  1. How many times are we gonna add the Tonganator?
  2. Apparently Tressel called him on Tuesday (as in January 27, 2009) and offered Boucher (pronounced boo-SHAY) a scholarship and only after the QB that OSU really wanted verballed to Clemson. I imagine Tressel is incredulous that an Ohio high school kid could turn down a last second invitation to ride the pine in the horseshoe.
  3. This poll almost got me to start my own poll. When I voted the system informed me that there were a total of 24 votes: 11 yes, 2 no, and 2 I'm not sure. My poll question would be: Do you think the number of votes in each category of a poll should sum to the total number of votes? with possible answers of yes, no, and I'm not sure.
  4. You are extremely confused Racer. Football bowls pay the teams to play, they don't charge them to participate. The CIT is a joke.
  5. Hopefully, in a couple of years the Zips can boast of the "Zac & Black Attack."In fact, I am putting a common law copyright on that phrase.
  6. We got structural steel placed as if it was bleachers!
  7. With any luck we will be matched up against YSU.
  8. Good luck to YSU the rest of the way. I enjoyed their victory over Cleveland State. Too bad YSU already played the mighty Butler. That game would be worth the drive over. Watch out for the upcoming Wright State game. They will make every effort to run up the score so they look better than the Zips.In fact when formulating their bball schedule Wright State purposely tries to schedule as many of the same teams that the Zips do with the sole purpose of running up the score to look better than the Zips. It's crazy. It's all people in the Dayton area think about.
  9. We got bleachers!
  10. Was the 1st thing that occured to me at the final whistle I say you're on a roll ZM. Why not stick with the "Zips by 14" prediction until it proves you wrong.I congratulate you on your keen insight at the conclusion of today's contest johnyzip, but a lot goes into my predictions. What follows is the process I have been using this year. Step 1: Calculate the combined W/L record differential of Zips and opponents. For example, say the Zips are 10-2 and the opponent is 8-7. The combined W/L record differential is 7. That is 10-2 = 8 and 8-7 =1, and, therefore, 8 – 1 = 7. (Do not simply combine the two teams wins and losses. To illustrate (10+8) – (2+7) = 9, not the correct 7. Step 2: Take the combined W/L differential (e.g., 7) from Step 1 and add (or subtract if the combined W/L record differential is negative) from the most recent Zip’s Sagarin rating (and add 2 more if it is a Saturday game). Step 3: Using 4 for a senior, 3 for a junior, 2 for a sophomore and 1 for a freshman, calculate the starting lineup experience differential. Step 4: Divide the Adjusted Zip’s Sagarin rating from Step 2 by the starting lineup experience differential from Step 3. Step 5: Calculate the starting lineup height differential . Step 6: Finally, the game score differential is calculated by first dividing the experience adjusted, adjusted Zip’s Sagarin rating from Step 4 by the starting lineup height differential from Step 5, then multiply the resulting value by zero and add 14.
  11. Nailed another prediction on the nose....Akron by 14!
  12. If this is a cheap shot against OU's head football coach teaching by example it is totally uncalled for. Plus, I have always said if you are having a couple of dozen brews the best place to have them is "in the systems."
  13. I look for NJIT to extend their win steak to 2 with a 14 point win over Longwood this weekend.
  14. Zips win comfortably by 14.
  15. One thing the video does not show that is critical to success at Akron: when in the shotgun, how well can he handle the ultra high snap? Perhaps we should be recruiting their center.
  16. Rivals.com reports the Nicely signing, but Scout.com does not. What really has me worried, however, is that neither site is confirming that we have locked up the Tonganator (he has monster hands)!
  17. Yes. And  I think athletically Jermaine is way above the caliber of Toledo's recruiting class. With his academic difficulties, however, he is a perfect fit for the Toledo program. Oh, but this is not meant to be a backhanded compliment and I wish him and Toledo all the best.
  18. Another interesting link.http://www.espnubracketbusters.com/participation.html
  19. What a coup for Massilon! I would get as much of that $375K in advance as possible. So far this league makes the old Continental Football League look like the NFL.
  20. I wonder how many of the almost 400 dudes on the team rosters have ever heard of it.
  21. I checked out their preseason roster and the Ohio team is loaded! Somehow they managed to draft Chris Hollie and Demar Greenslade both out of Langston. Now if they can just get Phil Tonga (he has monster hands) to sign they should have the championship locked up.
  22. Never mind. Upon closer inspection, WSU had no interest. It was just dreal1 doing the same thing as here on their message board. Please show me where/when I was ever on any WSU's message board. I don't need to post fluff material/data for Phil Tonga, the man speaks for himself. I know him, I've see him play, watched his videos, and know that several D1 schools are still actively pursuing him including UA. Unfortunately Scout.com and Rivals.com has not yet been updated with his bio, etc. I believe that is the responsibility of his current JC school's recruiting coach to request that that info be posted/updated. For whatever reason, it has not yet been done that I know of. Myself, I'm from Buffalo, now living in the Los Angeles area. For sure I would love to see Phil go against Buffalo as would many of my relatives. Hopefully a win/win outcome will soon surface and you Mr. Zipmeister (O yee of little faith) will be a happy camper if he lands at UA. If he lands at any other MAC school, I hope you have a taste for crow. Ciao, whoops, I mean Chow. Ask and you shall receive (see 6th post on the following link). At least on the Coug post you admit the Tonganator played second string Junior College Ball.http://washingtonstate.rivals.com/showmsg....089&style=2
  23. Never mind. Upon closer inspection, WSU had no interest. It was just dreal1 doing the same thing as here on their message board.
  24. Hmm, looks pretty good, are you saying that Akron has the inside track?I believe he is saying anyone who makes an offer has the inside track. There seems to be an incredible lack of interest for this guy who does look ok on the video provided.
  25. I'm going to go with Akron by 14 for this one.
