  1. You may not like that ZipGrad is frustrated and venting and you certainly don't have to agree with him, but I can vouch for his "fandom". He is a true-blue Zips fan.
  2. Point taken, but what kind of upside can we, as Zips fans, ever realistically hope for in attendance growth? An 9-0 #20 ranked NIU took on 9-1 Ball State tonight. Can't get much more of an appealing MAC match up than that. Attendance: 18,290 I fear our dreams of a sold-out Info may be pipe dreams.
  3. I got the point spread right.
  4. This game was the opening topic on Mark Packer's SXM afternoon show. Nice to see the MAC get some national attention. I think NIU will get it done. After navigating the non-conference schedule unscathed, they have had some unimpressive MAC wins, but you couldn't blame them for looking ahead to Balls & Toledo. They come out focused tonight & have their way with a good team. NIU-42 BSU-21
  5. Damn you, LZip. You almost made me swallow my gum.
  6. According to Wikipedia, Rittman is a city in Medina and Wayne counties in the U.S. state of Ohio.
  7. VERSUS Mr. Hawkins Born: 1962 This is the only top 3 I think Steve Hawkins belongs in.
  8. Some of you guys crack me up. You have already decided what redshirts to burn from watching one scrimmage.
  9. I had Moloko last year and really enjoyed it. My favorite of the year would be: Oskar Blues Ten Fidy Honorable Mention: Samuel Smith Organic Chocolate Stout Uinta Dubhe Sixpoint 3 Beans But if I could only drink one beer for the rest of my life: Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald
  10. First off, LZip. . . Did you get your tailgate drink on? We did. 11. I agree. I also agree about your chicken/egg dilemma. For the Info to ever fill up, the Zips need to beat everyone they should beat. No blowing winnable games. They need to pull off a couple of noteworthy upsets of relevant teams. They need to have an exciting balls-out offense that moves the ball up and down the field at will against MAC competition. Fair weather fans want to be entertained through offense. The University has to promote the shit out of football to the students. Hook 'em on the experience when they are young and they will come back later. Lastly, everyone needs to comprehend just how important tailgating is. People will come to games just because they don't want to miss the party. I think we are in the same boat as most all the other MAC schools. Nobody in the MAC draws huge crowds. Everyone is in the same relative ball park other than Eastern. They are an absolute trainwreck.
  12. I'm not saying that attendance doesn't matter at all, but I don't think it means nearly as much as we all want it to. Having the new stadium was supposed to really help recruiting. Has it?
  13. +1. The crowd was what I expected. Akron's turnout was nothing to write home about, but I thought Can't's was especially weak, but I guess that should have been expected also. The one-year Can't anomaly is over and now all they have to look forward to is 40 more years of bad football. I would imagine a lot of their fans are depressed by the cold reality. Most important thing to recruits should be winning, not crowd size and Iit looks like Bowden is turning the corner. If crowd size meant anything to recruits, Eastern Michigan would have been forced to drop football by now.
  14. I got pretty verbal while we were burning through our time outs.
  15. It's 9:52. . .
  16. Getting the vehicle loaded for tomorrow morning. . . Who is going to show up and help me drink these treats?
  17. When tailgating on the grounds of a public university you've got to
  18. My pot of chili will have some secret ingredients in it. I hope it turns out well. I was told not to pass judgment on the recipe until it murrinates for a couple days. We should have plenty of food for everyone. Even Can't fans.
  19. I think Skip is probably right and while I am hoping for a great crowd, I dont really see people turning out in droves to watch two 2-win ball clubs. Hope I am wrong. Seeing a large throng of Zips fans arriving early to perform their due diligence in the parking lot before the game will make me very happy. See you at 8.
  20. We definitely need to get a good group picture taken Saturday.
  21. Does anyone want to enter their favorite beer for judging along with their chili? I don't think we want to wait for the Toledo game for a beer taste-off, do we?
  22. Zips 35 Flushes 3 The Zips reverse the 2011 score. There will be jubilation in the parking lots after the game. No one will be calling the Summit County Suicide Prevention Hotline this year! I also heard through the vine that there might be some Old Grand Dad flowing before the game.
  23. You're probably right. What do I know, anyway? I have a degree from a glorified high school.
  24. Good eye, Dr. Z. It does remind you of the Thrush Woodpecker. . .
  25. Thanks, I think the young ladies with the cameras saw me drinking that Zatecky Gus and they thought "Wow, this guy knows how to party".
