Yes. Two stages. First takes it to 45,000; second to 68,000. Don't fret. Hiring Paul Winters will cure any desire to expand. Yes it won't be expanded any time soon, but they have a "plan" in place IF it is ever needed. I've heard that the first would included seating above the grass hill on the south side, and moving the video screen and scoreboard up above that. Guess one of the original reasons they didn't want to put a lot of work and money into the scoreboard fixture. That would easily take it over 45,000, but I'm not sure what the second phase would include. It's interesting and fun to think about, but it's one of those "if only..." dreams that most likely will never happen. Any idea where the other 23,000 seats would be? I'd assume an upper deck over the side w/o the press box & suites.

I really don't get it... What is the fascination with this guy. If people want a former Zip so badly why not get Charlie Frye or Jason Taylor haha at least people actually remember them!! I'm not sure if Withers played for Akron..

He's "advising" us to take a position coach with no experience running a team or calling plays. That's not encouraging at all. Lets hope not. May be a nice guy but even with Tressel recommending him thats way too much of a reach. Too much OJT needed there. I trust Tressel's thoughts on a new HC over Tom's, to be honest.

I will say that it is encouraging that Tressel is advising.

I'm gonna sound like Dave when I say this, but there is no recipe for a good choice. Some great HC's had their first job as a HC in the MAC. Previously their highest position was a coordinator. Urban Meyer, Brady Hoke, Al Golden, Gary Pinkel... Point is, we need to find the right coach for us. He may have been a head coach for 30 years, or never.

I think anyone that has been near Ianello needs to go. Fresh start. Not like we have too many recruits to hold onto anyway.

I doubt if he "interviewed". He was probably presented with a coaching offer. Surely the UofA attorneys did their homework prior tho any job offer. I report, you decide

I think the fact that we've heard absolutely nothing tells us a decision hasn't been made, either way. The fact that the rumor gained so much traction tells me it's at the very least a possibility. I'm still holding out hope.

He could be better. Lots of guys could win at Akron. I know this. I just mean until he wins games, in the eyes of the public he just isn't Tressel. Basically, and understandably, anyone that gets hired not named Jim Tressel is going to be a disappointment for most.

This is what will happen if Tressel doesn't come. Campbell would be a great hire, imo...but he just won't be Tressel.
