No way that we win 5 more games and only move up two spots. I'd expect around a #17 ranking or higher by that point. Teams in front of us losing, plus us adding more wins is good for a couple spots each week. Just win, baby!

It reminds me of the penguins/capitals rivalry. The flyers will always be the pens' #1 rival, but the ovechkin/crosby factor upped that rivalry for a couple years. The games were more exciting than the flyers games, as the flyers has a down year or two. The caps fans were also overly infatuated with everything pittsburgh, which has some interesting parallels but the caps and ovi have fallen off, and the it feels right hating the flyers again. I look forward to OU dropping off, and hating Can't again. OU is a fun little rivalry, but they're just the flavor of the week, in my opinion.

The site is "akronsportsnow," what do you expect? One fan base looks like fools constantly crying on their rival's board. So there's that, I guess.

I <3 Frenchy. I hate when people complain about homer announcers. He's an announcer on 1350 Akron that 99% of the audience is probably Akron fans. If he was biased while announcing on ESPN2, the criticism would have some weight. He's just a big Zips fan, wouldn't have it any other way.

The Bilastrator, Jay Bilas just picked us as his mid major team to watch in the tournament. The gameday crew is at rupp arena for the UK game tomorrow and they were each asked to puck a team. The three choices were Creighton, Butler, and our Zips! Gave huge props to Zeke and Tree. Even called him Tree.

Nothing againts Jonas.. but there's a big difference between hitting threes when you're up 20 and hitting them when you're down by 2 in the final minute.

Funny thing is, if our name was Michigan State instead of Akron, everyone would know 2 OT losses came without 2 starters. I know that's the way it is, but it stinks.

CBB games are 40 minutes long, not middle school 24 minute games. Depth definitely plays a factor, especially with our style. Check out our scores in 2nd halves vs. 1st halves. We wear teams down with our depth. Note, I am not saying that means we will wear down OSU and beat them, but to say depth doesn't play a role in a 40 minute game is ignorant.

Their RPI was 66. I know we don't like to let facts get in the way, but if we lose one game the rest of the way, we'll be in the 30s.
