Gonna have to agree with zip90 on this one. When you lose by two points, you can pin the loss on every single missed shot. And who really thinks we'd be better off with Walther than Dials in the backcourt (even ignoring the fact that he's locker room cancer)?

I have way higher expectations for the basketball team than I ever had for the football team. How does one figure that Can't is "loaded from top to bottom"? They might not fall off the map, but losing Youngblood, Haynes, and Warzynski will hurt them a lot. It's Ohio and Toledo that worry me personally. I really think that the Zips are the class of the MAC this year in hoops. I'm the perpetual pessimist (which served me pretty well for this football season), but I have very high expectations for this year's hoop squad.

It's a travesty that UA wasn't given an at-large bid. They didn't perform as well as last year's team, but I can't believe they aren't thought of as one of the top 48. This was Porter's first year and I am very optimistic about what next year holds for this team. McClain, Kozicki, and Ubiparpovic are the only significant contributors that will be lost (interestingly, all three of three were transfer students who only played two years at Akron). Hopefully the return of nine starters, a good recruiting class, and the return of Cory Sipos from injury will be enough to take the team to the next level.

Did Conyers lose a year of eligibility or is he still considered a freshman?

Nevada is a nice team to be able to host and it will be a good barometer as to where we are as a team. Most pollsters view Nevada as a Top 25 team. Don't sleep on Loyola Marymount either, they were a missed layup away from taking down Gonzaga at the buzzer last year... at The Kennel no less. Hopefully we'll draw a good opponent for the Bracket Buster.

Miami (Oh) is 0-4... they inexplicably lost by only 7 at Purdue, while getting their lunch handed to them by Northwestern and Syracuse... they're not good.BGSU is 2-2... but their wins were against Buffalo (they had to come from behind) and Florida International (two perennial "Bottom Ten" teams).Can't might be 2-2, but the two wins were against glorified high school teams... and they lost to Army. This should be an absolute walk in the park.

The Vegas line on this game is Akron by 1 1/2 if anyone cares to make a quick buck.

Ouch, I can't believe we lost to them. It's of very little consolation to note that it was a road game and that OSU really is a more talented team than their record would indicate.

It's ludicrous to think that UA fans attendance at one Can't game is going to suddenly generate enough revenue to get their program out of the toilet. Go to the freakin' game... there is NOTHING worse than playing an away game at your own stadium. Hopefully UA fans will outnumber Can't fans there this year.
