  1. What do you want? Sit with other Zip fans? Cheap tickets? Best seats available?
  2. I want to see Rodgers in a baseball cap, holding a clip board. +1 I'm not sure why joe football is in love with the "wild cat" Eff that dumb "package." Concentrate on running your offensive scheme properly and you don't need any bs "package" I remember last year a reporter asked Bruce Arians about running the "wild cat" package for his team. His response was "he'll get killed, there is only one guy in this league that can run that, and his name is Ronnie Brown" Sometimes if a backup QB has a different skill set than the starting QB, I don't mind giving him a series and run your regular offense. I'm not sure that is the case in Akron right now. PD dedicates 4 sentences on the subject today.
  3. This is a good opportunity for Akron/Mac football, no doubt....BUT, I wouldn't pat anybody too hard on the back over this deal. My guess is that STO did most of the work. STO is in final edits on a sports program that my wife is involved with, and they come to her league and did 90% of the work. They are aggressively looking for new programming. Bottom line is that football fans get to see more Zips/Mac on tv. Now the hard part, providing them quality entertainment!
  4. Telling thread. It will be fun to refer back to. Congrats PN7, Don't Look Back!
  5. Thanks johnny, if they held a one hour show on ESPN for "The Announcement" that would be cool. I'm 99 percent sure what the decision is. Hell, I knew before iCoach did.
  6. Any notes from anybody? edit: thanks jz84 & rowdy
  7. I don't know if any of you have watched Hard Knocks on HBO the past seasons. If you haven't, you have been missing out. It's excellent. This year, the Jets are featured and the first episode was aired Wednesday. I'm not a Jets fan, but I'm a big fan of the way they play football. And of course my favorite Zip gets his face time on the first episode. If your a fan of the greatest game in the world, check it out.
  8. What if that is scaled back. I have heard this complaint from many Zip fans. I would imagine it's hard to change your "personality" on the radio if you don't want to sound fake. I wonder what Steve would say if asked the question as to why he sounds so negative when the Zips are failing? I get to listen to a lot of college football throughout the country since I have Sirius radio. On the grand scale of things, I think Steve ranks above average around the country.
  9. Your confusing Joe Dunn with Steve French right? Steve does play by play, Joe, or JJ as he is being called, does side line reporting. Joe Dunn is very positive about 95% of what he reports. He is VERY pro Akron. I agree that you can guess the score by the tone of Steve's voice. Both are super nice guys and I have grown to enjoy listening to both.
  10. I'm liking the way iCoach says "Go Zips" at the end of his videos.
  11. I read Pitt on other sites also. I read Auburn on one too. It doesn't surprise me that I don't know this since I hate the Big Ten and don't watch it, but this is interesting: Wonder if Bubba knew that?
  12. Good idea, his name crossed my mind, but I didn't know what he was doing for a living now a days.
  13. This is a photo of Ohio State right tackle J.B. Shugarts taken at the team’s media day earlier this week: source Can't wait for September 3, 2011

  15. Nice read. I like this statement...“The first thing I told my team is that they are my team, they’re my guys,” Ianello said. “I know they had been recruited by someone different, but this is my team and we’re all in this thing together. My goal is to get everyone on the same page and everyone working for the same brand."
  16. Your right, but do something original, no need to copy Mike Marchinsky's idea like OU did. Especially since the idea came at the hands of Akron's home town NFL team. BTW, one of the top 5 games I have attended in my life.
  17. No way you can play defensive back at Akron and make it to the NFL. Signed Dwight Smith I agree with Dwight. Signed Reggie Corner Both you guys are crazy. Signed Victor Green
  18. ZN predictions from May 2010 Expectations Poll ZN predictions from June Predict our record When I read my prediction from May 13, I haven't seen/heard anything that would change my mind on August 12th. I still agree with me.
  19. The University of Akron football team wrapped up its seventh day of preseason training camp on Wednesday, with a three-hour afternoon practice at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field. Today's lone session, the eighth of 30 total leading up to the start of the season, was sandwiched between two two-a-days. Yesterday the squad took to the field for workouts in both the morning and evening, and will do the same on Thursday.
  20. Thanks for taking the time to post the photo.
  21. Your kidding right? The guy is a walking cliche. I feel dumber after listening to him.
  22. Now your just trying to make me mad. Cope is the only football announcer to be inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame and the recipient of the Pete Rozelle Award for "long-time exceptional contributions to radio and television in professional football. Cigarettes took Copes life. Cope gave the rights to The Terrible Towel (one of the greatest marketing ideas in NFL history) to the Allegheny Valley School in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. The school provides care for more than 900 people with mental retardation and physical disabilities, including Cope's autistic son. Proceeds from the Terrible Towel have helped raise $3 million for the school. He was like Herb Score, you turned your tv off and listened to the radio because you wanted to hear what he had to say. He was a little more than "drunk out of his mind."
