I hate it when you have to do something you hate. They were about a week behind at the time the topping off ceremony was conducted. So if you are correct, a month behind at this point isn't too bad. My guess is they will have the project complete within 6 weeks of schedule.

You can watch just about any Valpo league game on the Horizon League network.

Last game, the Zips scored one of the 14 free throws they made for the game at the 14:14 mark to go up by 14. Coincidence? I think not. Zips by 14 against the dribblers from Muncie.

A closer game than most expect. Zips by 14. -
All listed recruits have signed LOI's!!!

An examination of Rivals 2009 recruiting ratings shows the Zips rated above a bunch of decent BCS schools. Pretty impressive. -
So... What time do the faxes usually start rolling in?

Look at how their recruiting classes have been ranked since Gill arrived. They have always been rated awful. -

When was the last time UA had a noseguard? -
Is GJ the only guy on this board who has a clue what's going on? In selecting the matchups for any particular year, Bracket busters always focuses on the rematch to be contested the following year which they have nothing to do with. It's also interesting to read the Valpo message board where Equins is mentioned as the only poster on ZipsNation that gives the Crusaders any respect. Finally, the E man can stand tall. I just hope they don't discover that he is our designated interloping Horizon League apologist.

I'd like to solve the puzzle Alex. I'm going with Henderson based on the string of clues provided by the Captain. -

Let me know if you need some muscle to help coax the rest of the info out of your source. I absolutely guarantee I can get you a name within 15 minutes after "reasoning" with the guy. -
Ha. Sometimes I deserve it. Indeed, it will be really interesting to see how this pans out. Would anyone be against having the west and east stands equal in capacity?I would.I think the eastside upper deck is larger then the westside upper deck due to the pressbox. It's not a depth preception on the camera. It's looking at the supports on the pressbox side vs the east side. Look at the shot below. You'll notice there more supports on the east side Vs where the upperdeck will hit the pressbox. I believe it was by design to have the eastside upper deck larger.Actually, as I look at the photo you provided (thanx) it appears to me that there is nearly the same distance from the bowl to the back of the stands (or the pressbox on the otherside). Yes, there are fewer supports on the west side, but that could be due to the pressbox structure anchoring the load at the back of the stands.[edit-add]I was wrong... you were right (those who were saying the west side looks to be smaller).I just pulled up some plans.EASTBowl: 21 rows / 4065 seatsStands: 38 rows / 8699 seatsWESTBowl: 21 rows / 4065 seatsStands: 29 rows / 6518 eastsWasn't this supposed to be a 30,000 seat facility? Are there really going to be over 6,600 luxury box/whatever seats?

Feb 1 Update - 2009 Recruit Listing
Zipmeister replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Football Recruiting
I'm afraid to imagine what HIS hands look like. :blink:If we got this guy and he actually played I would be really impressed. My guess is his hands would make the Tonganator's dukes look like they belonged on Shirley Temple and that is saying something cause we all know the Tonganator has M.H. -

I have to agree with the kid on this one. Of course, it all depends on your definition of winning. Maybe we won't outscore them, but in terms of gaining a feeling of oneness with the universe, harmonic spirituality, self awareness, and a bunch of other mumbo jumbo crap, we will emerge from this contest as winners. -

Not to rain on your parade but its the NATIONAL Football League. Not the INTERNATIONAL Football League.I had to work in the student union the entire game and missed it all! For the 5.5 hours I was there I had about 7 ppl an hour! When I counted my drawer I had only $5 more then what it costs to pay me for the night!!!Whoever held the gun to your head and forced you to work in the student union should be arrested and punished appropriately. We all have to make decisions in life and live with the results, good or bad. -

Zips Replace Lost WR and add two more
Zipmeister replied to zff's topic in Akron Zips Football Recruiting
Not to steal your thunder, but I heard that to protest the senseless hiring of a head coach from one of the Big 12's worst teams, at least half the team from a prominent SEC team plan on transferring and that most of them will be coming to Akron. However, I can't provide details until much later today as I must do some shopping. You are not alone TPS. I now know at least two people, who got robbed if they didn't get voted "most gullible" in their high school class. Thanks for the PM Z??. -

His time would make him the 4th fastest for the Zips so far this year.http://www.gozips.com//pdf5/370854.pdf?SPS...DB_OEM_ID=10800

I realize the 81-0 score was an exaggeration. I see now that Clark is getting an extra year of eligibility. That will make it tough.I guarantee that Penn's mighty little QB will be, I repeat will be, SACKED hard before halftime. The ZIPS are for REAL in 2009. Final: Zips WIN; 35 to 28I'll bet the Zip who gets the sack will have monster hands! -
This is one of your better ideas. Which of their teams do you recommend we bring in? SIU participates in NCAA Division II competing in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Tigers field teams in basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball, water polo, swimming, golf, and tennis. People might pay good money to watch us take on their water polo team.On a related topic, why does almost everyone other than Akron have their 2009 OOC schedule locked up, but we don't?

Also, I notice that Phil Tonga now is a 3* recruit. Umm, help me out here, but Rivals just recently bumped him up a * or ** in the last few days, right?Despite claims to the contrary on another thread, I suspect the reported offer from Washington had something to do with the bump. Plus you know he has monster hands. -
We need another home game for the upcoming season. An examination of the following web site will reveal that all but a handful of teams have their 2009 schedule set and most with an opening are probably looking for a home game themselves. Central Arkansas is looking for two opponents, or maybe we can talk the Mean Green into visiting one more time. I'm thinking there is a pretty good chance we have to bring in a 1AA (I know it's not officially called that anymore) to fill out the schedule. http://www.nationalchamps.net/NCAA/college...2009_schedules/
