crowd given few opportunities to make noise.

Last year when Lane & Moore signed, Bowden was asked whether they'd play LB or DE, as both are around 6'-3"or4" & 210-220 lbs.. Bowden was rather set on keeping them both at LB. However, it'll be interesting to see what weight these guys come in at after a year of lifting. Both could be quality DE's.

Temple's playing UCF on ESPNews right now. UCF's got a nice new arena. Looks good on t.v.

I used to think it had a something to do with the Big Ten school feeling like they were on vacation during the Rose Bowl whereas the PAC-10 school was carrying on business as usual. Thoughts?

Another article from the ABJ comparing Youngstown's Covelli Center & Cleveland's Wolstein Center.

Tickets are only $10 if you want to eat - it's worth it. If you simply want to hear Tressel you can just walk in.

George Thomas courtesy of ABJ. Nordly Capi will be back. Se'Von Pittman will (or at least "can") play both DT & DE. Deontae Moore & Jerome Lane still projected as LB's. (I thought they might wind up @ DE.)

Anthony Clark - DE, Buchtel. Jamal Davis - LB, McKinley.

We're the #1 turnover-prone team in the nation?!

In last week's semi-finals I believe Trotwood-Madison won 47-7 or something crazy.

Nice Article on Williams. Go Zips!

He did in last year's championship game as well.

Hey! After 20 Columbus State references our Akron Zips finally got one!!!!! Thank you Newman! And wasn't that a great play by Junius?!

Didn't he say it was DT that was so difficult to recruit in the MAC?

I'll copy & paste what I wrote in another thread. This is really where it belongs. Coach Bowden spoke at an event at my church last winter (March?). Before he spoke I was able to spend about 15-minutes with him. Very friendly guy. We talked about the incoming recruits and the current roster. He said then that he thought Jatavis Brown had a shot to play in the NFL. Jatavis is a bit undersized, but man, what a warrior.

Thanks.

Apparently future Zips' point guard Joshua Williams does not have to sit out until after Christmas during his first year at STVM. Ohio.com

I'm not so sure that I could.

Didn't someone post on ZN.o that we're making more money by playing SC in SC rather than in Hawaii on a neutral floor?

Not to pile on the poor guy, as he's a much better head coach than I'd be. But I do wonder if he might be the single worst college football head coach of all time? If not, he'd at least be near the top of a very short list.

Thaaaaaank you.

This is an exaggeration, but I get it. The St. Ed's -vs- Mentor game at the Info is on t.v. right now and there aren't many more people there than were at the Zips' game.

Amen, amen and hallelujah. I would add that we need not only alumni raising Zips fans, but Akronites & Summit County residents also.
