I didn't taunt anyone, and I don't see where I implied in any way that I take pleasure in Charlie's misfortune, but his performance was atrocious on Sunday... and that's a fact. Loyalty has absolutely nothing to do with it. Being incapable of objectively judging someone's performance doesn't make you loyal, it makes you a lackey. And did you really just decry a lack of sensitivity on a sports messageboard?

If by "trolling" you mean exposing your point of view as completely untenable, then yes, there is definitely some trolling going on here.

hahahahahahahaha. But seriously, who watched yesterday's game (I had the misfortune of witnessing it firsthand) and didn't think Charlie looked like a high school QB? There is no disputing SGM when he compares the five sacks in three series to one the rest of the game, just admit it. Charlie didn't have a clue, his throws were off target (when he actually threw the ball), and he couldn't scramble to save his life. Anderson looked more mobile, and that's saying something. I'm sorry, I loved the guy here at Akron (and I'm not any sort of huge Browns fan), but he absolutely laid an egg yesterday and to these eyes looks like no sort of NFL QB. (And don't blame the line, he had more than enough time to throw, as did Anderson).Enough with the sgm hating... this place is devoid of objectivity, that's the only reason none of you like him.

Yes, Western has more than one total offensive touchdown in two weeks.

Thanks for the link! -
Haha, yeah, after OSU, Mich, PSU, and Wisconsin the talent drops off a bit. I'd still be interested in looking at draft picks for MAC vs. the remaining Big 10 schools though.

Man this would be awful... it's like our luck with football recruits is spreading to the hardwood.

Um... no.

Victories this weekend are paramount if we're going to get NCAA Tourney home games. Take down the Deacs and the Heels!!!!!!!!!
-
Identical score to last week... OSU 38 - Akron 6.

Haha, well done CK.

Allow me to express my complete lack of surprise that you didn't take me up on my offer... you know as well as I do what's going to happen on Saturday. All of this "dare to dream" and "aim high" rhetoric is hilarious considering you're using it to imply that cheering for UA's football team and hating OSU will really take you places in life and make you a better person. We're talking about supporting a college football team, not curing cancer for crying out loud.

Fantastic showing this weekend. I was unable to attend on Sunday, but Friday's game was excellent and the "goal patrol" came out in greater numbers than I expected and were energetic and loud from start to finish. I'm sure Coach Porter and the players are appreciative... it was a nice gesture on the players' part to come over and salute the Rowdies after the game. Cheers to Sunday's performance as well. It's not easy to hold your own for an entire game while playing a man down, and to notch a goal in the closing minutes in that situation is icing on the cake. For some reason I have a feeling that goal is going to prove very meaningful come tournament selection time. (Anyone know what Bradbrook did to get sent off? If it was a foul was it really deserving of a red?) I'm cautiously optimistic heading into what are probably our two most difficult games of the season this weekend against two highly regarded opponents from the best soccer conference in the NCAA. It's great that we got a spot in this tournament. The defense has been solid, we've controlled the midfield well, and the freshmen have wasted no time making major contributions. One other question... Ossie injured or something? Noticed he didn't play in either game.Bring on Wake and UNC!!!!!

Haha, get out of my head sgm.

They'll be nothing in life? What do you even mean by that? No matter what you mean by it, I'm pretty sure you're delusional. On an unrelated note, you seem to think that Akron is going to come away from The Shoe with a victory on Saturday. Here's your opportunity to put your money where your mouth is Mr. Ake... I'll give you 20 points on a $100 bet on the UA/OSU game this week. Surely if you're predicting a Zips victory then 20-points of padding should make this the most confident bet you've ever placed. Also, your station in life undoubtedly affords you the opportunity to throw $100 around on a whim (y'know, because you've never put on another school's athletic apparel so you're something in life). What do you say?

How many members of The Nation will be in attendance?New Mexico is a quality opponent, one of the best we'll face all year... can't wait!!!

The company I work for does a lot of business in Columbus and it's no secret around the office that I'm a huge UA fan. I asked the Regional Sales Manager to keep an eye out for tickets for me and that's what he delivered... free of charge no less. It was a happy day for me when he showed up with those tickets.

Likewise. 13th row, 45 yard-line.

The irrationality has reached a fever pitch around here. There are "haves" and "have nots" in college football. This is nigh upon indisputable. The "haves" are always going to balk at giving away any ground on the status they've worked hard to achieve... and why not? They have the first mover advantages and they are not wrong to exploit them. Ohio State got off the ground more quickly than we did and became bigger and attained a more presitgious football pedigree over the years... deal with it. Nearly every BCS school is in that boat. Ohio State did not just open their doors and become a football power overnight, history has been kind to them, and not entirely by chance. BCS conferences have larger schools, with larger student bodies, larger endowments, larger sports programs, and consequently, more $$$. There is no reversing that trend, the only solution is to become one of the big name programs, which takes hard work, good fortune, and a lot of time. All that being said, OSU did not hose us on the payout for this game. It followed what the market dictated they pay at the time we contracted to play them, or guess what? Thomas wouldn't have scheduled the damn thing. So enough with the sour grapes about how OSU "owes" us a bigger payday, enough with the out and out lie that we don't get any exposure from playing at The Shoe (hell, with the home crowds we draw, our guys are probably thrilled to play in front of someone other than mom and dad), and enough whining about the fact that we're on an "uneven" playing field when it comes to competing with BCS schools (as if that's some sort of revelation that demands action on the part of some governing body). You'll exact a lot more change by going to the games, cheering for the Zips, and converting your friends... and I can tell you that you won't win too many converts by bitching incessantly about the Buckeyes. I'm already a Zips fan (and UA grad) and nothing irks me more than the people around here who go out of their way to bang on their high chairs in every post about how bad OSU sucks (as if they're our rivals or something). Save it for Can't.

Why do we even bother getting excited about our recruiting classes?

Wow, if that's really what it ends up looking like it should be a FANTASTIC place to watch a game.
