April 12th I'll be there for at least one of em.

Ditto, $190 ain't bad for two seasons plus my name on a commemorative wall... I think some friends and I split a tiny brick at Heritage Park at Jacobs Field for $180. That was just for a brick...hahahah.

Is there a "big announcement" in the agenda? Oh, and congrats Zipmeister. You were the first to get me all day. And I've had co-workers trying since 4am. I actually suggested a "big announcement" weeks ago to help set up this morning's communication. Unfortunately, as far as I know there is no such announcement planned (hope I'm wrong).Wow. Now that's joke commitment.

Just for arguments sake...LINKY!Gee, I sure hope we don't get picked 4th next year....

Go tell that to Purdue. 4 freshman are their main contributors and their giving a VERY good Xavier team everything they can handle for a Sweet 16 bid. Is it a rarity to see youngsters stepping up big for your team? Yes. Is it impossible? Not by any means.I was looking into the Purdue roster for nearly the same post (while watching the game). If these guys are as good as advertised, I see a very quick learning curve. And lets be honest, it's one hell of a lot easier to step into the MAC and dominate than it is in the B11.

Here's the problem I had with your topic, aside from it being completely stupid, is the fact that there are only a half dozen posts on here today, and you make that to add to the list. In other words, why couldn't you inject your silly opinion in the game thread where everyone else put their opinions? If you make a new thread, and the 100 other people on this forum who have a more sensible opinion refute you in it, what still ends up happening is your silly thread title is there among the 5 other threads of the day, giving your silly opinion disproportionate representation, as if 1/6 of the people actually think like you.So wait, you are a moderator? I don't see any other threads with any title close to that one, so therefore like in any forum on the internet it would make sense to leave it up. I also think that probably about 1/6 of the people DO think the same, well at least anyone with any basketball knowledge.....I think the real problem here is that you have got a thing for Keith Dambrot.Coach Dambrot is the best thing to happen to this program in a very long time. I guarantee you not even 1/100th of the people on this forum share your opinion let alone 1/6. That being said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, it is most definitely not necessary to create a thread under such a silly name. I assure you, many of us have extensive basketball knowledge, as well as knowledge of the history of this program. I'm sure you and the Hipshers go waaaay back.

or maybe someone who runs the site has a problem with opinions which are against what they believe....kinda goes against the whole point of a "open forum"and don't ever accuse me of being a cant fan again....i hate them more than you could imagineHow 'bout we erase this one now?
-
I think at this point, I think Bryan Hipsher and a couple firecrackers would do the trick.

I don't see why you have to be an ass about it. These guys aren't "easily replaceable" and you'll see that next year when we struggle to get 20 wins. JWood, Ced and Dials are one of the best senior classes in a long time for the Zips. These three are a major part of 50 wins in the last two years. Maybe you should stick to commenting on football.
-
Was gonna start another thread, but I guess I'll just put it up here. Some friends and I are headed up to BW3s on exchange to watch the game. Any other Zips fans gonna be there or elsewhere to watch? It'd be nice to have a group of us.

*recovers from minor heart attack*

And most of them still think they're the better team. Whatever. We're still playing while their season just ended.Only one team in the entire country has the right to complain about not getting into the NCAA tournament, and that's the NIT champion. Let's earn that right.I love how these mid-to-bottom level "BCS" teams act like there's such a disparity between them and the tops of conferences such as the MAC. I got news for all you other Florida States of the world...the "mid majors" are comin'....like a freight train!

9pm on the "deuce" for the NIT.

FAITH ZIPS NATION! THIS IS OUR YEAR! SAY IT WITH ME!!!!THIS IS OUR YEAR!!!!!!

Go to the JAR. Unless you wanna pay $30.

The Hard Rock basement was all Akron folks.

Did a little lurking on the cmu boards. Word is there was an elbow given in practice by minnoy that was deemed deliberate by their coach. Pretty severe punishment. Maybe K-e-n-t should take notes?
-
Thoughts on this one? BIG item of note with Nate Minnoy NOT playing (Scored 21 of CMUs 65 points on 8/13 shooting earlier this year). Zips open at 8 point favorites. I think I would take that bet...if I were a gamblin' man

This is very interesting. Anyone else irritated how 2 of the 3 announced television games are @ the rubber bowl? AND in novemeber nonetheless. As if we don't have enough problems drawing and late in the season, we dont need to give people another reason to stay home.

The tall bald referee is hands-down the worst referee in the MAC (the really tan guy with the hair plugs is a distant 2nd). He makes consistently poor calls, whether they be biased or not, on both sides of the ball. He often looks confused, and blows the whistles on plays where is the furthest official from the ball. Last night was no different. Is anyone aware of a review process for MAC officials?
-
Ummmm nope, I won't. It was apparent to every Akron or non-partisan fan in attendance. They bumped, they slapped, they swatted, they reached and more often than not, nothing was called. I won't bring it up if it doesn't happen. It was the non-calls that made me mad. That last second 3, Fisher pushed off on Dials to:A. Clear space.B. Catch his balance.C. Both.If you chose C. (in my opinion) I think you are correct. But yet again like a lot of the night, there was no call when we needed it. Also I noticed that a lot of the time there was a ticky-tack foul called on Akron when the crowd started to get into it. Now I don't know what that was about, but it happens a lot.I agree with this post completely. If you read the post-game comments from Fisher, he admits to pushing off to clear space for the last shot. I don't want to whine, but with virtually no time left it's gonna take a lot more than that to get a whistle, especially out of MAC refs.

BINGO! Slap that press on periodically. It'll cause a few turnovers with little cost of player fatigue.

Beautiful. Underage D.U.I. nets a one-game suspension. Felony burglary nets a one game suspension. Quality program over there.

Live by the 3, Die by the 3. Never held more true than tonight.Give our team a lot of credit for the comeback, but we play just a little better here and a little better there............This sums it up exactly QZ. Zips hit their season average and we win by a half-dozen. Not to say that we weren't outplayed on both sides of the ball, but we had a lot of good looks from downtown and no one could hit. Hopefully they got the case of the bricksies out of their collective system tonight.
