I don't think anyone really thinks the schedule as a whole is that bad. The main complaint, or mine at least, is the home cupcake lineup.

That 2011 VCU game.. just ugh. Prime example of that.

That's pretty par for the course, I wouldn't read too much into it.

I consider myself about as big of a sports fan there is, and I had no idea that was true. I'm just trying to think as a casual fan.. Dave's "big" home games, Nevada, Temple, VCU pre-final four run, I'm not sure a casual fan would really hear those names and call the box office for tickets. We realize those are awesome games to have at home, just as Dayton was (DiG, what was the attendance for that one?).. But I think the casual fans would show up in more numbers vs say, Penn State at home, regardless of how much worse they are on the court than the above mentioned teams.

I'm not sure I'd call Temple a "name" team

It's not just the shitty facility. It's the shitty facility, a shitty home schedule and a shitty game day atmosphere. Fix one or two of those and I do think attendance would be pretty decent. As it is, it's a perfect storm of mediocre attendance.

If it's done in stages, I wouldn't expect the whole thing to get finished by the time a new arena is announced. Who knows though.

If you're taking out 38, you might as well take out 70? These are millions.. 32 extra million dollars. You say it like it's nothing. I'm assuming the new JAR will have some luxury options, really the only way to bring in extra revenue. Use that to start saving for a new arena. As far as I can tell, the options are A) renovated JAR or B.) do nothing. I don't really see a new arena as an option now, or I'd be all for it. I understand this is lipstick on a pig, but I suppose it beats the pig we have.

I would say it's like a 25 year old buying a 100K house to start out instead of a 250K home. They can only do what they can afford.

It isn't an exhibition. Fortunately for the Zips, it doesn't count towards RPI, while another game against a NC Central A&M State would bring the RPI down,so I guess it beats the alternative.

I remembering thinking the same thing about Alex when he first arrived (a little reckless when it came to driving to the rim), and he turned out alright. Well, as a basketball player at least It'll come with experience.

I don't mind it. Shooters shoot.. With an inexperienced lineup, no harm in having a vet out there, even if he's cold.
