  1. Pohl. Hirschman. Woodson. Kincade. Stacked.
  2. George Thomas for Akron.com. I wasn't aware teams did this. Two teams have invited Zeke to workout head-to-head with another possible draft choice. On June 12th Minnesota is having Zeke workout against Pitt's Steven Adams. Later in the month Portland has Big Z's working out against Indiana's Cody Zeller.
  3. The $40 million University Edge will offer 578 beds and individual bathrooms in two- , three- and four-bedroom apartments with major appliances, granite countertops and leather living room furniture. The complex will include tanning beds, free Internet and cable and a “resort-style” swimming pool. Retail stores — Penn Station and Chipotle have signed contracts — will occupy the ground floor. Chipotle. It's about time.
  4. Ohio.com on the sale of the Rubber Bowl. New owners still thinking USFL franchise.
  5. That's funny, I'm crossing my fingers Big Zeke gets drafted by the Heat. Currently, Miami's two tallest players are "only" 6'10" - Chris Bosh & Chris Anderson. He'd have a great shot with the Heat & playing w/ 'Bron would be fantastic for Zeke's career (LBJ makes everyone better).
  6. Here is an ABJ article on Dom Iero. Dom is a Zips baseball recruit & I'm really excited to see him on the diamond for the Zips. Dom is a great all-around athlete who, besides being an exceptional baseball talent, was Stark County football POY (IIRC... he may have only been Federal League POY), as well as 1st Team Federal League in basketball. [edit:] Iero was Hoover’s quarterback in football as a senior and was named the Federal League Player of the Year and the Associated Press Northeast Ohio Division I Inland District Offensive Player of the Year. He was a first-team All-Ohio selection. In basketball, he was an honorable mention All-Ohio guard in Division I and earned second-team All-Federal honors after being named first-team All-Federal as a junior. Baseball is his primary sport, and he is en route to earning a second consecutive first-team All-Federal League nod as a hard-hitting second baseman. I should have read the article before posting.
  7. I'm planning on dropping in between 6-8.
  8. Thanks for the report. I was wondering how the evening played out.
  9. Michael Beaven's writeup for the ABJ.
  10. I agree. My heart actually sank a little when I first saw the title of this thread thinking the money was going to a JAR renovation.
  11. Do you have to be a UA student to attend this concert? I know a handful of people that want to go but none of them are students @ the U.
  12. George Thomas: Spring Game summary.
  13. George Thomas: UA Athletics Begin to Look to the Future.
  14. George Thomas: What to look for in the Spring Game. Edit: Try this link.
  15. George Thomas with encouraging news on the DB's.
  16. Ohio.com From the article: The package was delivered to a home on East Dartmore Avenue, which was the residence police listed for Durgala, and it was not addressed to Abreu. “That’s true. It was not,” Meeker said. “It was mailed to the residence where the other person was arrested, Alex was not there at the time and it was not sent to him.” So... now Abreu wasn't even at the house at the time of the delivery? I thought all previous indications were that he had actually signed for the package?
  17. Practice Session 9 Breakdown. George Thomas, courtesy of the ABJ.
  18. Are they scrimmaging tomorrow (Saturday 4/20)? I'd be able to make it if anyone knows the time. Thanks in advance.
  19. 1: Nyles........Melo 2: Q..............B.J. Gladden 3. Harney......McAdams 4. Tree..........Kretzer 5. Pat............Isaiah Redshirts: Kwan Cheatham & Aaron Jackson (Cheatham no doubt, as he'll still be just 17 when he steps on campus in the fall. IMO Aaron Jackson also has to mature - mentally; I saw him play a few times this year & he's awfully cocky -nothing really wrong with that- but he also seems to take a lot of plays off. KD's gonna have to go all Drill Sergeant on AJ this first year.) Best seats in the house: Blake Justice, Deji Ibitayo
  20. Are we sure all scholarship players are returning? I.e., Justice and/or Ibitayo.
  21. You're correct. I didn't hear it today, but I did make a mental note when I heard them announce last Friday that Hipsher was going to be interviewed on Wednesday.
  22. With the development of LB John Rachal, if LB C.J. Mizell and DT Moses McCray make it to camp in the fall, we could/should have a truly stacked front 7. DT's: Nico Caponi Cody Grice Keontae Hollis Lavonne Gauthney James Price Moses McCray DE's: Albert Presley C.J. James Alfonso Horner Jason Stargel LB's: Justin March Jatavis Brown Jamel Turner John Rachal Jon Shelby C.J. Mizell Nick Rossi Jamar Williams It looks like TB has taken us from paper thin to serious depth in only one off season.
  23. I believe he's enrolling in the fall. He's still finishing up his JUCO work.
