You only had to go to a handful of games this year and go out before and after the games to get a good idea what winning did to business. You are partially correct, but mostly incorrect. Billboards can be extremely effective in building brand and awareness, I helped run a billboard campaign this year for a newer Cleveland-based sports league that was very successful. Cost was very minimal, we were actually able to get space donated during two months. When I say minimal, think a night out with the Mrs, not vacation money.

Yes, and no. More than 90% or NBA fans that live in Akron are Cavs fans. He pooped on Cavs fans last night on national tv. That hurt/dissed a lot of people that live in Akron. The one thing I can say about LBJ, he has said "Akron" so much in the media that most of the media people are repeating it. I think most people around the country realize he's from Akron and not Cleveland. I'm not sure that really helps anything though. Maybe if the University builds a South Beach branch.

I agree. If Akron fans can find a silver lining, I think this is it. His guilt for leaving may make him do more.

I'll try, but I'm not very motivated. 1) I'm not a Browns fan, but I'm only guessing the emotional effect of the Cavs/Browns fan has the same punched in the gut feeling this morning. The disappointment may be bigger with the old stuff, but the hatred is greater now. I think most of the sports world hurts for Cleveland fans this morning. 2) Winners find a way to win, losers find a way to lose. Montana winner, Browns losers. 3) Worse economy today.
