Rollercoaster. Start off down, go up, back down, go way way up, drop way way down (really fast), go right back up high, then throw up and back down really fast again and it's over.

Elevation. On many levels, the program, the blocks and his jersey which will hang from the rafters.

Dambrot open to Q home game and major schedule upgrade
Akron1 replied to xu9697's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
Agreed. I have always thought Akron, CSU and Can't State could play Cincinnati, Xavier and Dayton. They can rotate years. So every two out of three years you have two games at The Q. Or would/could they do a triple header? Easy travel for all six teams. All have pretty solid teams which help RPI. -
Lets make it a Z....I....P...S..Z.I.P.S..Z.I.P.S. Z...I...P...S! I hate that OU cheer with just the drum.

If The U of A can ever get the money it should be between 6,000 and 7,000 seats. That is the max that this area could support. Make it the best 6,000 seat gym around. Picture of South Dakota’s new arena: http://pressdakotan.files.wordpress.com/20...na_interior.jpg We need to make it attractive to the students who in return become alumni season ticket holders. Unfortunately football has missed their opportunity (InfoCision Stadium) to capture the first wave of new alumni fans due to the poor play. That should change soon enough.

Looks and feels so good! Keep it up Zips!

Has anyone else experienced this? I took my Keith Dambrot Bobblehead to work on Monday. I have asked him some tough questions and the answers just seem to pop in my head. It is weird, because it is always the answer that I was sort of thinking. He has helped me so much this week with big decisions. I just look at the bobblehead and ask "What Would Keith Dambrot Do or WWKDD?" And bam...I have an answer. It just works.

Heard that Alex Abreu was on crutches. How true is that? Does anyone know how healthy the Zips at this point?

At the time of the post, the blog wouldn't open. Thanks for your comment. It is nice to feel the love from another Zip fan.

Did he get the 4th year? Great news for this season!

I would love to see a promo for the Miami game like tickets for $6.60 in honor of the Zips historic win. I hope The U of A gets creative and gets people into the games to watch these guys play hard. Make it affordable for people to come in and buy those $6.00 beers. Come on Tom!

Two years too late. We all needed this news two years ago. Could have helped ease the pain.

Sports are popular because it allows people to show support within their community or the area that they live/lived. When you graduate from a college, most will forever be attached to that school or team. I live in Akron and take great pride in my hometown, Cleveland and the State of Ohio. I am probably loyal to a fault with my teams, but I would rather support and root for the Cleveland teams than to be a front runner. Think how much more fun and positive attention it is for this area with hoops succeeding at Cleveland St., Can't State and Akron. A strong Northeast Ohio benefits The U of A on so many levels. Go Zips, Browns, Indians and Cavs. And if Lebron decides to come back I'll forgive and forget. This was supposed to be a topic about possible national exposure for the Zips if Lebron and Wade showed up and how fans would react.

According to WTAM 1100 AM, the Miami Heat are in Cleveland until their game on Friday. Will Lebron and Wade show tonight at the JAR? How will the fans treat them?

Elton repeatedly states how experienced we are, and I somewhat understand his "math." But according to an article on January 1, 2012, by Michael Beaven in the ABJ, "The Zips are the 16th-youngest team in Division I basketball..." Yes, Alex needs to play his game and not try to be DJ Cooper. Yes, Q needs to just play his game. Yes, Harney and Tree need to be in the huddle during time outs. Yes, Zeke needs to take command of his game. Yes, Cvetinovic could be a better leader. The list can go on. These are young talented men, who appear to care about the program and I am sure KD will have them ready for Eastern Michigan and the remainder of the season. This "experienced" team is and will have some growing pains. Let's just hope they continue to win and grab another MAC Championship. KD has five weeks to get them to play 40 minutes how he wants and needs them to play so they can reach their goal.
