  1. Wanted to pop this back up towards the top. I'll be headed to Syracuse with as many as four folks and was wondering if there were any others making the trip to Syracuse? I got a room at Best Western for $55/night via priceline, so it's a cheap trip. Would love to have some friendly faces to tailgate with.
  2. Anyone else notice that Will Fleming had his left arm in a sling?
  3. Just wanted to add a reply and bump this back up the football forum. Looking at cam one, for those of you that can't get down to look at the site, there is some construction equipment operating. It really gives you perspective as to how HUGE that press tower is.
  4. This is clearly K-ent students. An "intelligent" ploy to stir up problems. The photo shows "K-ent Sucks" spray painted on a barrier. K-ent students refer to themselves as "K-ent." We, students and particularly crazy alumni, refer to them as "K-ent State." As in chants of "K-ent State Sucks!" and "Can't Read, Can't Right K-ent State." In all seriousness, this is ridiculous. It just wreaks of trying to bait someone into vandalizing ICS. I hate those guys as much or more than the rest of us and there's no way I would EVER consider damaging university property. I also like the pot-shot "Akron U" comment at the end of the second link. That guy is a regular on K-ent's message boards.
  5. GoZips.com says he has three years of eligibility starting in 2009.Was just on my way back to edit my post. I thought I read somewhere that he redshirted prior to having an injury filled sophomore year. I'm wrong. Three years is great...hopefully the kid lives up to his recruiting expectations.
  6. If you look around a bit on the UL boards, Martin was injured last season and wound up 3rd on the depth chart after spring ball. He's coming to UA and using his transfer year to "get healthy." He'll have two years of eligibility remaining starting in '09. If he gets healthy, he'll likely have a shot at getting a chunk of carries for the Zips in 2010-2011.
  7. The inaugural edition of ESPNs BOTTOM TEN is out. On the one hand, there's only one MAC team listed (NIU at #6).The list also features one Zip opponent (Syracuse at #9)There are TWO MAC schools on the waiting list, and unfortunately one of em is us.I know, I know . It's espn, but just a little more fodder to discuss seeing as we have 3 more weeks to go.
  8. I agree with both sides of this argument. This is VERY thin ice for the coaching staff. I don't think the kid should be written off, but I also think that the staff needs to make it ABUNDANTLY clear that at the slightest hint of any disciplinary problems, this kid is gone. Let's not forget, he was acquitted. Let's hope it was a "wrong place, wrong time" sort of thing. Rivals is the only site that still has him listed as a prospect, and he's the 66th ranked recruit in the nation. That's Zeke territory, but in football. Now just because Torrence doesn't quite have the squeaky clean background that our prize basketball recruit does, doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a chance. My other issue with this situation, is that I believe the kid could be using Akron as a stepping stone to attempt to prove that he's not a problem-child and re-acquire all those "major" scholarships. Especially if he plays this year, he could use his redshirt season in order to satisfy the D-1 transfer requirements. Thoughts?
  9. .....unless your AKRONOr Miami 2001 7-52002 7-5 2005 7-4NIU2002 8-42003 10-22005 7-5Toledo2000 10-12003 8-4Western Michigan2000 9-32005 7-4 Ohio 2000 7-42007 6-6Bowling Green2001 8-32002 9-3The MAC has been getting screwed out of bowls worst then delusional SBC.Those are good examples, but now there's 88 bowls and only, on average, 120 bowl-eligible teams (exaggeration, but you get the point).
  10. No one really answered this question definitely...will the man be able to play this fall IF he chooses to be a Zip?
  11. After cruising through this real quick, the thing I liked was that only Akron, K-ent, and Ohio have odds posted. More proof that the East is the class of the MAC.
  12. It is funny...there's a thread on just about every one of the main boards for MAC teams that I know. Can we compile a list?OU: www.bobcatattack.comMiami: www.miamihawktalk.comK-e-n-t: www.ncaabbs.comAnyone know any of the other "main" message boards?
  13. Took the liberty of editing your post.
  14. I doubt this one. After seeing the Zips play a couple times out in that dump to the East, my only enjoyment there comes from a victory and the fact that I can buy a beer and drink it in my seat.
  15. I didn't. I wouldn't expect it, though.I'm not, just wishful thinking. An outside hope that someone in marketing would have had enough foresight to send imaging information to EA.Hello Unfortunately I do not think the new stadium will be in next years NCAA 2010 football game either. There is a site called Operation Sports where the developers of the NCAA football series were answering questions and someone had inquired about the addition of the new stadium in the game for 2010 and the developer had not even heard that we were building a new Stadium! questionhttp://www.operationsports.com/forums/ncaa-football/251243-adam-thompson-ncaa-designer-q-thread-86.htmlnot so promising responsehttp://www.operationsports.com/forums/ncaa-football/251243-adam-thompson-ncaa-designer-q-thread-88.htmland this was in June of this year. The poster forwarded the stadium website and the developer responded that it may not be done in time to add to the game. I also was reading info from another developer on the same site who mentioned that all new stadiums have to be completed by February at the latest to be able to make it into the game, and they will not use renderings to complete the stadiums, they want actual photos. It seems the more cooperative the school is the better.Interesting boards about the NCAA game there...It's nice to see if you scroll down a couple pages to see a few compliments on the stadium renderings
  16. All these previews are pretty bland. I like to compare this season to '05. Hopefully things go right like they did that year...I found it interesting that Luke Getsy joined the team as grad assistant.
  17. Are there scrimmages going on? Will Zeke be playing? I was headed up to the JAR to purchase my football season tickets and figured I could stop by to see him play.
  18. Bah. This is ridiculous. I wish there was an objective opinion out there. It seems as if those of us who love this University are the only ones who believe that $3 million price was way too much. I wish there was a way for the stadium and dorms to be built with these businesses but deny access to them. I wish there was a way to get these greedy SOBs out of the way without digging so deep into the U's proverbial pockets. Most of all, I wish the entire Nemer family would bid farewell to Akron and Summit county as well. God knows they won't be reinvesting their little "lottery" winnings. I doubt we have any chance during an appeal.
  19. wrong link, cap.

  21. Updated Java, re-booted, and still nothing. Hopefully they come back up tomorrow and it's not something to do with my machine.
  22. I've yet to be able to pull up the cams all day. Looks like my obsession of seeing the site every day will end...unless i drive up there and take a gander
  23. Incredible. Where do you find this crap, Cap?"We clicked on the first day, we are now like brotha's from different motha's," said Morgan.
