  1. Press conference notes. • We had no idea Jackson was going to play. We didn't get the Jackson that could run. • Deltron has a nice little side step. He has explosive plays. He makes bigger plays off the same things we have been calling. You say what's the difference in the run game, it's him. • Tommy is efficient • Kevin Gladney got the game ball for his TD catch • Alvin is okay for this week. • Our depth is getting better. Guiser and Alvin out, able to fill in with quality depth. • Penalties continue to get better. We emphasized it more than I have ever done in my life.
  2. Coach Bowden, "Tommy Woodson was 7 for 12 on third downs. He was on fire." Coach Bowden, "We don't do much transfer recruiting now a days" Nice piece on double D.
  3. After answering 9 in a row (ZN unofficial record), @Lee Adams answers scare me. ?☠️? Nothing against you Lee, but I hope your amazing streak comes to an end.
  4. Here is the play I speak of. Watch Ritz pull and lead the way. I would like to see a few more of these Tuesday.
  5. Our last three games on the schedule will be in bad weather, I think the Zips will have to improve their run game to be successful this month. I like what I saw at the end of the game last week. I thought Sands was able to take advantage of the defense over pursuing. Including next week, it will be six games without Ball, and he will still be the Zips leading rusher through mid November. I remember earlier in the season pulling the Guard and running counters through that hole, I don't recall seeing that recently. I thought that was a successful play that was helping to move the chains. Akron is ranked 19th in the country in Red Zone Defense, I'm not overly worried about the Bobcats offensive drives.

  7. Thomas Woodson earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Week honors for the East Division, the league announced on Monday. Woodson took home Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Gasser was named Specialist of the Week. In Akron’s 21-20 win over Buffalo, Woodson went 21-of-29 for a season-high 286 yards and three touchdowns. Woodson moved into second place on the Akron career list with 6,829 passing yards Woodson is also No. 2 in career passing touchdowns (53).
  8. Congrats to only 11 members who predicted Thomas Woodson to start the most games for the Zips this year.
  9. Graphic shown on Sunday night NFL game.
  10. "...In the expanded role, where Featherstone is splitting series with junior Jordan George, the Penn Hills product collected a career-high 11 tackles, including seven solo, in a 22-17 loss at Troy on Sept. 23..." Hard to tell the snap counts, but Shawn was all over the field Saturday. Impressive if 2 and 7 are splitting time, and were the leading tacklers Saturday!?!? A product of Buffalo chucking the ball around 50 times on rainy day, but still impressive. From my perspective (which is tough sometimes, especially with weather) other than Featherstone, I thought Brian Bell was seeing the field very well.
  11. Zips Wins - 5 Warren Ball rushing yards - 332 ? Reception Leaders - Tra’Von 37, Coney 35, Smith 22, and Wolf 19 Defensive sacks - 16 Coney, 7 catches yesterday. Closing the gap....
  12. Fransohn Bickley scores the first TD (someone not listed), Zips score 21, and win by less than 5. Congratulations to this weeks winners @zipsoutsider @GJGood @ziptrumpet87 ....and @Lee Adams who has won THREE weeks in a row!?! Impressive.
  13. What if we set something like this up? Would it be easier? Someone with knowledge of excel can add the percentages and snap counts automatically. Then we could compare week to week and notice trends and strategies. File can be found here if anybody with wants to do it this week.
  14. From @CDMac hard work of information. 45% of the time we were in 10 personnel (last 18 plays) 18% of the time we were in 12 personnel 17% of the time we were in 11 personnel 5% of the time we were in 00 personnel 3% of the time we were in 21 personnel 2% of the time we were in 22 personnel Snap counts (these are approximate due to the fact you can't see every player on tv without the all 22 view) 82 Austin Wolf = 43 snaps 3 Kwad Smith= 43 snaps 11 AJ Coney= 38 snaps 5 Tra Chapman= 31 snaps 21 Fran Bickley= 22 snaps 15 Nate Stewart= 13 snaps 19 Andre Williams= 11 snaps 17 Anthony Young = 7 snaps 9 Manny Morgan= 39 snaps 7 Van Edwards= 18 snaps 22 Deltron Sands= 5 snaps 36 Kobie Booker= 29 snaps 45 Brandon Junk= 9 snaps
  15. Anthony, done for the year. Shoulder surgery. Hurt in last weeks game.
  16. If u need help, pm me.
  17. Rodney Coe, back in Seattle, Go Hawks! Coe had seven tackles including a tackle for a loss in preseason but was not able to secure a final roster spot or a spot on the team's practice squad due to injury. He was waived injured during roster cuts and handed an injury settlement a week later securing his release. Now, the undrafted player out of Akron in 2016 will return; perhaps to help with practice.
  18. Logan Woodside is the ninth rated QB in the country PS It's a little shocking to me that Mayfield is number one, I saw nothing special when he played the Zips. He obviously improved.
  19. Per Oddsshark: Drew Anderson QB Shoulder is downgraded to doubtful Saturday vs. Akron Tyree Jackson QB Knee is downgraded to doubtful Saturday vs. Akron The State of the MAC: Quarterbacks Buffalo Bulls: Kyle Vantrease took over in the middle of the 14-13 loss to NIU. Vantrease's offense could not score a touchdown that game, and the freshman followed up by losing his first career start to Miami (OH) 24-14. He will continue to start until Jackson or Anderson returns from injury.
  20. And now Wentz is being talked about as an MVP. Wow.
  21. Haha, just renting. Other Florida bowl games may work for me as well. Boca would be a pretty easy train ride. St. Petersburg would be a four hour drive, but probably doable. Just win baby!
  22. I fear playing in the Bahamas Bowl because I'll be in Miami that day. The logistics would be tempting, but more than epic. I would have to catch a bus in Miami to the train station at 6 am, take the train to Fort Lauderdale, take a three hour boat "shuttle" to the Bahamas arrive near 11 am, find my way to the stadium, more than likely have to leave by 4:30 pm to catch the three hour boat back to Fort Lauderdale. Take the 40 minute train ride back to Miami, and take a bus back to my condo by, oh, I would guess 11:30 pm. ? Just win the MAC please.
