  1. Brock Boxen had surgery today, and is out for the season. "8 screws, 1 plate, out for the season but surgery went well" per Brock's Instagram. Get Well Brock.
  2. This week's Sports Illustrated.
  3. Woodson is a difference maker at the most important position in the game. The injuries are significant and are eating into our depth. Some good fortune has to be around the corner with all the bad luck they are having in the injury department. Coach commented in a presser that the offensive play calling doesn't change between the two QBs. I would alter that philosophy this week if Tra was going to start again. Not a lot, just limit some of the crossing middle deep options. I might use the 12 personnel some more.
  4. Saturday, October 22, 3:00 PM on ESP3 Scheumann Stadium, Muncie, Indiana Coaches don't have to report any injuries, but this site has been pretty close each week. Jerome seems to be new to the list this week. I also know Zach Guiser is out with a dislocated elbow (per his instagram page), and I have to think Boxen is questionable at best with what seems to be a knee. 10/16/16 Jerome Lane Shoulder injured last game, "?" Saturday vs. Ball State 10/16/16 Jojo Natson Shoulder "?" Saturday vs. Ball State 10/16/16 Se'Von Pittman Undisclosed "?" Saturday vs. Ball State 10/16/ Thomas WoodsonShoulder "?" Saturday vs. Ball State 10/16/16 Warren Bal lUndisclosed "?" Saturday vs. Ball State 10/05/16 Jamal Marcus Undisclosed out for season Ball State seems pretty healthy according to this site. 10/15/16 OT Steven BellUndisclosed "?" 08/29/16 OL Andrew Poenitsch Leg out for season Mark Roberts picks Ball State to win by two.
  5. source Zach Guiser -- "Well, after dislocating my elbow, breaking my nose, and severely spraining my ankle in 2.5 quarters of play, the Man upstairs made it very clear that He wants me to sit out for awhile. I'll be back better than before. Maybe this year, maybe next year. Regardless, my team is gonna do big things the rest of the season." Get well Zach.
  6. Many different Zips covered Corey with man coverage. Corey lined up all over. He looks legit to me. Congratulations to: ZippyRulz, Blue&Gold, MDZip, zippyfan34, GoZips88, zippy5, kreed5120, blueandgold, zippy_ua_00, and Zip-Zap. All got three correct.
  7. Wrong, or right, interesting that no ZN member thinks the Zips can hold Corey Davis from scoring a TD. Should be a GREAT matchup to watch. Let's see how much help the Zips use in covering him, or do they play man, or mix? Shut em down boyz!
  8. TV channel: CBS Sports Network (DirecTV 221; Dish 158) Commentators: John Sadak, Randy Cross, Taylor Rooks Live stream: CBS Sports
  9. 8 hour trip to Tennessee November 6th to root JB on. $52 tickets. No Zips game the day before. A more affordable trip to FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland Saturday, December 24. You should be able to walk through the parking lot and score free tickets. Five bucks tops. The place will be half empty that day. I just happened to check the ticket exchange the other day, and was astounded how cheap Browns tickets are. It would be cool for the Browns to work with the Zips to put together an Akron section. Our AD might have some ins. PFF Top defensive grades: ILB Jatavis Brown, 85.5 ILB Korey Toomer, 84.6 OLB Melvin Ingram, 82.2 DE Joey Bosa, 82.0 NT Brandon Mebane, 80.7 San Diego rookies make big impact This isn’t your 2015 Chargers run defense or anything close to resembling it. San Diego finally has the horses up front to not only limit a run game, but stop it in its tracks. Outside of a few runs late in the game, the Broncos running backs had nowhere to go for most of the game. A big reason for their defensive success was the rookie duo of Joey Bosa and Jatavis Brown. Brown had a huge sack and forced fumble down the stretch while Bosa was consistently applying pressure throughout the game with five hurries and a hit. PFF Game-Ball Winner: Chargers linebacker Jatavis Brown
  10. Western Michigan's rise under P.J. Fleck has been underscored by his popular "row the boat" mantra. Within the walls of his program, another saying carries as much or more gravitas: "The ball is the program." The Broncos are living it so far this season. They're the only Bowl Subdivision team that has not committed a turnover. As far as Fleck is concerned, that statistic best explains how his team has won six straight games for its best start since 1941and entered the Top 25 for the first time, at No. 24. "You come to one of our practices," quarterback Zach Terrell said Wednesday, "you're going to hear 'the ball is the program' at least 10 times." source
  11. He can finally play the TE position he has always wanted to play.
  12. Is there any history of coach Amato (and staff) game planning against top receivers? • Sterling Shepard (NY Giants) had three catches for 68 yards with no tds last year against the Zips. • Tajae Sharpe (Tenn Titans) had seven catches for 53 yards with no tds last year against the Zips. Can the secondary rise to the occasion against another future NFL'er this Saturday? Sources say that Corey Davis was getting second-round grades prior to him deciding to return for his senior year. Davis was banged up in 2015, but he still produced with 82 receptions for 1,253 yards with 11 touchdowns. In 2014, Davis was excellent with 78 catches for 1,408 yards and 15 touchdowns.
  13. Feel free to discuss your answers below. Members that answer all three correctly will be recognized Sunday morning.
  14. Take with a grain of salt, coaches are not obligated to report anything, but.... 10/12/16 Thomas Woodson Shoulder is upgraded to probable vs. WMU 10/12/16 Tra'Von Chapman None expected to start vs. WMU 10/10/16 Jojo Natson Shoulder injured last game, "?" vs. WMU 10/10/16 Se'Von Pittman Undisclosed "?" vs. WMU 10/09/16 Warren BallUndisclosed"?" vs. WMU 10/05/16 Jamal Marcus Undisclosed (I'm pretty sure this is a shoulder) out for season
  15. With those 5 predictions, aren't you missing 2 more games?
  16. I wasn't the only one that noticed, Alvin got a well deserved player of the week.
  17. I still think they can overcome.
  18. The Zips are ten and a half point underdogs. I would guess the money line to be around 7:1. Over under is 68. Oddsshark predicts the score to be 39-30 Broncos.
  19. Anybody spot Super Bowl champion, Dwight Smith Saturday?
  20. Again, take these with a grain of salt, coaches don't have to disclose any info on injuries, but.... 10/10/16 Jojo Natson Undisclosed injured last game, "?" Saturday vs. Western Michigan 10/10/16 Se'Von Pittman Undisclosed"?" Saturday vs. Western Michigan 10/09/16 Thomas Woodson Shoulder"?" Saturday vs. Western Michigan 10/09/16 Warren Ball Undisclosed"?" Saturday vs. Western Michigan At the beginning of the season if you said, name 5 players getting injured that would weaken the team's chances of succeeding, my list would look something close to the above (with Marcus). Hats off to the team and staff for maintaining a high level of play in their absence. Let's hope all return and excel.
  21. PFF has WMU as their 20th ranked team in the nation. Western Michigan’s procession continues apace, with perennial MAC powerhouse, Northern Illinois, the latest to fall. Pass-rusher Keion Adams has three sacks and twenty total pressures, he entered Week 6 as the tenth-ranked edge defender in the nation. Things get a little tougher for the Broncos this week, with a road game against East division leaders Akron.
