The Cardinals have nothing to hang their heads about after this one. They gave a tremendous defensive effort, and Basheer Jihad and Jalin Anderson were matchup nightmares offensively. Great game from both of them. Mikal Dawson was the difference late in the game with those two massive three pointers. Excited to see him finding his rhythm offensively again! Experienced squads know how to finish games like these. If I had no rooting interest, this would have been a really fun Tuesday night basketball game to watch. Grateful to get the roadkill!

No matter how trying this season has been, this still matters. I hope this team remembers this game and appreciates what it truly means. Love you Zips. Be proud of what you accomplished in our university's and our city's legacy today. This game will be remembered. Don't ever forget how much today mattered. We are Akron.

I do wonder why the offensive gameplan didn't try to adopt to the front five's shortcomings but it probably takes a better QB to try to execute that.

We have had success against the Bulldogs before. The Zips are 2-0 against Mississippi State all time, with wins in 2005 and 2011. Let's make it 3-0! 💪

The game will be on ESPN3. Zips are 4 point favorites. SDSU will be an excellent challenge for us, so I hope we're ready. The Jackrabbits went 30-5 and were riding a nation leading 21 game win streak before falling to Providence in the NCAA Tournament last season. This is a GREAT out of conference game to open the season at the JAR. Go Zips!

AK Rowdy! We're back! Payback to the Bulls for last year! Tribble knocking down those two free ones at the end was massive. We had to improve on the boards in the second half and we did. Big difference. Ali is better off the ball. Enrique was huge down the stretch. LET'S GO ZIPS NATION!

This team has many good pieces but is yet to develop any sort of identity. This season is going to be much more crescendo than fortissimo from the get go. We'll learn a lot more about our coaches this season, I think.
