  1. Well done. I'm loving the quality of print that is coming from the BJ. "At one point, a staff member comes in to show the staff the new signals. Each play is signaled from the sideline by three people — and only the offense knows which is active. It's almost like watching a game of charades. ''We've only got about 4,000 of them,'' Montgomery quips."Our QB looks to the sidelines and reads all the signals coming back to him, then the QB tells the OL the info, then he motions his hand down, the play clock ticks down to 2, 1..we rush the snap, the snap is off to the side so the timing of the play is thrown off, by the time the RB gets the ball the hole has closed and it's a no gain.IMO we need to simplify our offense and EXECUTE. Call a play and execute THAT play. Seems to me that we make a run play off tackle left WAY to hard to succeed. We seem to increase the risk of failing.
  2. Reminds me of the old 68 Pittsburgh Penguin sweaters.
  3. Fear the Turtle......Fear the RooOakland Zoo......Roo ZooWorks for others, why not us I guess.I like the shirts.
  4. BIG difference. Toledo is specifically says Columbus State gear. IMO that takes balls. Good for them!
  5. I've always seemed to care more about the players that play on the field, they seem to make more of a difference when it comes to winning games. It's a very rare occasion that a player that doesn't dress for a game makes an impact on the outcome of the game. I can think of a few, but not many. There was that one guy that didn't dress and tripped that return man during the game, and I'm trying to think of the other one....Here is a shot I took after the game Saturday for ZN members that like to discuss players that don't play or dress for games:Just realized I had this one from Saturday too...look close:
  6. All these things were being done in the Rubber Bowl/Mike Thomas days (2005). All good ideas. We also need to improve our "product" and the rest should fall into place. But we will have a limited time to improve on said product with the new stadium until people lose interest. We need more fans like PSU_Lions_84, he seems motivated.
  7. Not true Zip fans. I think most figured that the 1st game at the Info (whomever it was), Indiana and Can't State were going to sell out and got their tickets early.
  8. I think Allen should do well for you this weekend.
  9. Nice Article. How can you not be a fan of his? Photo of Andre I took before the Penn State game:
  10. +1The coaches know the talent of DeVoe. That is not an issue.
  11. Call the ticket office and ask, then update us, (330)972-6920
  12. I don't think that is a good guess.
  13. How many teams in your league? How many running backs do you start and bench? Just curious as to where you selected him.It doesn't bode well that he didn't start the game for us in Happy Valley, hopefully he does this week, if he does, I think you will be fine.Any other MAC RBs selected?
  14. IMO, part of coaching is about putting your best talent in an advantageous situation to succeed...your example is NOT an example of that.
  15. Me too. Let him get a year of experience under his belt along with some time in the weight room. He could be big for us the next four years. If Nicely needs time in the weight room, it ain't much. He physically looks like a college QB right NOW. I have yet to see him throw a pass in practice, but I watched him closely during warm ups Saturday. He has an over the top release and it looks strong and quick to me. I am anxious to see him play next year. I am only basing this on ten minutes of warm ups and the "eye ball" test, but I'm excited to see what he can do.I'm not ready to get that excited on evaluating the QB's after one game in Happy Valley. If you had images of those defensive lineman in your head like Rodgers and CJ did, I would be willing to bet your performance would suffer also.
  16. Treated fine. PSU fans were lined up waving to the team buses going into the stadium and out of the stadium. Student section and participation was impressive. Nice stadium, didn't realize how old it was and how many updates it has. Walking around and seeing the old construction (bathrooms, concessions and locker rooms, video board), makes me realize how lucky Zip fans are to have the new gem of a stadium. I was VERY impressed with the field, grass looked almost fake it was so nice. I also noticed how PSU's warm ups were conducted, very professional. I think your run defense is OUTSTANDING, 71, 91 and 56 are just BEASTS. I'm VERY jealous to see DL play like that. If we had those three on our team and you didn't, that would make for an interesting game. I'll be interested to see their (DL) production in Big10 play. I don't think it will be slowed. Thanks for stopping back after the game.PS I would also like #10 on our team. He destroyed anybody he blocked yesterday, when he was in motion, it was obvious to me where Royster was running.
  17. Where is that dead horse emoticon?
  18. 1. Out of the shotgun, TE medium gain, more than 5, less than 10.2. Out of the shotgun, leg up, leg down, look to the sideline, leg up, leg down...timeout.
  19. Don't forget, new guy calling plays this year, so last years film won't be too much help for that.
  20. In, and I can't wait
  21. Penn State vs Pitt once again...well sort of...Harris' team this time around doesn't stand much of a chance against the No. 8 Lions, who are favored by 27 points. Still, it would be foolish for PSU to underestimate Harris and the Zips, who almost certainly will be trying to take advantage of the Lions' inexperienced secondary.
  22. Good to hear. Keep me posted when they are available.
