  1. AA just tweeted:
  2. +1 That's what I've come to love about Akron basketball since I came to the university two years ago. Not only do we win, but we do it with high standards unlike that school to the east.
  3. then ban yourself from a while. For what? Something he did on his personal facebook? It's not like he came on here and started the rumor!
  4. Geez people, lay off the guy. Ian is one of the biggest Akron supporters (figuratively and literally) out there. Cut him a bit of slack. He admitted he was wrong. Let's move on now. We can't change the past.
  5. Pretty sure this is linked to the Yardbarker report, which is just reporting the Lake County Sentinel report. Not really any new information.
  6. My guess is our lack of defending on set pieces is why Balogun and Dagilis are both out on the pitch. They along with Barson and Gallego really increase this team's aerial presence. Hopefully this pays off and results in another
  7. Are you sure? I just looked, it starts at 1pm. You're good to go it got moved to 4 http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/...e_vs_balti.html Dang, I read "It go moved to 4" and for a split second that you were talking about the Zips match. That would have definitely increased the odds of me making the trip.
  8. COYZ !!!!!!!!!!!!!! (come on you ZIPS) Oooh! A fellow Yid? I've been using COYZ on my twitter posts as well. COYZ and COYS! Go Zips and Spurs!
  9. I'd definitely love to go. Especially if there is a bus headed down. Does anyone know if Charlotte streamed there last game? If I can't go and they don't stream this game I will be really ticked. Edit: Just checked their site and it looks like it should be streamed.
  10. Check out the smack talk that @MarylandMSoccer engaged in with me last night. Kind of surprised that their official twitter account did this. Don't think that UA's accounts would do such a thing. Pretty funny stuff! Twitter
  11. In defense of the ref on that play, I don't think he felt that that foul deserved a PK. It usually takes a pretty hard foul for a ref to award a PK. You'll often see when a soft foul occurs near the edge of the box, the ref will call it, but pull the ball outside the box. They'd never admit to it, but it's somewhat common. That said, to then give up a ticky-tack PK the next half was complete BS. I was right behind the goal and saw absolutely nothing there.
  12. Wow! After last Friday's game I was feeling a bit down about this team. Now I feel completely different. I expected them to win, but not in this dominating fashion. All the guys played great today. True team effort. Scottie: Finally got off his drought and scored a nice goal. Quinn: Great game and great goal. Perfect placement with his shot. I have a feeling he'll really come into his own next year. Mattocks: Nice goal and great hustle all game. No complaints here about his effort tonight. Also, I don't recall an offside against him. Holmes: Solid game. Shot one off the crossbar on a great volley. Trapp: What can I say about him? This kid is everywhere and always hustles. Probably my favorite player on this team. Gallego: I'm really starting to like him out of the holding mid position. Does some nice things there. Yedlin: Dude runs like a deer. His pace is explosive on the attack yet allows him to get back and cover. Great player. Balogun: Solid down the left side. Wouldn't mind seeing him stay there for the remainder of the tourney. Partnered with Barson & Dagilis the Zips are able to hold there own on set pieces now. Dagilis: Wasn't in favor of the move to start him, but now it's paying off. Once again, Porter knows what he's doing. Barson: The rock of the defense. Meves: Made some great saves, but needs to learn to punch the ball away better. There was one play in the first half where I was having flashbacks to the failed clearance that set up Barson's goal line clearance last year in the final. The ref in this game was garbage. Absolutely horrible. That PK was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. There was grabbing going on on both sides when the players went up for the ball. Definitely nothing PK worthy. This team can win another title if they play like this all tournament. Go Zips!
  13. There is a big "Listen Live" button on the right side of the screen. http://cleveland.cbslocal.com/
  14. Do you even own long pants? He was wearing them to the WMU game. I'm pretty sure that's why we lost.
  15. I'm not too sure how much of the struggles this year are Porter's fault. Take the WMU loss for example. The Zips dominated the game, but failed to convert on some really easy finishes. Holmes clanged one off the post, Scottie missed a wide open goal, Schmitt took a ball boy to the ground. Nothing Porter can do about that. It's on the guys now. BTW, Caldwell needs to step his game up if this team wants to go anywhere this post-season. After the hot streak to begin the year he has really regressed. He needs to step it up. That miss against WMU was horrible. Also, when he stepped up to take the PK he didn't look confident at all. Another hot streak like the 2010 post-season would be much appreciated now!
  16. This is exactly, and tragically, correct. And this is why an Akron fan with even so much as an elementary ability to connect dots hates all-things Cleveland. Burn, Cleveland. Burn. Personally, I don't have too much of a problem with this. CSU is from Cleveland. It makes sense that they would get more coverage than the Zips. THe OSU coverage is the one that gets me. Cleveland claims that they are not band wagon fans, yet they choose to follow a team that is two hours away for the college sports.
  17. NIU has Western Illinois. Winner takes on #2 Creighton.
  18. If you are unable to listen to the link, heres an article detailing what was said: Y! Sports
  19. If the rumor at the 7:30 point in this interview is true... I don't have the words. :puke: :puke:
  20. Trying not to get ahead of myself after one game, but... WOW! Can you Digg it?
  21. Hey guys, did you know that CAn't and Akron are only separated by 14 miles? ROFL is that the only thing ESPN announcers know about us?
  22. That DA went missing in 2005. This story just gets crazier.
  23. Remember we are dealing with all the information. I certainly would have broken it up knowing what we all know. But do we know what McQueary knew at the time? Additionally from a Joe Pa point of view, he gets info from a GA, he does what he needs to do with it. Tells the AD and a guy who is in charge of the PSU Police department, that is like telling the commissioner of a police department. To me that is as handled as it could be.Now if McQueary saw what he says he saw in the indictment, how does he continue for 10+ years seeing Sandusky on campus and never questioning what happened. For Joe Pa he went to the authorities, they said they would investigate the accusation, if Sandusky wasn't removed or suspended by them, what else was he to do? Additionally there were external investigations of Sandusky by the youth organization he was involved with and they did nothing. No one is right on how this was handled, because it went on and too many innocent boys were taken advantage of, but of all parties Joe Pa is the one getting railroaded even though he told authorities, they blame him for not telling everyone?McQueary saw Sandusky raping a little boy in the shower! How much more information do you need?? As for JoePa, he definitely did the correct thing legally. That said, how do you not follow up when you see an alleged molester on campus day in and day out? Wouldn't you want to know what was found out?
  24. This whole story sickens me. I don't get how if you are McQueary or JoePa you report it and then forget it. Sandusky was continually around the team until just last week. How do you not go to the AD and ask what they uncovered? How do you sleep at night if you don't know the answer to this question? Sure they may have fulfilled their legal obligation, but they both failed at life. Also, if you witness something like this happen how do you not intervene and beat the crap out of Sandusky? McQueary is a coward.
  25. I would like to apologize to my professors for cursing them under my breath that they had conspired to give me two exams and a presentation tomorrow. Instead, I should have been thanking them for forcing me to stay at home and study instead of going to the game. In all seriousness though. This is really disappointing. Hopefully we can make a deep run in the tourney anyways and end up with short drives to the away games. Go Zips!
